Top Rated PDFPen by Nitro Alternatives
The library of signatures (transparent) makes signing documents a breeze, the text editor is very capable of making minor changes to documents. Non of this is easy or intuitive with Adobe Acrobat. It also has excellent OCR capability and it does a decent job to convert pdf to MS Word Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Forms are not handled well, although I have the pro version, I need Acrobat for those. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This tool is ideal to fill in and sign these pdf documents that are mailed to us all the time. You can store various signatures in a library, and easily enter text or even correct existing text. The work flow is so much easier than in more massive competing tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing really, the tool delivers as promised. I would not use it for more extensive pdf manipulations, but for small changes or additions to single documents this is ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PDFpen Pro is the best replacement for the full Adobe Acrobat I could find. The features included (see upload) are so useful. I have been with PDFpen Pro for several years now, and too many upgrades to mention. It's fulfilling to see a product you use regularly continue to improve and meet the needs of their users. I don't actually have anything I dislike at this time - they keep making it more functional along with improving the interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The OCR recognition tool is reliable and used by our firm on a daily basis for client files that are oftentimes scanned in via physical paper. This is definitely the best alternative to Acrobat Pro. It is indeed a workhorse. I am a new user of PDFpenPro but have also used Adobe Acrobat and other competing apps. Other apps have better marketing, but PDFpenPro really gets the job done. For instance, with PDFpenPro, I can create interactive forms, apply digital signatures, batch OCR, and with the latest version, view the same document in two screens! No major complaint about the product. Only minor inconvenience I have noticed is the Inability to upgrade to the Pro version if the originally accessed through SetApp (subscription-based).
increase in paid upgrades. Used to be thrilled with this product, but it seems that we're getting too little for the last couple "major" updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PDFpen is a very light software with which I can create PDF documents from scratch, it allows me to add images, text and without losing quality, something I like very much about this software is that it allows me to be able to add passwords to my documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only drawback for me is that it can only be used on mac operating systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
