Product Description

Grow more. Waste less. Ramp started out as a better corporate card with spend management software designed to help companies spend less, not more. Since then, the platform has grown to help modern businesses run all aspects of their finance operations, including expense management, accounts payable, procurement, accounting automation, and more. Through it all, our core mission is unchanged: save time and money for our customers to help them build more successful, profitable businesses.

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

No other company gives finance teams instant access to powerful software that allows them to confidently manage their entire flow of business spend in real time.

For too long, companies have suffered with siloed card and expense management solutions, creating inefficient, burdened finance teams that lacked an automated and tightly coupled system of reporting and control. Employees outside finance were saddled with monotonous, low-value work. It's time for a better way.

At Ramp we are creating the best version of finance operations with a corporate card anchored by software that generates efficiency and savings with every swipe.

What do you like best about Ramp?

Ramp gives the ultimate power to our employees - to spend as needed, efficiently add a receipt, code the transaction for our budget and give a memo for the purchase. This keeps the accounting office from having to hunt down receipts and try to guess where the employee wants to charge the item. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

Honestly, our employees picked it up faster than we could imagine. We gave them no training - yet, from the moment it was rolled out for employees use, they have used it like crazy. The accounting department was still learning the software and how to reconcile/account for all the transactions while the employees were using it profusely! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

Timing of purchases. We did Purchase Orders on paper which had to wait about a week for implementation. Now, we do POs on Ramp and they have a 1-2 hour approval record. Items are purchased sooner when they are really needed so that employees are able to do their jobs more effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Ramp?

We switched from Bill.com and there are a few things I love about ramp:

- Ease of use: the UX is incredibly easy to navigate

- Getting the team set up! It was easy to get everyone in, even our accountants

- Customer service is always so helpful, even when there aren't features that are offerred currently, they'll provide work arounds or let you know when that feature is offered.

-I'm able to choose the accounting date when syncing to our accounting software. This is a big one, especially for accrual accounting. It saves so much time.

-Our billing/receipt/all accounting flows just so much easier because it's so much easier to get the context of what the charge was, and if I don't know, the comments or reminders in ramp allow me to follow up with the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

There are only two things I wish I could change about Ramp:

-I wish you could set the time zone and time for cards with daily limits to reset. Currently it's in UTC which can be tricky when we use it for team onsites since it doesn't coincide with when we're using the cards.

-I wish you could designate someone on the team as a "travel planner" to automatically be able to book travel and manage trips for everyone. Currently, a user can log in and designate someone individually to do this, but it would be helpful to take away this step (especially for C-level users who usually don't have the time to log in and do this). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

It allows us to control spending so much more as well as automate a lot of our otherwise very timely accounting processes. In a small start up like ours, it's so important to have a software like Ramp that allows us to have that control and minimize the amount of time we're spending on the processes. What do you like best about Ramp?

Ramp is extremely user friendly. The whole implementation was done by myself. It easily integrates with our accounting software (Sage Intacct) and provides variety of features for proper record keeping. We were able to replace 3 different providers with Ramp, and now our AP, Employee Expenses Reimbursement and Credit Cards are all in one place. Customer support is always excellent in responding quickly, even though I do not get to contact them often thanks to the very detailed and easy to navigate Help Center. And best of all there is cash back when you use Ramp Card, which adds up so quickly and can be used in variety of ways. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

There is honestly not much if anything.. You can control how many notifications you get from Ramp, as it might be a little too much if you are an Admin. And there are a lot features we do not use that perhaps could be hidden from the Menu to have a cleaner look (something I have not explored with Customer Support - maybe it is possible). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

Automates AP processing, saves time on entering and coding invoices, helps keeping track of spendings and controls travel expenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Ramp?

I love everything about Ramp. Iuse Ramp daily. They are constantly upgrading and making improvements, It is very user friendly. I love that I can export into Quickbooks instead of handkeying everything like I was doing prior to Ramp. I love that I can download a zip file that contains all of the receipts at one time. I love that I can send reminders with just a click. I recommend it to everyone. Some staff were a little hesistant when we impleted Ramp, but now they love it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

I struggled when first using it. Doing things like setting work flows and creating differenet reports. The only downside for me is there are individual statements. I have to create them from a master list of charges. Sometimes my exports fail when importing them into QuickBooks, not sure exactly why, but I did talk to a Ramp rep about it and they said it was an issue that they were working on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

As I stated previously, my main issue is with exports that fail either partially or completely. Ramp said they were aware of the issue and are working to fix it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Ramp?

