The most helpful thing about makeshift is how it can sync all your shifts to your personal calendar. It's great how easily you can dubplicate recurring availability without having to fill it in multiple times. The home page is well organised and provides great central access to all things you need to do on makeshift. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The widget for IOS is no longer available. It used to be and now since the IOS system updated you can no longer have a widget. It would be great if this could be fixed and can be user friendly both for the widget page and central homepages on IOS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to sync the work schedule to your own mobile device allows you to stay attentive and on schedule. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there was a 'copy paste' feature for planning and adding employee schedules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that I can see other Medical Dept. positions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- I would like to be able to copy shifts with employees from previous weeks of my choice, not just given the option of copying from the previous week.
- I would like to see a history of when the schedule was made, posted, and when changes were made.
- When viewing the schedule by position, I would like to see at a glance who is on schedule instead of having to go into the shift for a specific role and then clicking who is on shift. If at least, be able to see the employee initials in the positions view. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software works great for our staff. MakeShift can accomodate booking shifts across our 5 locations, across multiple roles and different levels of certifications. It has saved us hours of work when processing payroll and when creating and publishing schedules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would very much like to see a communication app integrated into MakeShift to allow for company wide posts, as well as department and individual chats to take place. We have to use a seperate app at the moment and it is cumbersome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is a small app that downloads quick, more inportant than people think. You can assign multiple administators or Department leads. One person can be assigneed to multiple departments and they all show when looking at a calendar. Another positive are the templtes, makes assigning hours real easy. Seasonal employees can mark thier availability and the managers to when they can work. The app updates realtime and does not have a lag when shifts are assigned. Honestly nothing isn't to like. It does everything we could want and more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The schedule view is easy to look at. But overall I am not a fan and I believe it would be more useful for a restaurant or store. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- I personally find it challenging to use Makeshift as it adds an additional item for us to remember and essentially duplicates the information from our Excel spreadsheet.
- I believe that Makeshift is not user-friendly and it becomes cumbersome to update it every time there is a change in the schedule or when someone calls off.
- The requirement to "add/delete" an employee from my schedule, especially if they are from another office, is something that I am not fond of.
- While Makeshift works well for general employees, it becomes more complex with Mohs.
- The option to pick up or drop a shift is not applicable to our company as it is more suited for a restaurant or retail setting.
- Considering that many of the features in Makeshift are not utilized, it does not seem cost-effective for our company.
- Employees do not have access to Makeshift, which adds to the inefficiency.
- I am not in favor of all the admins being displayed on the schedule. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how simple it makes the process of moving/reassigning my team's shifts. I get a lot of requests during certain weeks, and it's all a breeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Color pallete. The bland/blanche colors that are the same for each and every menu/ screen makes it more confusing to figure out which page i'm viewing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

MakeShift simplifies scheduling effortlessly! Plus, its integration with ADP Enhanced Time makes it the ideal solution for our needs. We considered Hot Schedules, but its lack of ADP integration made us choose otherwise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only drawback is that if a team member used MakeShift at a previous employer, we encounter an error during import and need to contact MakeShift to have the email address removed from their old profile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I loooove all the tools that app has and that it is that easy to use . You can build the schedules really fast with all the tools that are in the software, book days off, vacations, etc. Amazing !Great job! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love everything in that perfect software Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
That staff have the convenience to drop and pick up shifts. Better time management for the scheduler. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Is does not fully communicate with ADP. If we approve a partial day time off request, it completely wiped out the day in makeshift. Also, when an employee cancels an approved vacation request in ADP, it stays wiped out in makeshift. Not convenient at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
