Our company officially went live with Human Interest on January 1, 2025, with our first payroll deduction taking place on January 31, 2025. From implementation to enrollment, the entire process has been seamless.
The self-service platform has been a fantastic resource for our employees, making it easy for them to manage their 401(k) plans. Human Interest took the lead in communicating with our tenured employees, sending personalized emails outlining what to expect during the enrollment process. Additionally, they handle the enrollment process for newly hired employees, streamlining the experience for everyone.
As a company that had never previously offered a 401(k) plan, this transition was a significant milestone for us. Human Interest provided an educational session during our January 1st kickoff, helping employees understand the differences between 401(k) and other retirement savings options. Their support and expertise have made this an excellent experience for both our HR team and our employees.

I was added as an admin and wasn't used to the platform. There set up is very simply and easy to use. However, i perfer to be safe than sorry. I requested help a review on a task, they were very quick and helpful to set up a time to discuss, the following day! It was great, during this time i was able to get my questions answer promtptly and ask for a overview of the platform. At the moment my tasks that has been reviewed shows as tasks needing completing.

The relatively no administrative time it takes to manage things. Also, the communication Human Interest sends is great so nothing is missed.
The integration process happened in a blink of an eye. The website itself is easy to navigate and make changes so questions from employees has been minimal. Only thing I wish was different was the option for employees to opt out after the initial 15 days. Being charged when after that even though they set contibution to zero seems unfair.

It is so easy. As a small business owner, I didn't realize how and cost effective it would be to provide a 401k matching benefit. Human Interest has made providing this benefit a breeze! Setting it up was simple, a point-of-contact quickly contacted us to introduce herself and tell us about various ways she could be of assistance, and because of the integeration of Human Interest into the Gusto payroll system, there is nothing I have to handle on a regular basis. The team was very helpful in adding custom investment options for Vanguard Target Data funds, which are the same expense ratio as they are with Vanguard itself. So you can get the best of Vanguard (or most of the "best of" mutual funds on the market) while also benefitting from Human Interest's excellent UX and integrations with payroll software like Rippling. The ease of the transition from our prior provider was seamless, and they also have cost effective management options for 401k compliance that let us cut out costs for a financial advisor and separate plan administrator. I heard that leaving Human Interest, if you decide to do that, can be quite cumbersome, and that customer service is not especially great -- I haven't experienced either one of those issues however. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The entire setup was a breeze. I answered a few questions, entered some information and I was up and running. The website itself is very clean and simple to use. I recently discovered that even though I had terminated an employee, I would still have to pay the monthly fee for them until they roll their funds over to another account. As a self-employed person and agency owner, I wanted to set up a 401(k) mechanism that would be easy for me to use and maintain – but I am not a finance guru and was constantly worried about getting something "wrong" that would lead to tax penalties or missed withholding. I really appreciate how Human Interest made it easy to "set and forget" everything about 401(k)s, and how transparent they are with providing documentation at every step of the process. Though I'm not a finance-minded person, I feel really secure knowing that this platform is set up to give me the tools and transparency I need to set up my retirement savings, with minimal work on my part. The only critique I have is that the onboarding process was slightly challenging only in terms of the email confirmation steps - I recall having to bounce back and forth between tabs and emails as an administrator and as a user, and that was a little bit complicated. The initial outreach and sales explanation were excellent, followed by attentive and informative follow-ups and a thorough Q&A session. I greatly appreciated the time and care taken to educate me, ensure the plan fit our needs, and provide reassurance about the onboarding process. They honored all promotions, and the orientation and setup were seamless and straightforward, making the experience very comfortable. I explored numerous 401(k) plans for our medium sized business, and far and away the best option without going through an entire HR suite migration, was Human Interest as we were already using Paycor. It is really affordable for the Company, is really easy to understand for our employees, and the implementation for our workforce of over 400 employees was so incredibly simple.
