What is LiteSpeed Web Server?

LiteSpeed Web Server (LSWS) is compatible with commonly used Apache features, including mod_rewrite, .htaccess, and mod_security. LSWS can load Apache configuration files directly and works as a drop-in replacement for Apache while fully integrating with popular control panels — replacing Apache in less than 15 minutes with zero downtime. Unlike other frontend proxy-based solutions, LSWS replaces all Apache functions, simplifying use and making the transition from Apache easy while also allowing your team to move confidently with little-to-no retraining.

by a team of engineers led by George Wang.It started with LiteSpeed Web Server: a high-performance, event-driven web server, built from the ground up, with the goal of improving internet speed and reducing system resources.When we wanted better server capacity, we built the innovative LiteSpeed Cache engine. When we wanted to integrate intelligent caching with popular web applications, we built a series of handy plugins for WordPress, Magento, Joomla, and more.When we wanted fast and accurate cached content on a global scale, we built QUIC.cloud CDN: the world’s first CDN capable of caching dynamic WordPress content at the CDN level.Every time our team has encountered a bottleneck on the quest for a faster internet, we’ve done the work and built a solution.Will there be more bottlenecks and more challenges ahead? We sure hope so. Because we’ll be right here, innovating and providing unique antidotes to common speed problems. What do you like best about LiteSpeed Web Server?

Litespeed is extremely fast compared to traditional Apache servers that I’ve used in the past. Litespeed support is also very open and responsive to issues and suggestions for improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LiteSpeed Web Server?

There’s not much to dislike about litespeed. It has every feature I’ve ever needed and then some. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is LiteSpeed Web Server solving and how is that benefiting you?

Site performance is always a concern for us and litespeed continues to outperform every other server technology we use in that area. Clients that host with us continuously outperform clients that host in traditional services, even after we implement all of our other techniques for increasing performance.
