I use Keynote to make classic slideshows, but also for simple animations that I convert to animated GIF or video. Not having the skills to use Adobe AfterEffects, I arrive at a more rudimentary result, but satisfactory enough for my needs. This software is by far more ergonomic than its main competitor, PowerPoint. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes, there is a problem with GIF conversion. The slides are flashing and I don't know why. Also, it could have more animation options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that it's built into the iwork suite that Apple has been creating, and it's a good tool to get introductory presentations done. I used it more in college but still jump back to it because it has that intuitive quality Apple products/software has after being a long-time Apple user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are a lot of restrictions, I find, so as a professional, I don't invest as much time as I used to because there is other software out there that are quick. Free online tools have amazing templates, better instructions and are built for absolute beginners, whereas Keynote, like mentioned before, it's intuitive if you've been a long-time Apple user. There isn't much support for Keynote in terms of guides or support for troubleshooting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
easy to use. All options are directly in front of you and it gives you formulas for custom cells. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like that you can't import a document from another platform that is similar. You will end up losing some of your formatting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Clean designs, easy live sharing accessibility between those on the OS, high volume of templates available that escalate it to the next edge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's not cross-compatible with Windows, so that can damper co-working and Google Slides can come into play better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Keynote provides beautiful presentations overall for your company. It is also simple and easy to use if you aren't tech-savvy. The templates on Keynote are also pretty great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't believe this is their fault but I wish more people used this in a corporate setting. It's harder to work with this in Teams when not many people use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If youo know Apple programs (or even if you don't), it's pretty intuitive and easy to pick up and start going. It's easy to create something simple, but then also has lots of more advanced features to get fancy if you want to dive in. It uses the standard keyboard shortcuts (whereas PowerPoint does some weird things), and adding animations and transitions is much easier than other applications (and you can get pretty complex with it!) It's even great for just creating paginated PDFs, since you can use master slides and templates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's exclusive to Macs, so not great for collaborative teams that use both Windows and Mac machines (however, exporting to PDF or image files is very easy, if you only need to share with others). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Keynote is relatively intuitive and has decent capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some limitations that require more work than I'd like. Recently, I wanted to simply curve text around an object for design purposes and had to create it in PowerPoint. There was a way to do it Keynote, but it involved a create day of utilizing the "Arrange" function and took a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You can take advantage of the connection between your devices to work on the same presentation from your iPad and your Mac without wasting time transferring files.
I was surprised with the possibility of exporting files in different formats, either Power Point or another positive design program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If you are a Windows user, using Apple Keynote files is complicated. If you want to open a Keynote file with PowerPoint, you will need some external software to convert it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that you can add live video feeds in any slide and present over video conference. I like that you can write down all your thoughts and then rearrange them when you are ready. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing. Keynote is one of my favorite applications to use for my job. I work in sales and do presentations all the time with Keynote, so it makes my life a lot easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that I can use this between my macbook pro, my ipad and my iphone. It makes working between the devices super simple because it backs up the document to icloud. Also, Keynote is incredibly user-friendly with all the major features you would need in a presentation software simple to find. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not like that the compatibility seems to be off with Microsoft Powerpoint. I can export my keynote file as a PowerPoint file extension, but it doesn't look quite the same. Some formatting is off and that's agrivating because it requires some fixing before using the presentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
