**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I love how easy the Human Interest 401k experience is. The seamless integration with Gusto, my payroll provider, makes the whole process feel streamlined and almost completely hands-off for me as a business owner. That convenience really cuts down on the time and effort I need to spend managing it. I also appreciate that it lets me set up and run a 401k program for my employees with minimal hassle and at low or no cost to me. The initial setup was very straightforward—basically a phone call and a few forms—and then the direct integration with Gusto took care of everything else. Overall, everything I’ve used with Human Interest has worked well, and that reliability is what I like most.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I’d like more clarity around the different fund options, and/or easier access for my financial advisor so they can help guide my team on what their choices are.

I also wish there were a way for employees to opt in rather than opt out (though that may not be a Human Interest issue).

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Human Interest simplifies 401k management with easy setup and integration with Gusto, making it hands-off for me as a business owner, while also being cost-effective.

  ### 2. Easy 401(k) Setup/Transition with Human Interest with Outstanding Support

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Working with human interest was very simple. From my first meeting with the sales rep all the way through setup and into actively using human interest, the entire staff has been professional and helpful and kind and incredibly flexible and available. They helped me set up my 401K to accommodate my kids, who are under 18 and work for me, as well as transitioning my previous 401K plan to human interest. Overall very satisfied with the implementation and customer service.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The only negative feedback I really have is that it is quite a bit more expensive than my previous plan. Otherwise I don't have any negative feedback.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to enroll my kids on my 401K was a huge plus. They helped me get this set up and they're doing all my reporting and all the things that are required to have a 401k for a small business.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I appreciate Human Interest for its transparency on the website, which provides clarity and assurance when managing my financial plans. The user interface makes viewing my 401(k) straightforward and uncomplicated, greatly enhancing my experience with ease of accessibility. It also allows for effortless account changes, presenting a seamless user experience. The initial setup of Human Interest was incredibly simple and straightforward, further confirming its user-friendly nature. This ease of use significantly reduces barriers in managing my financial journey. Moreover, Human Interest has met all my expectations without fail, which speaks volumes about its reliability and efficiency in delivering its services. This satisfaction is further emphasized by my willingness to highly recommend Human Interest, as evidenced by my perfect recommendation score of ten out of ten.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The website could have more depth, i think

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Human Interest simplifies my 401(k) management, making it easy to view and straightforward to make changes.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

From an employer perspective, I like that Human Interest is affordable. I considered other options, but they were much more expensive for comparable services. Enrollment and ongoing management are straightforward. The online portal is easy to navigate, and the integration with our payroll processor, BambooHR, is a major advantage. Overall, the initial setup was very easy and seamless for my team.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Nothing yet! We've used it for a year now and are pleased with its performance and ease of implementation.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to offer competitive retirement plans affordably, ensuring easy enrollment and management through its user-friendly online portal that syncs seamlessly with payroll processors. As a small nonprofit organization, it can be difficult to find solutions for HR and benefits that are accessible and high quality, but Human Interest solves both of those problems!

  ### 5. Attentive Sales, But Limited Post-Sale Support for Non-Techy Teams

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The Sales team was attentive and not pushy. They reached out at every opportunity if I had any questions or concerns.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

After securing our account, I haven't really heard anything from their retention team. No check ups or anything. I tried asking if a representative could come to our 50 ppl location to give a Lunch & Learn presentation to educate our staff, but they said no and offered the video tutorials already posted, or possibly a live webinar session. Our employees aren't techy so that didn't help us. Human Interest is part of the comprehensive benefits package we offer to employees. Employees are familiar with the brand, but don't know how it works. I wish they had a better presence.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving us money on monthly fees by switching from ADP to Human Interest

  ### 6. Promised Transfer Credit Didn’t Materialize, and Support Was Hard to Reach

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh R. | Founder/CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through a business email account

**Source: G2 invite on behalf of seller:** Invitation from G2 on behalf of a seller or affiliate. This reviewer was not provided any incentive by G2 for completing this review.

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

It lets me adjust my 401k risk level based on market conditions, which I really appreciate. The website is also pretty user-friendly and easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

My overall experience, and first impression was terrible with Human Interest.

Initially, I was contacted by Marco Valdez to sign up for Human Interest (HI). Over the phone, I originally expressed my concern with ADP because they were charging me too much. ADP admitting they were billing me too much for years, and refused to compensate me for the overcharges. At that point, I knew I had to go elsewhere.

