I like how you can customize oracle to fit your company's needs. I've worked at two different companies who use it in two completely different ways. One used it nationally for salespeople to request designs and for designers to submit them. They also used to create PO’s for their clients. The company I work for now also used it nationally to organize thousands of different product so that people all over the world can look up a sku and receive all the details for it. Sometimes you have to do a lot of clicking on different links to get to a certain place and that can be annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are a lot of features but I'm not using them all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If I'm looking up a customer I don't like how it doesn't show the customer name. It only shows customer number then I have to click to the next page. If there are multiple customers that I need to see in a batch it's very time consuming clicking each individual link. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The version that i used 11g, it was a great software version. It was a little easier to create code and modify the structure in the project that your working in.
I found it easier to bind components and drag n drop and linking them. All this is easily done while using their visual interface.
I like that they have some simple templates and layouts. nothing fancy but enough to use the visual editor to create something simple for what your working on.
I eventually stopped working with JD since it wasn't a very big demand with my working projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish it had more components in the visual editor section.
some areas was a little confusing with its navigation but i think i found it easier once i got to the coding.
for some reason i found a little bit of trouble when i would bind some of the tables. not sure why but i would work every so often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Best and free ware from Oracle, which has limited scope compare to Eclipse/RAD etc.. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Oracle has to promote opensource to keep up to date with developers issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
JDeveloper is a tool developed by Oracle to manage the lifecycle of a developed piece of software. It's free, which is fantastic, but there is very little community support since it isn't so widely used these days. Personally, I was working with a project which used some legacy web services (particularly, the Oracle Application Development Framework) so using JDeveloper to debug these services was a no-brainer. The UI is very outdated and feels archaic for 2016. Other IDEs provide a much richer UI that also gives the developer more options when writing and testing code. I've used JDeveloper on both OSX and Windows, but I have more experience using the OSX version. From my experience, it was fairly buggy and would crash often. I have been using this Oracle Jdeveloper since last 1 year and its simply amazing to have all the development life cycle all at one place i.e Jdeveloper. It supports design through coding, debugging and deploying the code. I like its visual approach to application development. With the good support for the enterprise software development options it became my favorite software for we development. Best application development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Most important thing that comes into mind while thinking of the disadvantages of Jdeveloper is its limited support for mobile development. Even the support for desktop environment is limited and very poor. It also has very limited uptake of Integrated development environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
J Developer close integration makes it a great way to work with Oracle databases. Oracle ADF and SOA suite gives you all tightly integrate technology solutions within one IDE i.e JDeveloper so
developers life becomes easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It isn't a great system for other java work, you don't get the extensive sets and options that you get with Netbeans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
