Easy to build digital business processes, huge integration availability with other SAAS . Easy to learn. Great for building apps with the 3 tier( UI, business logic and storage) architecture . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Difficult to build complex user interface, has a lot of threshold related limitations. Implementing complex business logic in Excel like formula bar might be challenge. Difficult to collaborate with multiple devs. Power automate versioning is bad Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Power Automate’s RPA features are incredibly intuitive and integrate seamlessly with the rest of the Microsoft ecosystem. It allowed me to automate processes in legacy systems that didn’t support API access, and the desktop recorder made it easy to build flows without needing to code from scratch. It’s especially helpful when dealing with data transfers between Excel, Outlook, and desktop apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The desktop flow runner occasionally feels sluggish or crashes if the UI changes slightly in the target application. Debugging issues can sometimes be time-consuming, especially when error messages are vague. Also, the licensing model for RPA features can be confusing and pricey for small teams or occasional users. We utilized RPA on three large projects that were taking staff an average of 60 hours per month - now all the processes run automatically once a month and employees don't have to do mindless data entry for quite as long.
I was surprised how robust the bots capabilities are, and how easy it was to get it to work with our very niche ERP system. We had no problems whatsoever with it once we got the automation working and have been using all three of them every month for over a year now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Error checking/validating can take awhile, and the AI error check is not quite there yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
That it is easy to learn, use and has many features which are useful for an organization. The implementation of automated flows are very easy with power automate. Also it is easy to integrate with othe MS tools like Power BI, Sharepoint and Power Apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I recognized that invoking third party APIs are a bit of an hard task with the limited actions power automate has. it only provides the HTTP action, which we have to use both for the authentication and the actual request. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It ties in with the Microsoft 365 cloud environment seamlessly! You can create a custom application for your company and design its look and feel in power apps. If you wanted to collect data in the field for example and needed an app for employees to upload pictures, notes, etc, you could design an app and have the data get loaded wherever you want in share point. Perhaps it goes into an excel sheet, database, using it with power automate can allow automated data capturing to occur as well as endless other automations in 365. There are also app templates you can reference. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Steep learning curve. Microsoft is attempting to make creating apps be easy and require no coding or low code. You need some Visual Basic knowledge still. You also need to understand how data loops and setting up variables and get and set functions. There are lots of help information but if you have no experience, you will need to hire someone or study for a while to make use of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What i like best about power automate is the flow chart format the trigger and actions are presented in, the ability to connect with various connectors within and outside the 365 packages, the ability to generate and create flows with copilot and the email notifications on weekly flow failures. I dislike the expression formulas. They are easy to mess up and the syntax isn't really clear. Some actions aren't available for e.g there's a start of month variable but there's none for the end of the month. The expression formulas aren't user friendly but it's a vital part of all flows. Additionally, the limited run history of only 28 days hinders the ability to review past runs and troubleshoot issues effectively. Also, some performance issues such as failures and timeouts occur without clear reasons or guidance for debugging especially the "get a PDF of a signed aggreement" action with the adobe sign integration Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the ability to automate tasks that envolve the use of Microsoft 365 suite. It is easy to implement, due to it's intuitive user interface, templates, catalog and flows editor. I like the option of testing the flow with manual triggers, and it is easy to debug the executions. It has ease of integration with Microsoft Surveys, Microsoft OneNote, Microsoft Planner, etc. Regarding its frequency of use, it is something that you use anytime you need to create or edit a flow. Once all flows are in production, there is no point in accessing the tool, since it is doing its automated taks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The lack of integrations outside of the Microsoft 365 suite. Since there are many tools for analytics, surveys, data collection and integration (including tag managers and real-time data platforms), it would be great to have connectors from other vendors. Many of the connectors are in preview state and/or require additional licenses/payments to accomplish tasks that are not natively available in the power platform. Regarding customer support, it lacks training material, and many features required in Microsoft blog take much time to be implemented. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the things that I like the most about it is that whenever I'm in the situation on which I need to go back, and do the same thing all over again... and again... and again, I always look for "Power Automate the boring thing I want to automate". Almost every time it just works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are a lot of things on the Microsoft ecosystem that could be integrated on this tool but besides that, as a developer, I would love an API to automate even further my workflow! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. if one has M365 which includes PowerBI pro, then integration with other M365 applicaiton like, excel in one drive, sharepoint etc becomes very easy.
2. Easy to install
3. Compare to Tableau, which cost ~$1500/- for even using the application, we can use the PowerBI tool for free and if want to publish and share the dashboard then only we pay. This is specially helpful for beginners to learn the tool without shelling out money.
4. Best suited for daily analysis of the data Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. if the dataset are large and complex relationships are developed, then the performance decreases.
2. Some visulization which are third party are expensive in PowerBI, quite frankly this should have been default visulization in PowerBI example : Radar Chart, Box plot Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the best things that I absolutely love about Power BI is how effortless it is to interact with data. You can have ugly, raw data and present it in neat, clean, interactive visuals with minimal effort. The dashboards update instantly, and it interacts with nearly any data source that you can dream up. I also like that you don't have to be a coding guru to get into the details and get some useful information out of it. And since it works so well together with other Microsoft tools such as Excel and Teams, it fits right into the workflow without an issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the new features especially the more advanced ones are a bit difficult to accustom yourself to at first, and DAX formulas aren't necessarily straightforward either. Also, the desktop edition only works for Windows, which could be limiting if you are using a Mac. Sometimes larger datasets can take longer too. It's wonderful software, but there is most definitely a learning curve if you want to squeeze out all you can from it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Microsoft Power BI has a flexible and easy-to-use platform, making it accessible to users of all experience levels.
It is super complete, it offers several features, but our favorite is the interactive dashboards, it is a key feature dashboards that summarize the most relevant data of our business, including metrics, KPI's, and other types of related information.
In addition, dashboards can be adapted to the company's style and allow you to add filters, search and other navigation elements that make it easier to analyze relevant information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does not integrate with network monitoring tools, having that integration would be wonderful to analyze network data without having to resort to other software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
