The product has an easy to use interface and standard backups are really easy to setup and schedule. Just select the drives and folders to backup and either schedule or backup immediately.
The point of backup is to be able to restore information when needed, and this too was really easy to perform. Like the backup function, just select the data to restore and the target location. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The huge red "Upgrade" button at the top of the screen is a little too bold. I hit the button anyway, the the prices for more storage were a little shocking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I subscribed to the 10TB iDrive Personal Yearly to back up 2 Mac Mini's of 2 TB each. I really like the fact that the 10TB Personal Yearly Scheme provides you with a Cloud backup space of 10TB and a Cloud Drive storage also of 10TB.
I like the granularity of the features which means that you can deploy a custom backup scheme.
It can do backups of network and external drives.
It can also back up Carbon Copy Cloner backups made on an external drive as long as the backups are not running (when offline). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
iDrive cannot do a full machine backup or a clone backup of macOS machines like it does with Windows machines.
The learning curve is rather steep.
You really need to think about your backup strategy before running the software and proceeding to back up your internal and external drives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I find it very helpful that online support via chat is very efficient and responsive. The IDrive software interface is self explanatory and intuitive.
IDrive is great value given the amount of allocated storage versus cost and this makes it very accessible as a bottom line. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not much. I would however put in a wish list that wholes sets of files can be restored in one go from a version controlled backup rather than one file at a time. It would be important in case of a restore because of a ransomware attack. (There may be a way of doing this and I just don't know how yet.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A asked the AI to recommend me a cloud backup solution. It writes me: If you need it specifically for backup: ... or iDrive.
I chose between these. iDrive was the solution for me. It offers 5TB of storage at an affordable price. It offers 10 GB of storage in the free plan, so I could try it out before I made a final decision. So what I had written down for later became an immediate solution.
I registered in the system with the 10 GB option. I downloaded and installed the Windows client. And I immediately backed up a larger directory from the SSD to see how it works. Wow! I didn't have to do anything, it backed up. I immediately tested it by making changes and saving again to see if it would do its job reliably. Not surprisingly, it did.
The surprise came the next day when it turned out that the client program also had a default scheduling task, meaning my cloud backup was updated to the given library.
At the same time, I received the subscription offer for the 5 TB package with a 90% discount for the first year. I bought the storage space for 12,5 USD for 1 year. The next bill is due in a year for 150 USD, so this solution will cost 13 USD per month in a year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is no such a thing! Everything is fine with this softeare! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've been using IDrive Backup for a while, and overall, it's a solid solution for cloud backups. The initial upload took some time (around 60 hours for 1TB), but that's expected for large datasets. Once the initial backup is complete, incremental backups run smoothly and efficiently.
Compared to OneDrive, which often gets stuck during large file transfers, IDrive performs far more reliably. Similarly, Dropbox's backup process feels unnecessarily complex, whereas IDrive keeps it straightforward and user-friendly.
The software provides strong encryption, versioning, and cross-device support, making it a great choice for both personal and business use. Highly recommended! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The initial backup is quite slow for large data sets, but this is expected. The interface could be more modern, and some settings are buried in menus, making them harder to find. Also, mobile app features are limited compared to the desktop version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
IDrive Online Backup stands out for its seamless and reliable cloud backup functionality. I appreciate how easy it is to schedule automatic backups, ensuring that my important data is always secure without requiring constant manual intervention. The platform’s fast upload speeds and robust storage infrastructure give me peace of mind, knowing that my files are safe and accessible from anywhere at any time. Honestly, I tried hard to find something I don’t like, but it seems IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 didn’t get that memo. So far, it’s been ticking all the right boxes for me! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I found iDrive while searching for a cheap way to backup some files I needed to clear off of an external hard drive. They were offering a very affordable promotion for the first year so I figured I would try it and I've been very happy so far. It was very easy to backup my files and, while my files were very large, the backup seemed to go very quickly. The interface of the software is easy to understand and overall I'm happy with the product. Highly recommend! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would prefer to use a web interface rather than downloading a desktop client, but that was only a minor annoyance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used a competitor's product and although good, it had limitations in that whenever you view photos in the backup, it didn’t show thumbnail previews or open the photos. So, I looked for an alternative and found iDrive. I like iDrive as it shows you clearly all your files live in a ‘finder’ like interface like on my MAC, and also it shows thumbnail previews of images so you can see what's what. I find it fast to navigate, and I like the fact that you can back up more than one device, so for example, I can back up 2 computers, one at work and one at home, my phone and a large external NAS. So far, it has worked flawlessly. I run an automatic schedule to back up all of my data nightly, and I have verified the backups, and they work perfectly. Overall, for what it costs, it’s a no-brainer. Full offsite backup of all my electronic life that can be accessed from anywhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
To be honest, I can't think of any downside. I find it does everything I need it to do, and it does it well and at a good price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It has great scalability options which makes it easy to store big data and allows us to run operations on them for analysis. It pricing is well optimised for our business and has all the necessary compliances and features implemented which makes it our go to cloud solution. It has good data recovery feature and has versioning option which is useful. It has good machine learning workflow integration for training dataset. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does not have we'll implemented monitoring system and API performance is also bad and has no good documentation available for API integration. It does not have security and data management reporting features. I have also face some issues while migrating data from google drive to IDrive but customer support was helpful. I'm familiar with DropBox and OneDrive, but neither of those services offered what I was looking for... and at the price I was willing to pay. I wanted a simple application interface to be able to selectively choose which folders to include or exclude... and on a routine schedule. I didn't want to have to create a special folder or intrusive file redirection. I did agonize about which service to go with and ultimately chose the iDrive subscription. The software installation was very easy and intuative... immediately I set up the backup folders I wanted to include and kicked off a nightly backup. So far so good! I really like the notification popup, log details, and the email notificiation was an added bonus I didn't expect. Again, so far this product has met all of my expectations and I'm discovering more useful settings as I dig deeper. I would recommend this product to friends and family who were on the fence or uncertain with all the choices. There is more flexibility and security too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing I haven't fully figured out yet is a multi-backup solution, where I'm backing some stuff up to the cloud (daily) and other stuff to a local drive (weekly). It appears to be possible, but that isn't as straight forward within the application yet. I didn't want to break the cloud backup to setup the local weekly backup. Again, I do think it is possible, but the interface there isn't as clear as it could be. Makes it almost look like it's either one or the other, but that wouldn't make sense. I'll work through it and I'm sure it'll be fine. Otherwise, I have no major dislikes that I've found yet. It has been working great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how easy everything was to get several of my computers backed up. The backup is automatic if you want it to be, which I love not having to worry about it. Also, they have a Cloud backup solution that you can use to do manual backups of anything you want, large or small files/folders. This is the second backup service I've used, and I must say IDrive blows away everyone else. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My only complaint is the Cloud manual backup seems to get stuck on certain files, then I have to upload those by themself. It could be my computer though. Also, wish they had some kind of Intergration into Amazon Prime photos, so I could move my pictures over to IDrive a little easier. But these are minor request.
