"Best IDE for Java GUI applications"
What do you like best about NetBeans?

The best feature about this NetBeans IDE is that you can build graphical user interface applications on Java. I always felt the IDE is user friendly and very interactive. Anyone with no experience in the building graphical user interfaces can surely work on it as beginner. Things that I liked in NetBeans which I use in daily are-

1) Switching between source code page and design page is convenient.

2) Pre-defined methods for tools available in the panel.

3) Easy navigation through project, files and services.

4) Seamless connection with database.

5) Flawless switching between pages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetBeans?

NetBeans is surely one of the best IDE for Java graphic user interfaces, but some things which I did not not like while using it on daily basis are-

1) Dark theme not available in the navigation pane.

2) Selecting swing controls into design page is tedious process.

3) Application UX/UI can be improved.

4) Difficulty in finding projects tab. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Netbeans - The powerful ageing IDE"
What do you like best about NetBeans?

Netbeans was the only reliable and open source IDE widely used across the world by developers, educators and hobbyists for developing applications based in Java, PHP or even Ruby Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetBeans?

NetBeans was indeed a heavy browser; it took a long time to load on operating systems with minimum requirements, making it unreliable for writing small programs or scripts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Netbeans has been a good debugging tool used in the development of websites and applications"
What do you like best about NetBeans?

Our IT department enjoys Netbeans because it does regular integration of different software in ways that is more fluent and efficient. It makes debugging much easier and fatser to work with. It creates better avenue for working with websites and applications development. We enjoy using its coding system and I'm very comfortable working with it because it is adaptable to both Java and PHP integrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetBeans?

It needs a lot of memory to function effectively.

Some integrated features need a regular internet connection to function

Corrections are not easily detectable, especially with long codes that require a lot of sorting Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple lightweight IDE for Java Developers"
What do you like best about NetBeans?

NetBeans is an excellent tool for Java and web application development. Installing it is a breeze, and using it is just as simple. This IDE's ability to format and define rules for each language is a valuable tool. I can easily switch between the projects, and it's easy to add dependencies. Java applications like J2SE, EJB, JavaFX, etc., are supported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetBeans?

Netbeans takes a long time to load if you have a lot of projects open; services like "Background scanning of projects" slows down the IDE, which makes the UI non-responsive; I wish if the developers could fix this issue in future updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best IDE for Web Development"
What do you like best about NetBeans?

NetBeans is a very efficient and robust IDE that supports multiple languages and plugins. It's interface is quite simple, stunning and easy to use and provides a lot of ease for beginners. The debug mode is also easy to use and helps developers in identifying issues and bugs. The best feature of this IDE is that it maintains the history of saved source code in a very manageable way. It also provides a feature of code comparison which helps developers to identify newly added lines of code. Code indentation is also an amazing feature that helps developers to understand code in an effective way. It is easy to integrate with Github. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetBeans?

The only downside that I observed is that it takes a lot of time to load and consumes lots of memory which results in system slowliness. As compared to other IDE's this factor should be taken in notice so that system speed cannot be affected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"NetBeans, a simple IDE for programming"
What do you like best about NetBeans?

NetBeans is free and easy to use. Besides, it allows programming in several languages, not only Java. It includes a graphical interface for programming interfaces using Swing.

The highlighting of reserved works helps to understand the code and read it faster. In case of prefer different colours, you can also select them. In fact, for me it is essential to use an IDE, such as NetBeans, for programming. The other alternative is to work with plain text, which is quite hard for programming.

If you are a new programmer in Java, you might find it a little bit difficult to begin using an IDE such as NetBeans. However, you will love it in few days. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetBeans?

Sometimes it is difficult to find additional tips. Moreover, there are not so many plugins as with other alternatives as, for instance, eclipse.

The community is also smaller. So, in case of searching for additional tools, you could have problems. Anyway, there are still a big number of plugins that can be useful for you.

I also dislike the fact that most of the tutorials are focused on other IDEs instead of NetBeans. Therefore, you might have problems finding a proper tutorial for using NetBeans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
