What do you like best about i-Ready Assessment?

I find the i-Ready Assessment easy to administer to students. I like how if a student exits the test or accidently leaves the page, it keeps place and students can continue where they left off. Students rarley as questions on how to use the interface. Studnets do enjoy the brain break. I find the presentation of the data easy to read, understand and explain to a parent. I like all the information and different reports that are created with the test data. I regualry look at the prerequisit report to help me guide my planning and instruction. What do you dislike about i-Ready Assessment?

I dislike the lenght of time it takes to complete an assement. I also do not think the test algorythm is as good as Curriculum Associates claims it to be when providing questions to students during the assessment. Often, second grade students will go inot taking the mid year or end of year assesment at a 1st grade level according to their previous asseemnt and see questions that are clearly not second grade standards such as adding and subtracting fractions or multplying/ dividing large numbers. These students would have never been exposed to these skills because thier paths are set on 1st grade standards. This fustrates them because they know they try and this extends the amount of time the test takes and ultimatley students are still at the first grade begining of second grade. I have never had a student make progress that big. I also wish that students could take the test more fequently as a way to readjust thier learing paths. I know I can do it mannuelly but would prefer that test to adjust to be more accurate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about i-Ready Assessment?

I use iReady with remedial math groups. Using the iReady diagnostic gives me specific data on students' skill levels and the next steps they need. The online lessons let each student work at their specific level and on the skills they need, and I can also test specific skills to monitor student progress. The online lessons are engaging and teach skills well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about i-Ready Assessment?

The iReady diagnostic is a lengthy test, so I need to be sure to give students enough time to work. I don't think it would be as insensitive if it were a shorter test though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is i-Ready Assessment solving and how is that benefiting you?

iReady helps me assess student skills in many areas of math or reading. It tells me specific levels, strengths, and weakness. I can also monitor student progress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about i-Ready Assessment?

The i-Ready Assessment is the guide to teaching and instructing, with ease. Teachers use assessments to determine the different levels of the students while preparing differentiated resources. Once i-Ready Assessments are rendered, different activities and resources are developed in a centralized location while giving the teacher time to plan. The resources that are identified and assigned per student, can be found within the i-Ready material. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about i-Ready Assessment?

I can honestly say that I have not encountered a downfall in the Assessments. They provide teachers and admin with the proper information to assist in preparing individual students for the next level. A lot of information is connected to the i-Ready Assessment, but it must be used with fidelity. If used correctly, teachers should see progress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is i-Ready Assessment solving and how is that benefiting you?

The i-Ready Assessment is a great progress monitoring tool, used to track student progress according to the Mississippi Curriculum. It gives a different look into whether or not students are ready for the state assessment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is helpful to measure student progress. Because it's adaptive, I can use it in my mixed-ability math classes. The data are useful in targeting instruction to meet the needs of students. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about i-Ready Assessment?

Like anything with technology, there is a learning curve for students and for adults. It can be time consuming. The length makes it lose some of it's accuracy over time as kids are test fatigued. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is i-Ready Assessment solving and how is that benefiting you?

i-Ready Assessment lets me see where my students are in learning. Everything I've experienced with i-Ready shows me that they use educational research and put it into practice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about i-Ready Assessment?

I like that I-Ready assessment is adaptive - it challenges my advanced students and lets me see how high their knowledge reaches. I also like that scores are broken down into subsets of math, so I can see who is stronger at geometry vs number sense, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about i-Ready Assessment?

This was not an accurate prediction of who will do well at state testing and who will not. Several of my students were predicted to pass based on their I-Ready assessment, but ended up not passing the state test. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about i-Ready Assessment?

iReady gave us a lot of data for both our general

education and special education populations. The data was used to create groups in and out of the classroom, for RTI, for adding data to the IEP. We also sent the data home to parents when the tests were given the three times required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about i-Ready Assessment?

The iReady assessment took planning and time to make happen for our building. Even though the program has some accomodations built-in, more accommodations were needed for some of our students. I appreciate the universal accommodations for all; that helped the majority of our students. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is i-Ready Assessment solving and how is that benefiting you?

If I had a problem, I would contact one of our academic coaches. They would usually have the answer. If they didn't have the answer, our Vice Principal would or he would find the answer for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Hayley Browning of i-Ready Assessment

Thank you for the review, Karen! We really appreciate all feedback and input from our educators.

I wish that the math assessments were read to the students. My students are below grade level in reading and they struggle to perform on the math assessments because they questions are not read to them. It's hard to see where they really are in math when the assessment is also assessing their reading level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
