7 Otter Restaurant Operating System (rOS) Reviews
Otter’s strongest suit is the third-party delivery solution. It is convenient for me to have Grubhub, DoorDash, Uber Eats, and others all to go straight into the system rather than having to manually input the orders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The kitchen display system (KDS) does not have a very smooth operating interface. This one may take time to notify of new orders particularly during rush hours. This might cause a lot of confusion and cooks annoyed that they have to constantly check for the new recipe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The fact that I can have Grubhub, DoorDash, Uber Eats, and chownow orders all come through the same tablet and printer. Very convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes there are issues with connectivity between Otter's software and the third party platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They have a wide integration ecosystem and it wasn't too difficult to set up Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Just about everything else. I've worked in software for almost 20 years and Otter is hands down the worst vendor I've ever dealt with. They solution is buggy and unreliable, their documention and knowledgebase are a trainwreck and most employees have no idea what they're doing.
They also offer the worst support I've ever been subjected to. It's impossible to get in touch with anyone and when you do, your tickets are lost in the abyss until you follow up endless. Pick any other integration partner you can. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Best service to integrate multiple third party delivery services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
their customer service needs improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The idea of simplicity is great. All of the platforms are in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We signed on because it was supposed to be a simple, way to have all of the services together in one place. We could pause all platforms at one time, 86 an item and make other changes all from one place. That was not how it ended up. We have next to no support, if you want to speak with anyone you have to make an appointment and then it is only for a very specific amount of time. You get no instruction except for when you are setting up your tablet and printer. The initial person we spoke to gave us a brief demonstration of what Otter can do but never went into detail. They give you the option to chat on the tablet. When the restaurant is busy who has time to chat on a tablet? The second option is to email support. You then get a response stating that you will be contacted via email within 24 hrs. When there's an issue do you want to wait for 24 hrs? After sending multiple emails you finally get a response from one of the 3 different people a few days later which is no help. so I think that I would rather have three different tablets, and three different printers and deal with three different organizations that have no one to deal with at Otter. Of course, they took my money immediately! They didn't stall in that at least. Frustrated to say the least and no end in sight. We have invested time and money and now are questioning if we will continue. So very sad because the idea was great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
