Top Rated Meditech Expanse Alternatives
I enjoyed the more simplistic way of filing patients information through meditech Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Unfortunately Meditech is on a downfall and being outdated. Our company has moved to a newer program but we still use Meditech as a reference to patients information, or as a back up for information Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

User friendly, clean workspace, not a lot of extra steps Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes too many ways to get to a place in the echart, but not a consistent way to get back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Uncommonly easy to quickly gain proficiency in the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is no field for doctors to enter an "assessment," which is the most important part of any doctor's note.
More important: When medication orders expire, the notification to the doctor is so subtle that it's easy to miss--in our institution, several patients have suffered permanent harm because the system automatically stopped essential medication in ways the doctor couldn't notice, then the patients stopped receiving the medication, and then the patient suffered (in more than one case) permanent harm. I like that it gives you both Check boxes as well as free text when filling out the forms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the text boxes will be blacked out and won’t allow you to type into no matter how many times you attempt to reset it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This EHR is functional. It doesn’t have a bunch of bells and whistles which is also its strength. It is easy to train someone to use this software and you do not have to worry about getting lost in difficult menus/settings/encounters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are no bells and whistles. It is not visually appealing and it cannot truly customize your individual needs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Personally have worked with so many softwares while in this industry but the thing that i find good about this particular software is that it reduces the errors made when one had to record all patient information manually on paper, but with this it is electronically, the software also enables the patients to be treated more accurately as the user can access all patient information from it, the software also can recognize and predict diagnosis enabling one to give accurate treatment and lastly is that the software is able to keep patient data safe and not easily accessible by third party. Personally the only thing i dislike about the software is that it requires electricity to be run fully, i think they should come up with a way that it can even fit on smartphones so that it can be easily accessible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Simple user interface, very good for use with complicated tasks. Easy to get to any task within a few clicks. Can be logged on to multiple work stations around the lab which is great for efficiency. Very fast at loading most tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes can lag due to high volume, could use some more customization features that would help different users be more efficient. Hot keys would be helpful as well, if there was one for a certain page I could quickly get to that screen asap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Meditech is very easy and convenient to navigate through. This is a hospital-wide used software system that is the same in all departments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like the same thing with all technology is that there are often times glitches or downtime that cause errors to arise. I don't like that sometimes there are users that are able to access certain information, but then it isn't available for others. It is always a hassle to go through the process of gaining access to information when you are moving to another position or gaining privileges. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing about Meditech is the ease of use when it comes to the functions. It looks very much like an old DOS system which can be very familiar, but it runs just like that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's so slow and doesn't look as modern as the EHRs we have today Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It was fairly easy to learn to navigate it all. Easy to locates physician notes. Pretty easy to document, they do have a copy and paste feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is not as comprehensive for charting as other systems are. It has strict pre-filled options when often times what you need to chart does not fall under those descriptors. There are nurse double checks for unnecessary things that cause some wasted time. The task list is the worst. In order to find more sections that you need to document on, you have to "add" them to the task list. And nothing flows between sections. Some areas will ask the same documentation questions, and even if you have already filled it out somewhere else, you have to duplicate documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how easy this program is to move around it and be able to do everything in one program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
there would be nothing i dislike about this program it is perfect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