I really like how easy it is to set up anything in ramp. When it comes to adding a new user or even creating a new spend program, ramp makes it very easy to do it all. Not only is it easy for the admin side of the program, but even for employees that use the credit card. It makes summit receipts and invoices extremely easy for everyone involved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

I would say due to certain limitations with integration of unpopular ERP systems, it can be difficult at times to export data into your accounting software. You need a strong understand of excel exports and csv files if you want to integrate ramp with certain accounting software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

With previous credit card companies it was extremely difficult to track company spending. You would need to look at the statement and the end of the month and compare that to physical paper receipts that would be handed by the respected mangers. Now with ramp it is very easy to take a picture of those receipts and have them show up instantly on the admin side. Coding certain purchases to the right accounting category in ramp is very helpful, and makes using credits cards a lot less easier for everyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Ramp?

Ease of use, intuitive, frees up my time as an admin as users are breezing through their transactions real time with minimal assitance from me. We've closed our books 3 days earlier as I am not waiting for users to complete their charges. Really easy to implement and train. In fact I don't even train anymore, just hand out the flyer and users are on it. We use it everyday and it was extremely easy to integrate. Took less than a day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

I have not found one yet, and plan to Ramp it up with contracts and bill pay in the future! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

Allowing us to close the month sooner and less training, management of users. Ease of use just makes it a breeze for our employees Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Ramp?

Our users love it - they are done once they submit their items. They no longer have to save receipts until the monthly report is due. As the Admin, I love that it integrates and syncs with our accounting software so quickly, it is an immediate benefit for department heads looking at their reporting. I also have set up workflows so that employees only see their relative GL department codes. Our external audit team likes the review processing that happens in the 'background'. The employees' expenses are reviewed and approved by department heads. The initial setup was easy and the online support and call-in support folks are helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

We are relatively new using RAMP, so I am still learning how to access reporting. Statement reconciliations were a challenge at first, but that process is improving. I would like the time a request for an employee card and the time until it is delivered to be quicker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest benefit is that our users are required to submit receipt picture, GL coding and short memo line, and that there are text and email reminders nudge the user to submit those items. We have much better compliance with this issue. Previously, they would lose receipts because there was such a time delay. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Ramp?

Ramp automates the AP process tremendously. It allows users to forward bills from their email inbox to Ramp as well as allowing users to upload the bills directly inside of Ramp. Their AI automation reads the bils and fills out most, if not all, of the information on the bill. This obviously saves a ton of time. It also integrates with your email and can match receipts with credit card transactions automatically. We implemented Ramp somewhat recently and it was very streamlined. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

I honestly can not think of downsides of using Ramp. The company I work for did not have any software like this before so the AP process was very manual. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

Automating the AP process and credit card expense process. Ramp also syncs to Sage Intacct which makes reconciliations much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Katie Hoag of Ramp

Hi Nick, thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We're happy to hear that Ramp Bill Pay has saved you a lot of time by automating your previously manual AP process and that implementation was very streamlined. Also delighted to hear that the sync to Sage Intacct has made reconciliations easier. We appreciate having you as a customer!

Thank you,

Katie

What do you like best about Ramp?

Convenience, easy of use and integration into our ecosystem of software tools. Integration into our accounting software tools as well which automates our entire accounts payable accounting process. Extremely efficient to use and saves a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

Limited options for business travel and lower net cash benfit rebates versus other cards. Also, less partner benefit promotions. However, right now the time savings is the benefit, plus we use the cash back on our spending to lower our monthly credit card bills. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our finance and accounting manager retired and this platform as fulfilled the need of expense management Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Ramp?

We have approximately 20 employees currently and heavy credit card usage. It has been very easy for everyone to get used to using Ramp, both through the app and the website. LOVE the virtual cards as it has already saved us having to cancel physical cards when there has been suspected fraud (which Ramp notified us of immediately). As the admin, I found it fairly easy to set up custom policies that match our company policies, and approval workflows that work for our organization. We are also using the travel piece and expense reimbursements. With employees in Europe and the ability to reimburse them in their currency, it's really nice. I have called support a few times with questions, and they have always been very friendly and helpful. They always follow up with an email which I like as well. I'm in the system daily and love it. Also, using integration with Sage Intacct, and it works beautifully. Saves me a lot of time, and I was able to set it up myself using the clear instructions Ramp posted. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ramp?

The travel portion is lacking some things - only goes through Priceline so that knocks out some airlines (Southwest) and there is no way to book trains (we have employees who take Amtrak from DC to New York fairly regularly). Also can have an employee set up as a delegate for someone else (like an assistant to put their receipts in for them) but would also be nice if the delegate could book travel for their manager. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ramp solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is helping us coordinate some things that would be trickier with an international organization. Saves time and headaches! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
