The thing about Magento is that it is easy to use and especially when you want to create an online store. Plug in's are easy to access and not all of them are paid, which means if you have minimum budget you are able to build something is both safe and easily accessible. The problem is that when you use Opensource there is always the risk of vulnerability. Attacks are most common on Magento because it is seen as holding the financial transaction hence it becomes prone to hackers. However, should you be in a position to secure your site you are sure to enjoy it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

A lot of community help for problems you can't solve on your own.
Good and intuitive backend design Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Still buggy for some features although version 2 is more than 2 years on market. Actually no solution for multi-stock-inventory, and also not good in handling configurable products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Coming to Magento from e-commerce solutions like WooCommerce on Wordpress I was at first taken aback at what seemed like limited admin options, an outdated admin UI, and the need to edit php code to do many things I might have expected to use a GUI for.
But as time has progressed I have come to realise how much power and flexibility is built into the platform, that all the most necessary capabilities are indeed baked into it, and that the theming model is actually very powerful once you understand how it works. It's unlikely you will be able to do everything you want using the GUI tools in Magento and sooner or later you will find the only way to do something is to edit php code - or pay someone to do that.
Bulk import of products to get started is very fickle in Magento 1 (but seems much better in our Magento 2 test site). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

-I like Magento because it's user interface is very reliable, easy eye-capture features and also unknowledgeable users can use easily.
-Magento has so many functionalities that become smooth life of businessmen.
-Magento has a bunch of features like a catalog where users can easily handle their products and
Sales tab where users can easily know their sales of products like the total number of selling products
and show revenue of the store.
-I also like Marketing features where users can boost their products and sales
-Magento has so many versions, In 2.3 it added page builder for creating a simple attracting website and also added Google Two-Step Verification for security purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have no idea about dislike but it is a very costly enterprise version so avoid middle-class businessmen. It has also lack of Technical software support and very hard for theme customization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Magento Open Source is truly customisable and through the local code pool, it facilities changes very well. The strong sense of community, will mean you are not alone and have a big open network of experienced people at hand to help.
The User Interface is equally easy to use. Comes with a variety of templates from blank to responsive. So, don't have to even start from scratch. .

Although M2 ("Magento 2") has negated this, the M1 ("Magento 1") has incorporated lots of things in an old-fashioned way.
The M1 architecture is not too flexible and easily upgradable. For instance, moving from Magento 2.0 to Magento 2.x versions are much easier than moving from 1.0 to 1.x versions.
In short, Magento 2 will be much better option in terms of upgrading for future use as compared to Magento 1.x.
