What do you like best about openSIS?

The customized fields for Student Information. This is required for a First Nation in Canada that has 9 more data fields for each student. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about openSIS?

One can Schedule a group of students in a homeroom, but one cannot, at present, unschedule a group of students. Instead, one has to remove them one at a time. This makes the workload about 20x what it should be. This may be corrected in the coming months.

OTOH, if you are careful. when you schedule a homeroom, you will never need to unschedule them in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is openSIS solving and how is that benefiting you?

After taking attendance, one cannot delete a course. This makes sense; however, if attendance has been taken by mistake, one can still drop a student enrollment one day after starting classes and then enroll them in the proper class.

So, Semester/Term/enrollment should take place on a Saturday. Then if a mistake in enrollment happens and attendance is taken, one can drop the student on Sunday, and enroll them in the correct class for Monday.

Still in Demo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
