Lucid has been a great addition to our workflow. We are a global video production company and before the Lucid integration, we were stuck endlessly uploading and downloading project files and assets if/when projects switched hands. With every significant process change, you can experience friction with the rollout, and Lucid's integration is no different. The internet speeds needed for smooth playback have been one of our main hurdles outside the US offices, but we are learning how to overcome that while reaping the benefits of a cloud-based workflow. It's ease of use and I don't have to worry about bringing a harddrive back and forth between home and in the office. Because I don't have access to large bandwidth speeds, extra management is needed to make the most of Lucid, such pre-pinning data before working on projects, ensuring down/up speeds aren't consuming the entire office/home bandwidth, otherwise projects can be unworkable. Many features are also used through the command prompt which can put off some users not too familar with using the command prompt. Would be nice to implement more inside the control panel. It's inexpensive first of all. It makes it easy to justify even if I don't get all the benefits out of it that a larger post-production firm might. It's fairly responsive. There have been a few times I have had to "pin" footage to my local cache, but for the most part, it is seamless and just like working off a local drive or NAS. The file sharing feature is very useful for our team. We use it for video editing many ad creative files, so it's very good to share common raw footage or as redundancy if a team member becomes unavailable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Three things: 1. at times the speed is very slow, even to load up a folder, which is disruptive 2. there's unexpected downtime where it's unusable and we lose access to files, and 3. the program is resource intensive on my computer Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
