I like to be able to push scripts out to machines at will. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far (although I understand it's in the next version), no ability to chain scripts together (so that Script One can trigger Script Two, etc).
I've worked with this box for two years now, and still don't really grasp (non-scripted) Distribution or the two Software databases; it seems all terribly convoluted to me, and I'm not a dumb guy. At all.
I don't like that I can't push the agent to a Windows machine without either using a 3rd-party tool (Active Directory) or doing pre-push prep work on each potential Windows client. I want one tool that does it all, remotely. I'm not sure that's possible, with the design of Windows, but still, I dislike the situation.
I dislike some of the layouts - scroll all the way to the bottom to hit Save, but oops, what if this isn't the right script? I better check which script I'm saving; scroll all the way to the top to see the name; yep, it's the right one; scroll all the way to the bottom to hit Save.
All that's on the K1. The K2 has become partially useless to us, as with the changes Mac has made to its systems, "Imaging is dead", and the K2 can't image Macs any more.
Although I really like the scripted installs on the K2, I don't care for the new "Task Groups". They only do about 50% of what they should do, and at that low-level, they are essentially useless to me.
And again, the layout. So. Much. Scrolling.
And both appliances need some sort of Undo, or at least "Save a copy"; it's way too easy to slip on a click and not know what you've done, and lose something important.
And organization! I want to be able to organize my scripts and tasks and deployments, so instead of digging through 200 scripted installs, I can arrange them into collapsible/expandable groups, etc.
And again, task-chaining. Please, oh please, let me chain one task to another, so that I can have a standard scripted install of a standard Windows setup (composed of Windows, Office, antivirus) , and at the end of that, change out one (or better, trigger with a run-time option/environment variable), a chained link to a different set of installation routines (one that has business apps, one that has student-learning apps, one that has CAD apps, etc), so that my main Windows image can be the base for 20 different individual setups with just a tweak of an environmental variable or a checkbox. Not only can you uninstall, install, update, and manage all software in your company with the tool but, it makes patching significantly easier. I almost never have to think about patching with it set up properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although kace helps me gather information on particular endpoints and keep asset information up to date... it doesn't have geofencing/geolocation... it might be in the MDM, though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Clean and easy-to-understand interface for pushing OS updates with the ability to schedule deployments. Ability to integrate with end-points. It also have inventory control which is a plus for day to day IT operations Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It was somehow difficult to track the execution status of certain scheduled Windows updates. Sometimes we needed to push the updates several times. Also, frequent logouts are something to consider. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

While they have fantastic solutions the support team is always the most important part for me in considering a vendor. Kace does not disappoint in this area. On several occasions they have jumped in to help me out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Working in a small organization some of their solutions are a bit out of my price range. I tend to wait for the sales on the things I really want and I have been able to get several products that way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

KACE SMA offers a solution to many of our problems like Asset Management, Software Deployment, Ticketing/Helpdesk, and Patching. While I haven't used many other RMM solutions, KACE does hit the mark on many of the services it offers; some quirks pop up as you become a more "advanced" user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The primary services that I find to be quirky are: "Run at next connection if Offline," the "Native Powershell Scripting," and the API. They do work, but you have to do some extra work to make it reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Kace has helped us integrate all of our IT needs from inventory to imaging. Having these appliances to do everything automatically and pushed software is a plus. Summer tasks are so much easy imaging across the network with almost zero technicians intervention.
We have been using KACE SMA since 2008 and SMD since 2010; our Inventory became more accurate, and computers were rolled out faster. Our techs adapted quickly to the new service desk, and the user could check the status of their ticket by login into the user portal.
KACE supports Windows and Apple platforms; we can manage everything from one solution. We love it.
Support, whenever we need, they fix our problems, so we don't have to keep our system down for too long. Overall KACE It is a great solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
there is always room for improvement, however... at this point KACE does what we need.

This product is an excellent multifunctional use application that you can use it for asset tracking, scripting, inventory, patching, and even discovery. The cost is also reasonable for the capabilities. You can also highly customize the service desk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Two areas that can improve would be to have a better-integrated chat function with the users and screen sharing. Also, I would love to see integration with Dell TechDirect having proactive support capabilities. Support would be good too if you could have chat with support from the appliance directly with Quest. We were using Kace K1000 appliance management to manage our IT peripherals. We do have our offices at many locations; We decided to manage our assets at a single point, so we decided to go with KACE. Whenever we join the system to domain Kace endpoint picks up the system details, and it will list in the the dashboard with all hardware details and installed software in the pc.which helps us to maitain our assest for auditing purpose. Initially it was designed to work well with dell systems later they have release api to support HP and lenovo systems. We also had patch management support where we can able to push windows security patches every month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When it comes to cost, It is pretty high. Many small-scale companies won't be able to get this software. Sometimes endpoints crash and the system loses connectivity to the KACE. Other than that I do not see any drawbacks, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ease to deploy images to devices, we have multiple RSA's running which feed our imaging center and also remote sites, this whole process has drastically reduced our "time to image" and allowed us to image over 15,000 devices in a month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We would like there to be a true default KBE for RSA's Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It tries to be a one-stop solution for company IT - a help desk plus offers a repository of commonly used files you can download. There's a customer service chat which means fast support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The customer service people sometimes are not as knowledgable as I would like, but I admit I've always had my issues resolved. Oh, and although there are a lot of support documents some of them are out of date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
