Perceptive ImageNow (aka Content) is a great CMS for workflow management and process automation. With the right tricks, you can integrate with a variety of other business software and services thanks to iScripts (written in JavaScript) and the import client.
From an information security stand point the images are saved in a (from what I gather) proprietary way which prevents any would be intruders from easily accessing the data. However, the key fields are stored in an MS SQL database so data mining is easy as pie.
Perceptive support is very proactive and I never had trouble contacting them or resolving any issues with ImageNow. If not for the excellent product support I may have reviewed them a bit lower due to my experiences with eForms-- but they do stand by their products and help out clients quickly and effectively.
We did not use BI, Reports, or Brainware- however the demo for Brainware (if they haven't renamed it yet) made the technology seem very useful.

eForms have the potential to be a great feature-- however be warned they are run in Java and may not be the best solution for any internet forms as users will receive a security warning message due to recent security exploits with Java. For this reason, our company did not follow through with our eForms implementation and wound up eating the cost of the license. eForms also has a rather tedious development environment-- the form designer it was packaged with wasn't even finished when we received the module. The demo provided via a remote session was also very misleading. My worst experience with Perceptive was definitely eForms.
Licensing for additional modules is expensive for smaller companies! Every time I asked for a quote regarding a module the price was out of our budget. Some modules are based on usage, which does help, however some of them would benefit from tiered pricing.
Not a big deal really, but Perceptive seems to be unable to decide on a final name for any of their products. I remember they were trying to rename Perceptive ImageNow to Perceptive Content and it seemed to result in a fair amount of confusion during an Inspire conference. I love having the ability to upload and store all necessary student documents. We can easily capture a student packet, as well as a business office and financial aid scholarship and payment information. We can then quickly reference the documents that we need to find. We assign specific workflows to particular departments; that way, everything stays nice and clean, and I don't have to worry about documents that I don't need. Because I work for two different areas of the university, I have two different application sets that I can link to and view. This capability makes it easy to switch back and forth between students populations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not have permission to print documents directly from the student's Perceptive file. This issue may be our university policy, but I currently have to print screen a file and then paste and print from another program. We sometimes also have issues where one department is not seeing our captured documents. This, however, can be easily fixed by correcting the workflow. The key is to make sure that EVERYONE who will need access to those documents at some point--for instance, if covering for someone that is on leave, can view that specific workflow. It's better to be proactive in that situation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The window walker feature is a great tool that's surprisingly easy to use. The feature allows you to take pieces of metadata from tabled forms in other applications all with a single click (a feature I've not seen rivaled by competitors as easily/intuitively). The management console is user-friendly as well, making complex workflows simple with point and click setup options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The cost and upkeep are two points that soured me on the product, especially if you're company plans to use Perceptive Content as a document repository. Products like Microsoft Sharepoint can easily replicate many features and functionalities of Perceptive Content if you possess the technical know-how. The license cost, costs associated with server maintenance, annual fees on scanning stations all made the elimination of Perceptive Content a fairly easy decision.
