Top Rated Kumospace Alternatives

The best thing about Kumospace is the element of collaboration and connection it's offered the team. It has allowed our fully remote team to have a better sense of the availability and status of the others on our team. The setting allows for creative expression and thoughtfulness that are hard to create in a fully virtual team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are a few quirks as with every platform but honestly nothing I would say I dislike. I do wish there was a way to sync spotify to have it playing in a certain space or office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that I can see my team members. It is simple to use. I like that it has channels and announcements that can be shared and saved so that team members can review when needed. Customer support is always quick and ready to respond to my questions. It was an easy setup and able to quickly get everyone on board and integrate. Everyone now uses it as soon as they log in. I wish when we are in a group meeting that it would look more like zoom. The icons of people are a bit small when someone is presenting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My boss asked me to find some sort of platform where the entire team can see each other and be more accessible to each other as we all work remotely. Kumospace fits that to a tee. It is so much easier to just pop over to a coworker's office or our boss's office for questions instead of messaging back and forth. Being able to decorate the office space has also allowed everyone the creative freedom to decorate their own offices. Everyone loves it! It is still a work in process to remember to close your office door and/or mark yourself away if you are truly not available. We also get a little bit of a chuckle when we see our boss moving towards our office for a chat but we feel much more accessible to each other this way instead of having to message "hey are you available for a call". It took some time to play around for us to get it integrated fully, especially those who are not as tech savvy. We now use this everyday! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have had some glitches with Kumospace, especially when screen sharing for presentations. It does not seem to play nicely with Indesign. We've also had issues previously where someone might get kicked out of Kumospace due to losing internet access and when they try to get back in once internet connection is restored, they are unable to and have to restart their computer first. I did reach out once to customer support to make them aware of these issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like how easy it was to get started.Kumospace makes remote work feel more natural. The sense of proximity is a game-changer—conversations flow easily, and it actually feels like we’re in the same space.
Getting started was a breeze, and customizing our space made it feel like home.
Overall, a fantastic tool for any team looking to stay connected and engaged. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not much to dislike! Would love the option to explore other spaces for inspiration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to have team meetings, receive clients, do quick one-on-one meetings within the team... All without the need to create and share meeting links. Everybody can create their own office, and you can create creative meeting spaces. Clients love the unique experience of visiting our virtual HQ on Kumospace. It was easy to implement, and their customer support was excellent when I needed it. We use it every single day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Everything works well and is stable, but there's not a whole lot of ongoing development (new features etc.) it seems. I like the stability but would love to see new, useful features introduced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Kumospace fosters the water-cooler moments that you lose as a distributed team. By enabling our team to see one another in the office when we're working late, see the engineering team brainstorming in a conference room or to hold all-hands meetings in the Board room really adds a level of team culture that was absent with just Slack. Frankly there are very few things I dislike about Kumospace, our team adopted it quickly and enthusiastically.
Maybe one friction point is that we would love to bring outiders to out office and while the account setup is pretty easy, most people don't understand how to control their avatars or how to switch between the views immediately so it makes it harder to bring in clients, investors, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've tested a few other virtual office spaces before, but Kumospace is still my favorite. I find it to be the most visutally appealing and it's also very easy to use. This is really important to us given we invite external clients and colleagues with a range of tech skills + comfort into the space, so it's easy to integrate into our work flow.
I also really appreciate their customer support. I recently reached out to them with a question and was impressed with the quick turnaround time (even though it was a holiday weekend) and how personable and helpful their rep was in answering my question.
We use Kumospace most days of the week, and it's nice to know we have a cozy space to collaborate and co-create with our team and clients! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't love that recordings aren't hosted in the cloud / I have to download them locally. This is not so convenient for hosting recordings of client sessions because I still have to upload the video into another software (Loom for example) to make it easily referencable for both me and my client.
I don't like that we can't set "office hours" for the various spaces, or that we can't make it so that people cannot use the space if an admin is not present (this is especially useful when hosting events with outside guests). I know we can password protect the space, but that does not quite solve the issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of the voice and video calls. I wasn’t expecting it to be this good, especially since we are using the app in Brazil.
This app is an excellent tool for making remote work more professional. It’s far better than alternatives like Discord, WhatsApp, Skype, etc.
Creating and personalizing your room is incredibly easy and fun. The customization system is very user-friendly, allowing you to assign individuals to specific rooms effortlessly.
The mobile app functions flawlessly.
The mobile web version also performs exceptionally well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Areas for Improvement in Kumospace:
Lack of Language Support
Not having translations into other languages, such as Portuguese, is a significant drawback. In today's world, with the availability of AI tools, translating apps has become much easier and more accessible. Expanding language options would make the platform more inclusive and user-friendly for a global audience.
Limited Group Channel Features
The group channels lack some essential features. For instance, the ability to pin messages would help users highlight important information. Additionally, the text formatting options are limited; for example, you can’t add blank spaces between lines, which restricts flexibility in communication. Enhancing these features would greatly improve usability.
Mobile App Notification Issues
The mobile app has some problems with notifications. For example, it sends notifications for group messages even when the group has been muted. This can be disruptive and frustrating. Adding more precise notification controls would significantly enhance the mobile experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This virtual office app helps keep the team engaged as though in a real office space. team members can easily see who are available in the office, what their schedule for the day is and can spend time with the team members real time. One place to chat, get connected, have a meeting, have fun events and all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The notification sound needs to be customizable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It has allowed our teams to come together in a unique and fun way. Offering up collaboration and cross-team connection between departments that would rarely connect. The features are through the roof, from recording, to status', to chat it has all you need to be successful. It is very intuitive and easy to use. The team at Kumospace is unlike any other, they are kind and their support means the world to us. Our team uses the platform regularly. While we stick to mostly internal meetings in Kumo, I can easily see this being implemented for external conversations and other teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If I had to shay something that I dislike about Kumospace it would be two things -- I wish we used it sooner and I wish there were more app integrations. We have a really robust technology team that does a lot of automation into our slack which makes it impossible for us to lose that system because we relay so heavily on those automation and integrations into Slack. Continuing to be mostly/fully remote but still have a sense of community and ease of organic communication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The focus on chat tools seems to be distracting from continued improvements to the core video/audio features. Lean into what makes you special, don't try to be slack + kumo, be kumo!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
