So far, less than a full week into using net2phone, the only advantage that I can see is the price. I cut our costs significantly, but there is nothing better from a product standpoint between this service and the one we were using before. Hopefully our perspective changes over time, but I am not hopeful given the truly awful onboarding experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We just started using net2phone less than a week ago and the list of dislikes so far is very long. The biggest beef was with the onboarding process. We completed net2phone's setup spreadsheets and scheduled our port over date weeks in advance. On the day of the port over, we were told to expect about 15-20 minutes of down time but that was it. Only on the date of the port over were we told we had to figure out how to reboot and reset all of our Polycom phones. Which meant either hunting for passwords because the Polycom default password didn't work or going through a fifteen minute override process for each phone. Long story short, we spent the entire day working through equipment issues that could have been dealt with on a weekend or off hours to avoid impacting our work day. Not a peep of apology from net2phone when I expressed frustration over that. And then, on the product side, the mobile app is twice as glitchy as the app for our prior provider - somthing I told them was a big issue for us and our remote employees. To me, the worst part has been that all involved at n2p have completely ignored my complaints - acting as if everything were just fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software for providing telecommunications to our business for Microsoft Teams via Direct Connect was somewhat straightforward. That is the extent of the good things to say about net2phone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Be sure to read the contract carefully as we were hit with many early terminination fees (ETF) when we moved to another provider. We moved due to the lack in transparancy for billing for serivces we were trying out. We cancelled some of those services since we were no longer using them and wanted to know what to expect in our next bill. Good luck getting an answer out of them or via any of the portals they provide. They responded with a screenshot of my current bill and I was left with the answer "wait for the next bill". Unacceptable for a telecommunications company. Support was lacking greatly in that it seemed as though I was communicating with a gradeschooler who had been on the job maybe a week. This is the worst choice we have ever made. They cut our old phone lines when installed so it would cost us $40k to switch back to any other carrier. These phones do not work the customer service is bad too. We can not contact each other in the same building let alone sustain clear calls. I would never think this company is someone to work with. They care nothing about customer support. They advertise that there system is set up for ease of management but they force you to call them for what should be the simplest of functions. They also over bill by excess regulatory fees. They never work with customers to resolve problems in a professional manner. In fact, they threaten to cancel the customer's service whenever there is problem that they do not want to address. These problems go to the hightest levels of management. Net2Phone is a robust replacement for our old phone system. It is fully customizable. Once, I was about to have a bad experience, filled out a survey, and within minutes had my answer and both an email and another tech called me with the confirmation and clarification. I was more than satisfied, and time and time again the support team has delivered -Excellent customer service! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Net2Phone is completely customizable, which unfortunately means you have to build it into a complete solution, it has all the tools but if I had to choose one thing that could be improved I would love to see the Help files completely reorganized to illustrate and highlight Net2Phones potential so together we could achieve the optimum configuration for our needs- just to be clear the support team members are the best and their support is awesome. I would just like to feel more comfortable about my system knowledge and make sure my requests make sense given the current architecture Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy sales process and onboarding. We use the bare minimum of N2P functionality - desk phones, text messages, holiday schedules, and mobile app/call forwarding. We rarely, if ever, have issues with missed texts or dropped calls. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Customer service is horrendous. 2 situations lead to this review:
1. Our bank account was randomly drafted in the middle of the month for double our usual bill. After much back and forth and half answers from a customer service rep, they confirmed that was a mistake on their end and credited the account. The process of getting to that obvious conclusion was painful and a waste of our time.
2. We canceled one of our lines and returned the leased phone we have had for a year or so. We were asked to return the phone in its original packaging with the manual - which we did. They charged us $300 stating that the phone did not work. As proof they sent a photo of the phone screen that had some fingerprint smudges. After putting up a fight, they agreed to only charge $150. I am a big fan of how user friendly the administrative portal is to use. It is straight forward, easy to navigate, and allows for frequent changes as business needs dictate. It is rarely time consuming to orchestrate any changes, and the analytics area provides a lot of valuable business insight about user's activity levels. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The onboarding process was a bit time consuming and arduous for my 5 office organization. The combination of porting phone numbers and configuring the headsets was lengthy. It is fair to note that some delays were out of net2phone's hands, such as the turnaround time on porting numbers. Net2phone made the process as easy as they could. I have used several different VOIP providers and Net2phone delivers on service and price. I have setup many clients of mine with Net2phone and each and every time thee Net2phone staff has done an amazing job on the setup and onboarding and when I have needed help with phones and devices they always are 10/10. There few if any downsides and actually their lack of a true inside sales team is a benefit to most companies because it means you will get the best service using your trusted internet services agent to get connected with Net2phone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
