What do you like best about PitBullTax?

I like the quickness of the program when it comes to pulling updated records. I feel as though it is pretty user-friendly in that aspect and does a good job when the online portal wants to cooperate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PitBullTax?

It seems as though there have been a lot of issues recently with getting updated records during downtimes on the site. Sometimes we need the information right then and there so when the website is down, it drowns productivity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering PitBullTax:

I would say it is a good program overall and I'm not sure of many alternatives to it. I would just say to be wary of the downtimes of the website and expect to wait on information during that time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PitBullTax solving and how is that benefiting you?

"Excellent and highly recommended tool for supporting IRS Representation cases"

Describe the project or task PitBullTax helped with:

We are a Tax Advisory/IRS Representation firm supporting taxpayers. PitbullTax is a sophisticated hosted software solution to support Tax Attorneys and Enrolled Agents represent taxpayers who are in need of assistance to work with the IRS on their behalf. This is typically due to incurred tax bills, possibly facing levy and seizure of personal and business assets.

We utilize PitBullTax to support IRS Representation clients through the onboarding process and on-going to resolution. This can entail a variety of alternatives, including "currently not collective (CNC) status, installment agreements to pay their tax debt over time, up through Offers in Compromise where their tax debt can be settled for less than full balance.

PitBullTax supports essentially the entire lifecycle of these engagements, from initial data collection, fee calculation and engagement letters, IRS authorization document preparation (Power of Attorney and Tax Information Authorization), IRS tax transcript delivery and analysis, and case resolution support including case diagnosis, resolution option evaluation, scenario generation and analysis, and settlement option delivery. What do you like best about PitBullTax?

PitBullTax supports practically the entire lifecycle of the case. We're able to quickly begin work with the client to obtain information in support of the Enrolled Agent/Tax Attorney through web-enabled questionnaires that walk the client through the initial information gathering steps.

Each significant step of the case lifecycle is supported. We can create the record for the prospect, get disclosure documents approved, and start working. The Enrolled Agent is not required to engage at every step of the process and administrative assistants can support the information gathering activities and turn the information over to the principal(s) for analysis and interaction with the IRS. The client is also directly engaged and supporting the information gathering process.

Once wage and income, asset and household budget information is collected, PitBullTax can perform very complex analysis to assist the Enrolled Agent to determine the clients best course of action. This includes sophisticated scenario creation and analysis, and evaluating different resolution options. The back-end is supported with fee calculators and engagement letter support for professional and ethical representation.

PitbullTax easily generates the Federal and State tax documents needed to support the case. These range from something as simple as disclosure agreements and Tax Information Authorization forms, to complex Financial Disclosure documents, Offers in Compromise applications, Installment Agreements, etc. These documents support state tax authorities in CA, NY, NJ, and IL in addition to the IRS at the Federal level. What do you dislike about PitBullTax?

I don't know that there's anything that we "dislike" per se, but we don't use EVERY aspect of their solution in our firms representation practice. For instance, we are not customers of their transcript delivery analysis, using another product that our principal feels better supports this particular area. The information collection, case analysis, scenario generation, and form creation areas are the "bread and butter" of their offering and those areas are rock solid. What problems is PitBullTax solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our firm and our principal is able to support tax payers with IRS representation issues, help resolve their cases in a fair and judicious manner, give them invaluable peace-of-mind that their problems are being addressed and, in many cases, "nightmares" quite literally are being eliminated and they can move on with their lives without the proverbial "letter from the IRS".

The tool offers sophisticated analysis and resolution tools that I'm not sure any firm could manually perform and deliver for clients in a timely manner. It's a matter of scaling and technical support. You could perform this analysis and prepare these documents by hand, but I'm not sure you'd be able to support any more than a handful of clients in this manner. In the same manner that Tax Software allows tax firms to streamline and accelerate tax preparation for their clients, PitBullTax streamlines and accelerates IRS representation work.
