What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?

That it is a database AND a distribution service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?

The workspace (and Lightboxes) are still underdeveloped. I can't make a gallery from a lightbox, now sort them differently, nor erase or modify comments. The difference between editors and taggers is not useful. I'll never authorize paying the same price for taggers as editors. It would be better to pay $50 for taggers and have interns do that work, and let editors have the higher (current) price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a State entity, we don't have full control over our payments, and we were several months overdue because of the State bureaucracy and COVID-19 issues. After being cut-off, we began to consider making our own database in-house because the disruption in service was too much of a blow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I would prefer to be able to use some of our internal images for the pics to be able to customize the UI. it makes it easier for team members to understand areas of the software by having them click a link. I am pleased to be able to share that selecting an image to appear as the thumbnail for a folder in Chorus will be possible as part of the next update, version 3.2. What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?

You can control who access what, you can create groups, assign type of rol, etc. and you can actually request information on the uses of the information downloaded. This is basic for a tool like this, and in order to have a good control.

Libris is an easy-to-use tool for online organization for a photo library. The program is easy to learn and use, easy to find photos and makes sharing the photo library super convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ease of the UI for a contributor to access the desired galleries and the speed of uploads. Even with marginal internet connections I am seeing pictures posted right away. I like Photoshelter because it provides a all in one platform for all our teammates to publish assets, whether if you are the designer or the editor everyone can get their assets uploaded with their own user account making the process really simple and smoothless. I love that Libris is cloud based. I can access my photos while at work or on the go. I also can send clients photos directly from my database in a few easy clicks. Although I which there was a mobile site for viewing and downloading photos, I still like that I can access everything on my phone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?

Since Libris is a cloud based, you need to have access to the internet to access, there is no work around this, I know. It would also be helpfully to be able to edit/add metadata easier - almost like a batch metadata upload. I would also like a more mobile-friendly app or mobile site. Cloud-based storage is the future. Why be stuck to on-campus servers to store your photos and then try and connect to said server while on the road and deal with connection speeds? Make your life and clients life easier with a cloud-based system that gives you the ease of access, while also giving you metadata that allows you to search anything.
