Lucidlink solved the problem of collaborating on large Adobe Premiere files and other video files for async work. It was fairly easy to deploy and manage. Our use case was pretty simple and it handled it very well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Their SSO integration was a little tricky and also the MDM deployment documentation kept changing during implementation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Seemless integration into my OS providing reliable cloud storage for my business needs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike that I need multiple cloud storage services, using dropbox, google drive, icloud, lucidlink, frame.io, backblaze and more. Would be great if lucid provided the same functionality of all of the above so I could stop using them Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Remote access to your files from anywhere with different levels of access. I find this really useful for allowing access levels to different people in my team, ie. client access vs artist access.
It's responsive and fast and works well from both PC/Mac access.
Sales advisor offered good follow up support and the tech intros were great too. Online documentation means I can send how to videos to my team without having to explain access myself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Installing the platform on my mac was a bit of a pain. Whilst I had no issue installing it, I worry that this isn't suitable for time strapped clients, and they end up requesting a weTransfer link instead. I have mentioned this to my lucidlank sales advisor and was advised that this is something Lucid are looking at. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
our company uses Lucid link company wide. we have a lot of team events and obviously that comes up with media coverage, photos, videos etc. The best feature I like about lucid link is that it enables teams to work on large files simultaneously from different locations, improving productivity.
We are a marketing company so we always have huge media files to store, lucid link takes care of it seamlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Since it's cloud-based, a strong and reliable internet connection is essential for smooth operation. Poor internet connectivity can affect performance.Unlike local storage, LucidLink’s functionality is limited if you need to work offline, which can be a drawback in situations with unreliable internet access. Fantastically fast, no waiting about for files to scan or index, once you start uploading a file to Lucid it becomes visable for the other team members. The ability to get granular with user permissions is also a big plus, being able to say that Team 1 get read and write permissions to a folder but Team 2 only need Read access is great from an accountability side, also means we can limit the amount of 'sticky fingers' from accidentaly deleting something and control who has access to what. This is currently being worked on I believe, but each time the app updates we need to re-approve the system kernel extensions for Lucid on our macs, some of our users are technically minded and breeze through it, but for others they get stuck and find it confusing. Currently Lucid has been doing some very snazzy work with Kandji to have those approved automatically which is great. If this could be rolled out to more MDM services in the future like Mosyle and Jamf that would also be grand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It allows us to work from almost anywhere with little to no issues. It was relatively easy to set up and use. For a new user to start using the tool it does not take much training or knowledge of how the tool works to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Previous file versions are difficult to get to, but still available.
- If the LucidLink Service goes down, you will be dead in the water.
- Taking local backups can be difficult.
- I have experienced several weird little bug with the system, but they are resolved easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
That it is intuitive and I dont need training for the team to use it. When we do need help the help desk gets back to us very quickly, usually within 30 mins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being able to preview files within finder would be helpful.
Being able to work on excel files at the same time as multiple users would be helpful as we still have to use sharepoint for this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A fast working cloud based server that allows our editors to share projects and assets, help each other out, and speed upload/downloads in a safe and secure way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Setting up the software on Apple M1,M2,M3's are near impossible. So many issues we encountered. Implementation was not easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fact that I can work remotly with my editors in Mexico (I'm in Los Angeles) with out wasting time because I have to reconnect files every single time is worth every dollar! Before LucidLnk I used to have two hard drives one in. Mexico and one in LA (I still do) but now we only upload the footage recorden 1 time and we work with the same virtual/cloud drive with any hasles. The platform is really straight forward to use for me and my team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I didnt undestand the copy/snapshots but that doesnt mean it doesnt work or I dislike that function. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
