I mostly use the Insight module and it has a lot of feautures. I am able to easily manage all of my candidates through the recruitment steps and track all of my correspondence with them. The learning curve is isn't very steep. It is a no frills ATS with everything I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am looking forward to more design control on things like the supplemental questionnaire section. It would be great to be able to copy questions directly in an exam plan rather than loading them into the item bank and then grabbing it from there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
NEOGOV is the best on the market for centralized HR needs. What I like most is that they are continuously looking to improve their product to make HR's lives easier! Their platform is intuitive and easy to use for our employees, helps streamline and track various workflows, and gets information to employees when they need it. Our municipal government organization uses NEOGOV Insight/Online Hiring Center (OHC), as well as Onboard. We have been NEOGOV Insight/OHC users for the past six years, and in the last year, we purchased the Onboard product. Onboard has been a great solution during the COVID-19 pandemic. We now have our candidates complete pre-employment forms within Onboard, and once we're ready for them to start, we have them complete their new hire and benefits paperwork within NEOGOV. Pre-COVID, we had been meeting with new hires on their first day. We are also utilizing e-Offers, and Candidate Text Messaging has been more effective than I can even express! As with any product, there are hiccups that we run into, but overall, we don't have any strong dislikes about NEOGOV! The customer representatives, implementation consultants, and account managers have been nothing but helpful. If I had to comment on anything, creating forms in Onboard could be a little more user-friendly (e.g., form fields could have more formatting and alignment options like Adobe Acrobat). It would also be nice if OHC and Onboard communicated with each other. Overall, nothing has been detrimental to our experience, and we have created workarounds for most issues we have discovered. It makes the screening process a breeze! Assigning points to the Supplemental Questions and having the system automatically rank the applicants is fantastic! We still review and validate the applicants answered the questions truthfully and accurately, but it saves so much time and streamlines the process! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there was a report that included the Job Posting and the point values for the Supplemental Questions. This way Human Resources can help departments ensure their questions deliver the most impact. Right now we print/pdf the job posting and manually write in the point values to send to departments. We don't share the point values with the applicants, but this important process helps streamline the overall recruitment process. Departments love to be able to determine what knowledge, skills and abilities are most important to be successful in the job and making sure those needs are reflected in the job advertising. NEOGOV is a very user-friendly platform but I really appreciate the user support. The support team is knowledgeable, friendly and the hours that support is available is convenient. There is a separate User Support for Applicants so we don't need to spend a lot of time troubleshooting. We can send them to the same knowledgeable, friendly and available support team. Delivery/Read receipts on any notices sent. Very very handy when applicants indicate they did not receive a message, however we can clearly see when it was sent and when it was read. In this day and age of hiring, candidates have no sense of responsibility. If they fail to attend an interview or appointment, they will immediately blame the HR analyst indicating that they never received notice of the information. The ability for an HR analyst to provide a screen shot of the notice, along with the delivery and read receipt instantly changes the climate of the conversation with the applicant.
Along the same lines, I personally, am contacted regarding us removing candidates from consideration. It is extremely beneficial that I can access any candidate's profile and quickly be able to have the details as to why the candidate was removed, the duration of the removal, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lack of customization of user preferences. When using OHC, it would be beneficial to be able to default views; ie: when looking at candidate lists, default the columns that are shown - user specific. Each user may utilize different columns, and each time you navigate away from that specific list, you have to reset the column orders if you do not use the default.
The inability to combine text/email notices. It would be great to have a very generic text notification that goes out at the time that an email notice goes out that simply informs the applicant to log into their profile to see the correspondence sent.
The inability to modify positions on a requisition once created (I understand this is likely to ensure compliance in not utilizing old lists for new vacancies, but many times I am hiring for 10+ positions. However, due to the time of processing of our candidates, that positions I currently have vacant are NOT the ones that will be utilized by that job posting. While this is designed for vacancy based hiring, due to the month long processing times of candidates, we MUST have some sort of a candidate pool, which makes it impossible to accurate assess position numbers. This system is very modern and ever-changing to adapt to the needs of its users. There have been multiple situations during the implementation of newer modules that we have reached out to our implementation team(s) and, after providing our feedback, the system changes to reflect that feedback within a matter of just a couple of weeks.
If we have questions or need assistance, the customer service department is on top of its game at all times and responds in a quick, efficient manner.
It is a complete and modern talent management system for the modern workforce. It is geared toward the public sector - which is obviously important to us, being a local government. The price point for the products are geared toward the pubic sector as well. There aren't many other similar software systems that we could afford, as most of them are aimed at large, private sector corporations with the revenue driving abilities to afford the larger HRIS systems.

Truthfully, there aren't many areas or items of the system that I, or my team, dislike. It is a complete and modern talent management system for the modern workforce.
There are a few times when an update has been rolled out system-wide that affects all of the modules (dashboards, interface, functionality, etc.) and it doesn't seem to come with much warning. There are emails sent out letting us know that there will be an update, but it doesn't go into much detail.
