I've been a near-daily user of Prismic since ~2016 for content management on client and internal websites. The ability to build pages from "slices" is a great way of being able to provide a page-builder experience for fully custom components. The flexibility is matched by the speed and ease of implementation through the Slice Machine tool, which integrates into modern development workflows easily. Recently the team has begun to release improvements to the writer experience that look likely to bring that editor experience up to the same level of excellence as the developer experience. All in all a solid option for managing content on static sites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Content organisation and findability can be a challenge as all entries appear in a single list, there are options for filtering which are helpful but it still presents a challenge for contributors. Updates to the writer/contributor experience have felt slow while the company has been focussed on their (excellent) developer experience, this can make internal advocacy and support for the platform a challenge. There is also no native option for adding validation to fields, while I understand the team's rationale I think the lack of those guard rails is a barrier to adoption by content teams. 1. Keyboard shortcuts in Prismic Cloud Repo would enhance productivity.
2. A "Select All" option for media images and documents is much needed. Currently, selecting and managing documents one by one is time-consuming and not user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a web developer, my brain works in slices! Prismic nailed this concept and implemntation! The easy and automatic slice machine setup was great and the dev workflow is super quick to pickup. It was really easy to integrate my existing component library and any libraries I wanted to use! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It could be my lack of understanding core CMS taxonomies but I had a couple of complex document linking scenarios that seemed like I made them more difficult on myself than maybe was necessary. Things like getting a category document from a custom type or page. Honestly though, I tried one of the main competitors and in the time it took me to figure out how to get an image field to render in that system, I had most of a homepage and 6 or 7 slices built. What I like about Prismic.io is its slice-based architecture, which provides incredible flexibility for creating reusable and customizable content components.
The user-friendly interface is another standout feature as non-technical users can easily manage and update content without needing developer assistance.
Prismic's Preview feature is also great, allowing content creators to see changes in real-time before publishing. Additionally, their content scheduling feature is invaluable for planning and managing updates.
Lastly, the documentation and community support are excellent, making it easy to get started and troubleshoot any issues along the way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The initial setup with Prismic.io can be a little challenging for beginners, but with the good documentation and available videos, it’s actually not bad. However, I do miss dedicated documentation for setting up Prismic with Astro, which will hopefully be added in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Prismic cms has one of the best experience of all the cms that we have used. Using Prismic was the best decision we made. Prismic has one of the fastest CDN for image and media it makes your website feel so fast. also the slice and customizability is unmatched Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In my opionion Prismic has one downside which is that the documents cant be filtered or sorted in the prismic dashboard for marketeers. for example if a markeer wants to search document based on the date from this date to the next date they cant do it. Hopefully Prismic fixes this Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What we like best about Prismic is how robust it is. Even after years of use and with some outdated, even deprecated dependencies, sites still run mostly smooth and meets majority of needs. It’s reliable, solid, and has definitely stood the test of time. Content management by non-techies is a breeze and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The legacy Slice Builder we used to build our site has been replaced with the Slice Machine, which has limited our ability to create new slices (pre-designed, reusable content sections) and caused issues with some existing ones. Additionally, while content management is straightforward, administering and maintaining a Prismic site requires more technical expertise compared to some other CMS options. From a marketing aspect, Prismic makes it quick and easy to update website copy and content without heavy developer time. Once the site is setup and published by a developer, I am able to create new landing pages, blog posts, update site copy based on product launches, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The slice machine is super helpful to create content in blocks and rearrange, but I still do have to rely on a developer to create any new slices needed for pages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The interface is very intuitive and makes organizing content easy. The slice system is excellent for customizing reusable components, and the integration with modern technologies like React is well-documented. Additionally, the free plan is very generous and offers a lot of features, making the tool accessible for various types of projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The lack of functionality to mark fields or slices as mandatory in a Page Type or Custom Type. This limitation can make it challenging to ensure the quality of content created by editors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the fact that I can see content previews. I love the fact that I now can copy and paste slices as well. It is very minimal, making it very good for end user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I used to dislike it's slow loading times but it has been improved. Now I just dislike the fact that it has no dark mode. Another noteable dislike for me would be is I when link the content, I want it to be prefilled and I get the fields instead of just record reference. It causes me to fetch the record seprately and if I have series of those at multiple places it can get tiresome at scaleability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Prismic does a fantastic job of allowing anyone to create data silos for different types of data (such as a website page or a blog item) and deliver it via a API. We've even used Prismic for even grandular uses such as drop-down menu items and selection boxes, all of which have worked really well.
We now use Primic to power all of our data that needs to be managed externally or within our own teams and we've had no complains about the Prismic as a tool for non-techy people to use.
We use Prismic several times a day, and the API is hit thousands of times a day and we've never had an issue with the service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The API and available SDKs require a bit of a learning curve to use, especially the change control side of things, but it really is a small learning curve. If you're a competent developer or have a good development team, you can easily write reusable code around the learning curves. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Slice slimulator works great

List of pages and content types is a mess. Should be ordered well
Overall UX for editor is it's best
Simulator for slice is a good idea but have a lot of limitations (for example you can access other Prismic data inside it)
Lack of fields customization. You can't group, make some fields mandatory Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
