A asked the AI to recommend me a cloud backup solution. It writes me: If you need it specifically for backup: ... or iDrive.
I chose between these. iDrive was the solution for me. It offers 5TB of storage at an affordable price. It offers 10 GB of storage in the free plan, so I could try it out before I made a final decision. So what I had written down for later became an immediate solution.
I registered in the system with the 10 GB option. I downloaded and installed the Windows client. And I immediately backed up a larger directory from the SSD to see how it works. Wow! I didn't have to do anything, it backed up. I immediately tested it by making changes and saving again to see if it would do its job reliably. Not surprisingly, it did.
The surprise came the next day when it turned out that the client program also had a default scheduling task, meaning my cloud backup was updated to the given library.
At the same time, I received the subscription offer for the 5 TB package with a 90% discount for the first year. I bought the storage space for 12,5 USD for 1 year. The next bill is due in a year for 150 USD, so this solution will cost 13 USD per month in a year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is no such a thing! Everything is fine with this softeare! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've been using IDrive Backup for a while, and overall, it's a solid solution for cloud backups. The initial upload took some time (around 60 hours for 1TB), but that's expected for large datasets. Once the initial backup is complete, incremental backups run smoothly and efficiently.
Compared to OneDrive, which often gets stuck during large file transfers, IDrive performs far more reliably. Similarly, Dropbox's backup process feels unnecessarily complex, whereas IDrive keeps it straightforward and user-friendly.
The software provides strong encryption, versioning, and cross-device support, making it a great choice for both personal and business use. Highly recommended! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The initial backup is quite slow for large data sets, but this is expected. The interface could be more modern, and some settings are buried in menus, making them harder to find. Also, mobile app features are limited compared to the desktop version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
IDrive Online Backup stands out for its seamless and reliable cloud backup functionality. I appreciate how easy it is to schedule automatic backups, ensuring that my important data is always secure without requiring constant manual intervention. The platform’s fast upload speeds and robust storage infrastructure give me peace of mind, knowing that my files are safe and accessible from anywhere at any time. Honestly, I tried hard to find something I don’t like, but it seems IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 didn’t get that memo. So far, it’s been ticking all the right boxes for me! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I found iDrive while searching for a cheap way to backup some files I needed to clear off of an external hard drive. They were offering a very affordable promotion for the first year so I figured I would try it and I've been very happy so far. It was very easy to backup my files and, while my files were very large, the backup seemed to go very quickly. The interface of the software is easy to understand and overall I'm happy with the product. Highly recommend! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would prefer to use a web interface rather than downloading a desktop client, but that was only a minor annoyance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It has great scalability options which makes it easy to store big data and allows us to run operations on them for analysis. It pricing is well optimised for our business and has all the necessary compliances and features implemented which makes it our go to cloud solution. It has good data recovery feature and has versioning option which is useful. It has good machine learning workflow integration for training dataset. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does not have we'll implemented monitoring system and API performance is also bad and has no good documentation available for API integration. It does not have security and data management reporting features. I have also face some issues while migrating data from google drive to IDrive but customer support was helpful. I'm familiar with DropBox and OneDrive, but neither of those services offered what I was looking for... and at the price I was willing to pay. I wanted a simple application interface to be able to selectively choose which folders to include or exclude... and on a routine schedule. I didn't want to have to create a special folder or intrusive file redirection. I did agonize about which service to go with and ultimately chose the iDrive subscription. The software installation was very easy and intuative... immediately I set up the backup folders I wanted to include and kicked off a nightly backup. So far so good! I really like the notification popup, log details, and the email notificiation was an added bonus I didn't expect. Again, so far this product has met all of my expectations and I'm discovering more useful settings as I dig deeper. I would recommend this product to friends and family who were on the fence or uncertain with all the choices. There is more flexibility and security too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing I haven't fully figured out yet is a multi-backup solution, where I'm backing some stuff up to the cloud (daily) and other stuff to a local drive (weekly). It appears to be possible, but that isn't as straight forward within the application yet. I didn't want to break the cloud backup to setup the local weekly backup. Again, I do think it is possible, but the interface there isn't as clear as it could be. Makes it almost look like it's either one or the other, but that wouldn't make sense. I'll work through it and I'm sure it'll be fine. Otherwise, I have no major dislikes that I've found yet. It has been working great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I'm into tech and self-hosting, and I have a variety of devices, including a Raspberry Pi 500, a Windows 11 mini PC, an Android phone and tablet, and an iPhone. I was looking for something that could backup all of my devices, including the Raspberry Pi. Most things I found either couldn't do this or were designed for businesses, but IDrive handles my backup needs without a problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm totally blind and use a screen reader, and the interface for IDrive for Windows isn't as accessible as I'd like. It can be difficult to navigate, and it took me a little while to learn it. I would love it if accessibility could be improved, and I'd be happy to help with feedback and testing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I downloaded this product to transfer data from my work computer onto my personal drive. It was mainly wedding photos, but for the past 5 years I have used my work computer for personal storage as well. (I know, I know...)
Since I was looking to switch jobs, I knew I needed a reliable and robust source of data storage in the cloud on which to store my valuable wedding photos (and some other secure documents, like tax records from previous years). Getting started was really easy. I'm annoyed that I put it off for so long!
I'm so glad I found iDrive! The price was right, it was really user friendly, and even though I uploaded over 1,000 wedding photos I'm not even close to using all my storage. I would recommend this solution to anyone looking for a cloud-based secure storage solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have no complaints at all! I look forward to continuing to use the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
First and foremost is the price. The first year the price was great, but that's where they catch you. The next year the price is far more than competitors. That is why I'm no longer with iDrive. There's ALOT out there that can beat the price - especially for the amount of storage space you get. I would have thought iDrive would want to keep its customers. Obviously not because the price is too high for subsequent years. No discount or reward for loyalty with iDrive.
On the other hand, iDrive is easy to use. If you're not sure how to do something, the support section is easy to use, easy to find what you need help with AND the instructions are clear and easy to follow. I'm new to iDrive so the support section has been very helpful in getting me started and learning how to use all the features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At first there was nothing I disliked. But after a year, the price is ridiculous. So, I left and chose one of their many competitors who offer the same storage for a quarter of the price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Extremely easy interface. I was up and running in a matter of minutes. The naming conventions for the different types of backups can be confusing, and if there's a way to rename a given backup, I haven't found it yet, but overall this is an excellent product. I did have one problem early on with the program failing with a "machine unexpectedly quit" error, which I originally thought was a flaw in the program. Turns out it was a flaw in my ISP, which does in fact occasionally decide to shut off my connection.
In retrospect, given to large number of files I'm trying to backup, I probably should have taken advantage of the Idrive Express feature, which would have allowed me to use one of Idrives HDD to d/l everything and ship it to Idrive rather than waiting through the entire backup process. Oh well, you live and learn. Overall, as I've said, this is an excellent program, with a couple of minor offputs, and that's coming from someone who's been a faithful Carbonite user for a decade. 1. No simple way to break backups into those drives I'd like backed up daily vs. drives I'd like backed up less often, say weekly. The program may well be able to do this, but I haven't found the way so far.
2. No apparent way to rename a backup set beyond the defaults given by Idrive. It's a minor point, but it bears on #1 above. If I could figure a way to backup my C: drive say 2X/week, but my D: drive 3X/week, I'd like to be able to name those backups something different and meaningful to me.
I haven't found any way within Idrive to accomplish either of the above. Note that that doesn't mean they can't be accomplished, I just don't see any easy way to get them done. And that in itself is a failing of the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