During that call, Marco told me all of the benefits of Human Interest. This was also including a $1500 transfer credit for switching to HI. He mentioned it should cover my ADP transfer fee. I remember the conversation, because I mentioned that I believe my ADP fee is $2000, so I may need to pay some out of pocket. He didn't think it was that high, so I said I would look into it later. I did find out that my ADP fee was $1500, and Marco was correct. I was happy to hear I could get out of ADP without paying any fees.

Months after getting everything all set up, I was told I would only be getting a $750 tech credit. When I asked them about the $1500, they told me they don't have that offer. I immediately reached out to Marco Valdez, who never even bothered to contact me back. Already got the sale, so ignoring me must have seemed like a good idea.

I told them I was definitely promised a transfer credit, and I even grew suspicious when the name "Tech Credit" for $750 came out of nowhere. None of those words were ever mentioned on our call.

Unfortunately, none of this was in writing, but it was the least of my concerns to think HI would deceive me. Fortunately, that is where I can bring my feedback to review platforms.

Any time I had to reach out to support, there was never an easy way of just getting help. Each group would take over during the implementation, push you through, and forget all about you. I had an issue where my HI connection wasn't working with ADP, and it was like pulling teeth to get it confirmed. Mind you, this is all within the first few months of setting it all up.

I would leave HI if I didn't just lose $750, and spend months switching it all over. Also, the price ended up not being that competitive in the end. Overall, bad move on my part.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing me to save tax dollars by investing in my retirement.

  ### 7. Helpful Implementation, Intuitive System, and a More Cost-Effective Plan

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The implementation team was very helpful in walking us through our conversion plan and once we started using the system, it was very intuitive and easy to find what I need. The plan has also been more cost effective than our previous plan.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

This has just been a one-time thing but I submitted a question more than 2 weeks ago and the service team has not responded yet. I've submitted questions in the past outside of implementation and received quick responses, so I'm unsure why it's taking so long to get a response for this particular question. We also found out after the switch that our financial advisor could no longer be a part of our plan because Human Interest is no longer an approved provider so we also lost our financial advisor of almost 8 years with this transition.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We only just got started with the program, but so far this has been a cost effective change for us. We got to keep our 401 plan in compliance during the conversion without losing the plan assets. As mentioned before, the website is very intuitive and simple to navigate so employees haven't needed to ask me too many questions regarding enrollment or site access.

  ### 8. Great features, needs better onboarding staff and support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah S. | COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like the admin platform because it lets me oversee everything in one place. I can check on employees’ contributions and update them on how much they’ve invested without them having to log in, which helps them stay informed and get excited. The online platform also performs well, and the pricing feels realistic.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I really disliked the onboarding process, it was very pushy and I was not a fan of the person we had been assigned. I also don't like the support, its difficult to get a real person to assist me when I have questions.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted to offer my employees a 401K option that also allowed myself to invest an appropriate amount to help my retirement.

  ### 9. Automates Contributions but Needs Better Support and Flexibility

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yisroel B. | Director of Payroll and Benefits, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through a business email account added to their profile

**Source: G2 invite on behalf of seller:** Invitation from G2 on behalf of a seller or affiliate. This reviewer was not provided any incentive by G2 for completing this review.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I truly appreciate Human Interest's effective automation and seamless 360 integration with our payroll software. This feature greatly reduces the administrative workload, as staff do not have to frequently contact us to update their deduction details, and we are relieved from manually uploading contribution files. This automation is particularly helpful given our large staff size, as it eliminates the need for constant communication and file submission burdens we faced with other providers. The effective integration with our existing systems streamlines the entire process, allowing us to operate more efficiently and focus on other essential tasks.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

1- The software allows automation for only one plan, which is a limitation for large companies with unions that require multiple plans, thus necessitating manual handling for additional plans. 2- The absence of a mobile app restricts employees from tracking their funds in real-time, which is inconvenient. 3- The communication from the dedicated reps is often disorganized and unclear, with inconsistencies between different representatives' responses and delays in receiving solutions. 4- The billing communication is problematic because it lacks clarity on charges and their justifications.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to automate 401k contributions, reducing manual updates and submissions with our payroll software and eliminating frequent communications about contribution updates.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share constructive feedback. We appreciate your input on what we can improve. We are always looking to enhance our customer experience.

  ### 10. Consistent, Reliable Support and Seamless Payroll Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

This reviewer's identity has been verified by our review moderation team. They have asked not to show their
name, job title, or picture.

