Notability has an extremely simple interface. It reminds me of Apple software in that it doesn't appear at first to be able to do much; the incredible power of the app is lurking beneath the simple surface.

I love how easy it is to open the app up and just start taking notes right away, and the ability to connect with vocal recordings is awesome. Additionally I love that the apple pencil writing tools are robust enough to make complex diagrams, but not so complicated that it's not intuitive to use.

Finally, I love all the different paper templates, as well as the ability to import your own templates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There isn't much that i don't like about Notability, but if i had to nitpick these would be my complaints:

- The interface for converting handwritten text to copyable text isn't very robust

- I wish there was a way to archive notebooks

I dislike the subscription payment mode. At the beginnings you could buy the App with a one time payment and it was perfect, but now everything is a suscription. In this way it doesn't matter how many money you have paid, if you miss the payment you lose the right to use the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One thing I dislike in Notability is that the free version of the app comes with limited edits for each month and there is o clear statement as to what constitutes an edit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how easy it is to use the application's different tools. It makes it easy to take engineering classes, make calculations, draw models and send everything to myself or peers in various formats. It's also good to brainstorm ideas for events, engineering problems, group meetings, and more! I also use it as a planner and read PDFs and take notes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

So far, I've liked almost everything! Maybe they could add more options to save different types of favorite tools. For example, I have pens/markers for meetings and others that I prefer to use for math problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that notability allows you to combine several different ways of altering a document -- writing with an Apple Pencil or other stylus and typing. There is also a highlight function. Changing how you alter documents is also really easy with the lasso tool, which you can also use to make things that you have written larger or small. This makes editing documents easy. I dislike the sharing function. I have had a hard time backing up my Notability files to an online source such as Google Drive. I have also noticed that emailing documents can be tricky. There is a function where you can back up your files to the cloud and share with a Mac computer; however, the notes usually look different on the computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
