Web-based interface, only accessible with VPN and one-time sign-in. Great features but the speed at which you can access the detail is it's best feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to stack or consolidate cost centres in one entity quickly is challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Web-based therefore easily accessible via vpn secured connection. The interface is user friendly and provides all information in a central space. User can easily export budgeting/reporting information, as well as import larger amounts of budget input. Supporting documentation can be uploaded in any file format. Line Item detail for reporting is currently only at cost center level - would like to access this by group Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the breadth of capability the software has to offer in conjunction with it’s ease of use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It would be hard to fault the solution in many areas, but perhaps I would like to see more prebuilt integration capability with Oracle software and more robust reporting functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The reports are readily available and ready to use when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not being able to delete or replace an old employee number on admin Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The IDU solution is an amazingly rich environment that is constantly evolving. It offers our users the ability to budget in a controlled decentralized manner that improves levels of ownership and shortens the entire process. Based on the the size of organization, the skill set available and the time and effort that can be dedicated to the process IDU is versatile enough to accommodate our requirements. On top of this is the reporting layer which can interface with our ERP data and bring an additional dimension of business intelligence combined with budget assumptions. For me the integration of custom excel reports, specific to my organization is critical and done exceptionally well in IDU. Payroll and headcount is also something that is managed well in IDU. The team at IDU have a good business and finance understanding and really spend time understanding the specifics of your organization to deliver a solution that is fit for purpose. The level of detail and depth in the tool can sometimes make it seem daunting for new users to be on boarded and more time needs to be dedicated to the change management process. Some of the setup can be complex like creating reallocation cycles and some activity based budgeting setup. If you want to use this functionality you really need a resource dedicated to understanding this part of the tool well. Setting up new integrated excel report queries requires IDU assistance but once done they are easy to use. The tool is really designed for a bottom up approach so top down inputs in the budgeting are difficult to integrate if not planned well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

User can access the system from their own PC's and capture budgets in real time on the same platform. No need to struggle collating data from a multitude of spreadsheets manually.
IDU empowered us in a big way by building customized macro spreadsheets to upload our weekly calculated fruit volumes, sales revenue and distribution costs, production labour and material phasing etc. directly into the database, splitting costs and revenue directly back to the relevant profit centres by way of some array calculations in the background that took us days to do in the past.
IDU enabled us to complete our budget process much faster and more efficiently than we could do on spreadsheets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We need to assign/relate profit centres to the gl accounts before the two dimensions can be used together. Our underlying profit centres structure changes often which can be a bit onerous to maintain on the system. Most companies will not have this issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With all staff able to concurrently access individual project areas within idu-Concept and either review results, set budgets or make changes our 'budget setting season' is less stressful for all and reduces the time needed for the process. The ability to assign access to specific areas of the budget to specific staff means we can have staff at all levels taking accountability for their areas.
Using idu-Concept has streamlined our overall budgeting process, and allows non-finance staff to access their areas, interrogate costs and understand how they are tracking against budget without having to request reports from Finance or wait for excel workbooks to be updated. The reporting side of idu-Concept could be enhanced to enable easier report extract and customisation by staff. We have also found creation of custom reports is quite complicated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Various type of reports available for whatever the need. It is easy to compare, view and analyse figures.
I like the easy import function. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is difficult to quickly print directly from IDU.
When expanding on different overheads, it is sometimes confusing for users to go back to income statement page (not knowing to press on the little blocks with green arrow to go 'back'.) Users gets confused and close the entire tab.
When adjusting column sizes, it does not remain the size it was adjusted to.
I would like to choose the default page (like actuals) when opening IDU. ☺

Financial Budgeting and reporting Model is user friendly. The functionality to drill down to the details of the transactions gives management more information at their finger tips . The ability to export reports into excell for the users. The fact that all the information required is availible in one system , financial and non financial. It easy to effect changes on the forecast and keep track of the changes with the notes so that all users are aware. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Setting up of user access in every fiscal set and layout setups .
The moving of cost centres have to be done for the user in every set , this is time consuming especiall if there are alot of cost centres. There layout sets - it would be nice to have notes on how to set up different layouts. Manages have requested a Dash board , there are no notes as to how to set this up .
The printing of from the screen, the entire page doesnt print . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Excel reports are customisable to suite entity requirements. The reports that required several downloading then formatting/ merging in excel, now can run on a single go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reports can only run for users according to their access rights and does not show the user the access rights at the time of running the report, therefore at first go one may assume that the report is all inclusive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
