Geotab is a feature-rich telematics provider with a broad range of applications and functionality for fleets. It’s a well-developed product that delivers real-time, actionable insights. Reporting is especially powerful and is one of the most commonly used features in our organization, both through the out-of-the-box reports and the custom reports. The integrations it offers are also very powerful and we use regularly.

The User Interface/portal can be intimidating for first time users and slightly cumbersome but with enough training and guidance it becomes more familiar over time.

We would also say that maintenance tracking side of the application is also very basic and not a replacement for more advanced software applications that specialize in this space. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It allows us to track our moving assets, generate reports on fuel mileage, notify mechanics when trucks are nearing their service hours, and pull dash cam footage for review. the ability to one click zoom in on a group of assets feels quick and smooth has the benefit of quickly review where any group of assets are parked/moving. The reliance on cellular data has become a major hindrance for us. Even simple valleys along the road can cause our units to lose connection. When our drivers travel into the Northwest Territories, they often don’t have a strong enough signal, which prevents us from tracking them to confirm they’re still moving and safe. Although the units do come back online eventually, the downtime creates a stressful situation because we’re unable to communicate with our drivers until they reach an area with a stronger signal. The platform is user friendly and our drivers are able to learn how to navigate it easily. I like that our drivers can use it on their company issued tablets as well as their personal phones and the data is seamless no matter what device they use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish it was more customizable. I also wish the reporting was easier to use. I also wish there was better training available for drivers. Specifically on how Geotab manages the split sleeper provision. A lot of our violations come from drivers not realizing their Geotab registered a split sleeper after a 2 hour break but they don’t do 8 in the sleeper so it goes back and takes that extra 2 hours from them. I think there should be a button that they have to select to use the split sleeper instead of it being automatically applied. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The platform is easy to navigate. I would consider it very user-friendly. The map and location is easy to understand at a glance. It came in very useful when I needed to check the location of my technicians due to a wildfire in the are. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Many features are not available to us due to our chosen rate plan. I was not at this company when they onboarded Geotab, so it looks like we are not takinng full advantage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the way that Geotab's whole ecosystem works. From the API to the GO device itself, from MyAdmin to MyGeotab, and from the IOX to the GO device, everything integrates smoothly. The initial setup was pretty straightforward since the device and the MyGeotab app are 'plug and play,' so there aren't any worries about those issues. I also appreciate that Geotab is the number one fleet management system in the world as far as I'm concerned—Samsara and Motive don't come close. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The level of documents available for us engineers working with the GO device in a more deep way is not enough. Maybe if there could be a special channel for questions or some other way to be in touch with engineers that know about the deep stuff would be great. I don’t have any negative feelings or feedback about Geotab. After nine years of using it, I feel like I fully understand both the company and the product. At this point, I honestly can’t think of anything constructive to add that would help them improve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the safety and compliance tabs that provide a snapshot of the current status to help me track progress. The details such as the log data and collisions and speed profile are helpful to help evaluate the drivers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I would like to see more trip forecasting features so I can plan efficient routes for the drivers based on upcoming weather conditions, road construction, road hazards such as large vehicle accidents that could cause trip delays or re-routing unexpectedly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that it operates like a data infrastructure company with an open platform philosophy, unmatched hardware expandability and deep engine diagnosis. It also has a security achitecture. The UI is personalized, it's an open platform that supports integrations, performance is fast with high fidelity daya and reliability, pricing remains modular with value over initial cost, support and onboarding is streamlined via the MyInstall platform, and AI has improved big time in 2026 with Geotab Ace. The middleman support model is the biggest downside because they sell exclusively through aithorized resellers. The UI/UX could feel overloaded, the mobile app has poerformance issues and can drain the phone's battery, the cost model is a bit complex and it requires proprietary hardware which could be problematric if you wannat switch providers in the future. The thing I like best about GeoTab is that i can clearly see my driving scores and ratings. We get bonuses based on our driving scores up against the rest of the fleet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This is jsut a personal thing that i am having a hard time getting used to. Our management told us that based on what they have learned from our driving safety cards, they want us to not make left turns. Accidents are way more likely to happen when a left turn is being made, so they want us to make 3 right turns intead. This is hard for me, lol. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The plug-and-play design makes it straightforward to get started. It’s easy to customize, and it’s been a reliable tool for managing an entire fleet across different areas. I also like the smart tracking, which only sends data when something important happens.
