The Trakstar platform has improved the organization of our evaluation processes. We've seen a substantial increase in on-time completion of reviews, and stakeholders have all expressed satisfaction with the platform. Customer support is very responsive. The interface is easy to use and mostly intuitive which reduces the need for time consuming training. The customer support during implementation was outstanding making implementation simple and quick. As an administrator, I greatly appreciate the ability to proxy any employee in order to assist in troubleshooting issues that an employee or a manager may be having. Features such as the ability for employees to post notes for each other, 360 reviews, goal setting, and recommended performance improvement statements also make the program very beneficial. Some of the steps in the approval process are easily missed by managers. This is primarily due to a double acknowledgment that is required at certain steps and an inconsistent location for where to make that acknowledgement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that Trakstar offers so many different features. It's not my first rodeo with Trakstar because I have used it with other companies I have been before and let me tell you it never disappoints. It 's very easy to navigate and implement. We recently started using the 360 reviews and the best part is their customer support. They are very quick to respond whenever there are any glitches or if I have any questions. We use it regularly for our annual performance reviews. Another feature we use is Sales Performance. Love the new timeline on employee's profiles so you can easily switch between current review, manager scoring, and future goal setting. The cascading feature is great for pushing corporate goals, or managers to push team goals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our review years are Jan to Dec, but the scoring goes until April. We like that we can have our future review avaliable to start building goals for the new year while the scoring of the previous year is still occuring, but when an employee changes managers, they don't have a Set Goals button until the previous year is finalized by the previous manager - we have educated managers to click into the employee profile to access the future review, but it is an awkward workaround.
We also adjusted our corporate workplan to include stretch targets - which allows the result for those goals to go up to 150%. The system doesn't allow this, so our workaround is to combine the trakstar result with our corporate workplan results outside of the system.
Our Corporate Workplan goals span across the company, to cascade these goals, we create them on the CEO's profile so we are not limited to who we can or can't cascade goals to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is clunky and making bulk edits is very difficult if not impossible. Particularly if you run different performance review processes. For example, we have new hire performance reviews in one process and bi-annual reviews in another. But, I can't make changes to rating scales for example, without changing them both or marking individual performance expectations differently so that they *don't* get updated. It's just complicated.
I wish there was a way to select which process or which positions you'd like to apply bulk changes to. Currently, there's no way to indicate where you want broader changes applied.
There's also no way to bulk delete things. For example, if we want to delete all of the completed and canceled measurements so that they don't appear in the employee's next review, I have to manually go in and delete them one-by-one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that you can create any kind of review you want in here. You can create your questions, you can use samples, etc. You can add multiple positions and departments and set how the reviews flow through supervisors.

The downsides are that it is extremely convoluted and difficult to navigate. It randomly changes reviews and review flow. It is also difficult to get help when you need it. You have to make an appointment and wait for them to be available, so that it really hard to get things done immediately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Trakstar makes performance review time smooth and simple for staff. Once employees are acclimated to the system, the can go in and easily do their self assessments prior to the manager's review. Managers also seem to like the easiness of having their reviews all online and in one place. Notifications help managers to stay on track and on time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At the beginning of the performance review season, some our employees could not find their self-reviews to complete. This appears to be due to incomplete employee approvals at the very end of the prior years review cycle. It would be helpful to get some sort of report at the end of the review cycle alerting us to who hasn't signed off on their prior year assessment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that the goals and performance-tracking measurements can be broken down quite extensively. Each goal can be spread across multiple sub-goals or checkpoints, with tasks under each of them.
