Top Rated Kanban Zone Alternatives

From running a company and client engagements, to writing books, reinforcing new habits and organizing my home and life, I depend on kanban. Outside of work though, I’ve always gone analog. This past holiday season, hosting 4 events w/folks who weren’t co-located required I treat family and friends like a distributed team. Post-its just wouldn't cut it.
How to do that while retaining my humanity, though?
Kanban Zone understood the assignment.
I didn’t want to go all project manager on my cousins. I didn’t want to take the fun out of the season. I didn't want to mechanize an otherwise humane experience. And I certainly didn't have the time to teach anyone a new tool.
But I *did* need everyone to know what was planned, what each dish required ahead of time, what its prep and phasing looked like, who was responsible for what, what they could do when I was too busy to give them instruction and so on.
Kanban Zone gave us a tool that was intuitive, flexible, eminently tailorable, lending clarity, flow, and even calm to an otherwise insane series of Italian dinner traditions. And just like my Nonna’s crystal, I don’t see myself hosting future holidays without it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not dislike inasmuch as it's a request: I'd love to see an integration with Miro. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The flexibility in creating custom portfolio boards that align with our workflow. They give our team access to updates/improvements in our process and provide senior management with transparency into our progress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Inability to print boards for ease of sharing with non-users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being able to create a virtual kanban board in any way I want without having to compromise and adapt to the technology. The Kanban board I create on a whiteboard with my team will be the same.
Kanban metrics. I do not have to adapt the reading of information using other available graphs or use plug-ins to have my kanban metrics that will improve my team's work.
Creating cards by forwarding an email to the board, helps tremendously to organize and feed the backlog. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The design was something that I had to adapt my eyes to. I was used to seeing and working with colored fonts and panels coming from all over the place and suddenly I saw a clean canvas to work with. At first, I did find it strange but after a while I got used to it and it's more pleasant to work with since my focus is on the information and not clicking the right panels to see information. I love how Kanban Zone simplifies task management with its intuitive interface and customizable boards. It's a great tool for visualizing workflows and staying organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The color scheme of the application not being my personal favorite, but that's a minor aspect in comparison to its functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to use once you understand the basics of what boards and cards are. Exceptional customer service Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not being able to log into two accounts on the same machine (it creates some errors in some things). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Pros: Kanban Zone provides an excellent space for the organization and management of activities within any work team thanks to the incorporation of its virtual boards, which allow us to visualize the ongoing and pending activities to all team members. as well as those responsible for each activity, which is quite useful if we consider that our team is made up of 15 members, so maintaining order is essential. The first time we used it, I could see that it was quite simple and easy to handle, creating an entry on the board was super simple, plus there I could place the entire description of the activity that had to be developed at that time Another point that I found particularly useful was the fact that the dashboard could be exported to Excel, which allowed us to have a backup in case the web platform did not want to work for us at any given time. Compared to other similar applications such as trello or asana, Kanban Zone provides greater flexibility when making configurations and customizations to our boards, which makes it ideal for new users who are unaware of the use of a virtual board to organize their activities. In some cases, the dashboard could not be accessed correctly, I don't know if it is due to a common system failure or problems with the internet connection. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am an economist transitioning from graduate school (Ph.D.) to the workplace, where I have increased responsibility. I had seen productive people use Kanban before and wanted to learn. I reached out to Dimitri and Kanban Zone and we set up weekly personal coaching. During the first session, Dimitri helped down my projects into smaller manageable components (cards), and made a board tracking the progress of the cards (is this section of the essay being written, edited, reviewed, or sent to outside reviewers?).
Over the course of a few weeks, I literally saw my productivity improve as I moved cards from backlog to done. This not only helped me shape my ideas, but also was very satisfying at an emotional level as I dragged each card to the next stage. During our weekly check-ins, Dimitri helped me deal with blocked issues, and brought up different Kanban Zone features (such as sizing, blocking, assigning cards to team members, and explicit agreements) that would help with the issues I had encountered that week.
I enjoyed Kanban Zone so much that I put it to use in moving out of my apartment. My partner and I are moving out (new job, therefore we have to relocate), and we had a mess of things in our apartment. We made a Kanban Board and cards for our different types of posessions. Kanban Zone made the moving process much easier. It was very helpful to sit down at the beginning of the day and decide which areas we were going to box that day. I wish there was more integration outside web browsers (mobile, desktop apps). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The board editor tool helps to build boards anyway we want in very simple ways, though some concepts are not that intuitive and requires some experimentation. The board itself has good usability, you can expand or hide every column or lane.
The team behind the product is also amazing and very quickly to answer and listen do us, the customes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
General visual. Somehow too many things are tight to each other and still there is lots of white spaces unused. The visual is very flat.
I was a bit confused with metric and reports, too.
Most other things I had issues their team changed, very good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The @ mentioning is great for pulling in diverse colleagues. It has all the functionality to pull off complex projects with many workstreams. From a UX perspective, I like that you can click and start editing comments and fields in the cards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The visual space is a little cluttered, but once you get used to it it's easy enough to navigate. There are a few small things UX-wise that could be improved. The search function in the cards is a little wonky (it highlights the words you searched for in the cards that the search returns, but they're not always at the top of the results). Also, the notifications seem not to refresh after you've seen them ( you have to click each one, but I already get emails for them so I don't really need to click them all). The Phoenix PMI Chapter uses Kanbanzone to manage workflow for our volunteer resources. It is extremely helpful and we could not operate it without the virtual tool. If rating the application, I would give it 5 stars. I refer the tool to private for profit organizations as a great way to track work and get things done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Reporting on lists and individual tasks could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
How easy is to create, modify and manipulate boards, there is really no limitations on how simple or complex you need to design a board.
It is simple, intuitive, it just works !
The costumer support is superb, I have sent questions, or requests to the support team and I get a personalized email FROM A HUMAN within minutes. I have reported some bugs and they get resolved within the hour !... I have also asked for special functionalities to be incorporated and as they make sense and are generic, they got implemented within a couple days ! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would love a more granular security system where you could assign read or write access to specific cards
I would love to see more statistics being generated by the tool other than the generic ones Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
