Top Rated QuickBooks Payroll Alternatives
Generally straight forward UI, making it easy to know where I need to go to accomplish certain tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I was recently forced to switch from a legacy Intuit Payroll product to their latest QuickBooks Payroll product. At first, I was excited thinking I would have more features at my fingertips, but since the switch, I have had nothing but problems. First I had a hard time adding a new employee, and now I'm trying to update my bank account and so far (two weeks past my first attempt...) have not been successful.
The worst part of all of this is that they have made it next to impossible to get help in a moment of need. First, they want you to review their knowledge articles which have not answered a single question I've had to date. Then if you game the robot you can finally access a chat agent. The chat agents are kind humans, but they do not have much power or authority to help you make necessary changes, and these conversations usually result in a "reach out by phone". They aren't able to provide you a phone number, and you are forced to put your name on a wait list for a call back which is typically 60 minutes out. I have also had scenarios where I was actively chatting with a support agent when a sudden page refresh disconnects me from the chat and provides no way to re-connect without starting completely over. I can handle friction in a tool and the need to reach out to support, but when I'm two weeks past my initial issue with still no resolution and multiple frustrating experiences, I start to become frustrated that the company is not willing to put the necessary resources in place to support their loyal customers. It is an easy-to-use automated interface for running and tracking payroll for employers and employees. Customizable menu tabs for most used or favorites. Easy to assign user roles without giving too much or too little access. Detailed reports are laid out in an easy-to-use reports page. Capable and caring customer support for tax issues and payroll corrections. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The hold times are often long for support and wait times for processing of corrections or resolutions. The newly required upgraded subscription for payroll tax corrections, even if they are already automated. The inability to use my old invoices after the most recent update without warning. I like the fact that Quickbooks payroll allows a small business to have the look and feel of a big corporation. It is very easy to use and setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would hope that there are more methods available to make direct payment to the employee. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In my oppinion, the best thing about QuickBooks Payroll is its integration with other Quickbooks products. It made it easier to manage time sheets, invoicing, and expenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cost. It is kind of like "Mac" in that, Apple products work best when you have an iPhone, Apple TV, and Macbook computer - but the cost can really add up compared to a Windows PC, and Android Phone, an LG watch, etc... But man, it works smoothly. Same with QuickBooks, if you are all-in on that environemnt thigns tend to work well together, but the costs can start to add up, and if you have needs that it doesn't meet you either go without or run simultaneous systems. it didn't work well for me at all, and customer service was elusive and tedious Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They kept missing payments to the state, and also messed up my registration with the state DOR Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing about QuickBooks Payroll is its time tracking, We can create projects, add workers to that project to work, We can track the worker's locations and the time they are giving to that particular project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
To be honest, I don't see any limitation in QuickBooks Payroll as of now but they can work on some webhooks responses as it was a heavy task to configure them and get the events on time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I do not care for the report details. There needs to be more information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Automated Time tracking is one of the features, I like best about Quickbooks payroll. It creates auto alerts for emoloyees of the organisation to clock in depending upon their job shifts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A lot of features in Quickbooks payroll it doesn't provide as per the need. Auto-syncing of the timesheets with changes in the bank accounts, job costing & several other limitations like these. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Automatic calculations: QuickBooks Payroll automatically calculates payroll taxes, including federal, state, and local taxes. It also calculates employee deductions, including 401(k) contributions, health insurance premiums, and other benefits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Complexity: Some users have found QuickBooks Payroll overly complex and difficult to navigate, especially for those new to payroll processing.Customer support: Some users have reported issues with QuickBooks Payroll customer support, including long wait times and difficulty getting their issues resolved Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Think QuickBooks was the most simple and "Working" payroll system we used. It did things like automatically calculating deductions and withholdings accurately for us while also recording journal entries to properly account for each expense. We ended up using quite a bit of other payroll systems because we needed more integrations with other HR & ATIS systems but getting started with QuickBooks showed how bad a few other payroll systems were. Not a lot if anything to dislike about QuickBooks, I think if you were using it quite deeper as an administrator, some things with the UI & UX could definitely be improved, the system interface could get clunky easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
