Product Description

Grow more. Waste less. Ramp started out as a better corporate card with spend management software designed to help companies spend less, not more. Since then, the platform has grown to help modern businesses run all aspects of their finance operations, including expense management, accounts payable, procurement, accounting automation, and more. Through it all, our core mission is unchanged: save time and money for our customers to help them build more successful, profitable businesses.

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

No other company gives finance teams instant access to powerful software that allows them to confidently manage their entire flow of business spend in real time.

For too long, companies have suffered with siloed card and expense management solutions, creating inefficient, burdened finance teams that lacked an automated and tightly coupled system of reporting and control. Employees outside finance were saddled with monotonous, low-value work. It's time for a better way.

At Ramp we are creating the best version of finance operations with a corporate card anchored by software that generates efficiency and savings with every swipe.

What do you like best about Ramp?

Feature-rich platform that enables customized internal controls and policy compliance for SMBs and built-in automation, AI, and Vendor-level rules for accountants. Thank you for recognizing transactions as potential Bill Payments in QBO; we avoided double-booking expenses! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

Employees can't code their purchases; they need to get bookkeeper status for that. Many purchases need to be split (by Class/Location), and Notes are the only option. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

Ramp saves us time via rules and automation and helps us avoid miscoding transactions. Staying compliant with policies in place regarding receipts - and flagging and reminding about missing receipts - has been a godsend, for both us accountants and the business owners who are able to track and address the issues in real time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Tony Rios of Ramp

Hi Natalya, thanks for the love!

We do allow employees to code their purchases on their end. You can do this through your expense policy on Ramp. For more information about how to set this up, check out the URL attached! Your employees will also have the ability to split transactions within the submission form as well.

What do you like best about Ramp?

Ramp has saved us a ton of time and jumpstarted our expense management. Integration with our accounting software and account rules has also saved us a ton of time on the bookkeeping side. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

This is specific to our Company situation but Ramp's Bill Pay is not rolled out where we're based (Texas). This is supposed to roll out by end of year so we're looking forward to that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

Saving us time on the administrative side of the business so we can continue to focus on building the business. Also, our sales team has reduced time tracking expenses, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Katie Hoag of Ramp

Hi Jonathan, thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We're delighted to hear that Ramp has saved you a ton of time with your ERP integration & accounting rules, and is freeing up your sales team from manually tracking expenses! I'm not sure if the part of your review that mentions Bill Pay not being available in Texas is a remnant of your previous review in 2022, but Bill Pay is currently available everywhere in the U.S. and I believe your company is leveraging it now!

Thanks Jonathan, we appreciate having you as a customer!

What do you like best about Ramp?

Ramp is easy to use, and the customer service has been terrific! It was easy to transition our staff to the credit card solution, and it eliminated paper bills and receipts. Additionally, it provides great data to my department managers and users. Better yet, is it is free for us to use. It integrates well with Quickbooks online! My team uses this product daily, and we are so thankful for it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

If we could modify which QBO accounts are seen by user in the free version, that would be terrific. It is offered in the paid version, but free is nice! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

All drafts are still viewable by everyone with access to bill pay. This creates a bit of a privacy issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

Ramp is attempting to come up with a way that send an invoice in bill pay to drafts so that all users cannot see all invoices that are in drafts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Ramp?

Ramp has been a great help in efficiently syncing transactions to QuickBooks. The controls and rules that Ramp provides allow for less manual oversight and work when collecting documentation and categorizing expenses. Ramp's bill pay feature is also extremely conventient, you just drop your invoice in and Ramp pulls most of the relevant data out for your review. The integration to Gmail or Outlook for receipt/invoice retreival is stellar as well, it saves time in chasing down users to upload receipts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

I wish there were more reporting available. Being able to export data in a csv is great, but more in-platform reporting ability would be great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

Ramp has gone a long way in aleviating some of the pain points that we had around employee reimbursement, it is no longer a manual process. It has also been a mojor help in establish controls around the AP process. We just set a rule that requires approval from an admin and a vendor owner in order to pay a bill, now we have a clear audit trail. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Ramp?

I love the fact that we can create virtual cards on the fly for special purposes. We can give a person a physical card and they can create virtual cards for special projects. I also love the fact that Ramp enforces loading receipts. We used to spend a lot of time trying to get people to send in their receipts. It integrates well with QuickBooks online. We will be upgrading to Ramp + in the near future when we switch to Sage. The cashback feature is great, no points to mess with, just a cash refund! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

When paying people with ACH we have to click Payment type each time we make a payment. This is not stored in the vendor record so it adds a lot of keystrokes and prevents the payments being processed as a batch.

Sometimes the period between the charge and payment date can be short. All payments are processed on the same date whether the charge was made recently or 30 days ago. The float on our other credit cards is longer. We feel that the cash back and ease of setting up cards more than offsets this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

Expense management, AP automatin is not quite there yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