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The most helpful aspect of working with Human Interest is the consistency and reliability of their implementation support. We’re able to work with the same knowledgeable contacts each time, which streamlines communication and reduces onboarding friction. The platform itself is easy to navigate, and their support teams are quick to assist when something isn’t immediately clear. Additionally, Human Interest integrates seamlessly with our multiple payroll providers, making the overall process efficient and dependable.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The only challenge I’ve experienced with Human Interest is the inability to transfer an employee’s balance before they are vested. We occasionally have employees who move to a different payroll, and their account cannot transfer until vesting is complete. While this limitation can create delays, Human Interest has thoroughly explained the compliance requirements behind it. Their clear communication has helped us understand why the restriction exists, even if it’s not ideal for our workflow.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest helps us solve the challenge of offering employees a meaningful retirement benefit. This has strengthened our overall benefits package and made our job offers more competitive, as candidates consistently express greater interest when a retirement plan is available. Additionally, the vesting period supports long‑term retention by encouraging employees to stay and grow with the organization.

  ### 11. Choose literally ANYONE else

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I haven’t had a good experience with Human Interest.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I dislike that they don’t seem eager to help resolve issues when they come up, yet they are very quick to blame others for their own shortcomings. They also don’t keep good records.

I signed up with them so I could offer a 401k to my employees without having to do all the work myself or micromanage the process. Money coming from the payroll provider is not applied correctly and the deductions from the payroll provider that was incorrect was mishandled. It has been a long and tedious process for someone with no experience in 401k processing
When there is a problem detected by their system I’m unable to correct employee information in the system when they tell me it’s wrong, because there’s no way to select the correct options.

Overall, my list of dislikes is quite long.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. They make more work for me

**Official Response from Anthony Gomes:**

> I'm very sorry that you haven't received a response to your inquiries, Kathie. This is not the level of service we aim to provide. A member of our Customer Advocacy team will contact you directly to discuss your experience, as we're always looking to improve the customer experience. Thank you for your patience, and we are committed to improving our communication.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

As an employer, I spent considerable time researching various providers before deciding on the best option for my business's 401K plan for our employees. I found Human Interest to be particularly responsive to my questions, and the setup process was straightforward and hassle-free. My employees appreciate how simple it is to adjust their contributions and monitor their portfolios with Human Interest. Overall, Human Interest has made it much easier for me to provide 401K benefits to my team.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I use Gusto to manage payroll, but unfortunately, Human Interest does not integrate with Gusto on a single dashboard. It would be fantastic if this integration were available, as it would mean one less login to keep track of.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was looking for ways to retain my dedicated employees, and one of the benefits I chose to provide was a 401K plan with an employer match. Human Interest made the setup process incredibly easy and stress-free. My employees are pleased, as they can tell that I value and recognize their hard work.

  ### 13. Effortless to Use, lacks communication

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Human interest is easy to use and the dashboard is helpful in keeping track of all of our employees.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I would like recommendations and explanations why it's a smart choice to invest in certain companies. I value education and autonomy. I also would like clear communication and check-ins from a Human Interest agent. We are celebrating our first year with Human Interest but I have not heard from anyone since we began. Also, our contact changed and I was not notified.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest is helping save money for our staff's future and grow it so that we can get the most benefit possible.

  ### 14. Effortless 401(k) Management, Hands-Off Experience

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really appreciate that Human Interest makes managing employee benefits effortless by taking a lot off my plate. I don't have to worry about onboarding information, signing anyone up, filing, or payroll because Human Interest handles it all. It's really easy to use and user-friendly, which means my employees can manage their retirement benefits without constantly needing my help. The fact that it operates hands-off on my end is incredibly valuable, as I simply inform employees that Human Interest will contact them and they take it from there. The initial setup was also very simple.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I don't really like the fact that they automatically sign up our employees. But we have a good system where I tell our new employees that they have to be on the lookout for a Human Interest email because they automatically put a percent of your check into their 401(k).

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Human Interest makes managing 401(k) employee benefits hands-off for me. It handles onboarding, payroll, and filing without my involvement. It's user-friendly, allowing employees to manage their benefits without needing my assistance.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I've continued with this company as the switching cost is high (which is why a SMB buyer should beware). I do like their investment options for the employees, which was an original attractor. But they still have not delivered on the promise to integrate with my PEO so this continues to be a manual effort. They also have quite a bit of turnover and changes to practices, which means I am always explaining my situation to new people. On the positive side, I've gained a relationship with one of the directors and she manages to rescue me when things get too turbulent with HR practices and procedures.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

All the above but mainly the integration with my PEO to deliver on their original promise and to eliminate my manual work each PP.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I contracted with HI to offer a company-matched 401K. I was looking for a high-support partner because I am a small business and really need the help of a professional organization for all elements of this program. It is not yet benefiting me because I am having difficulties launching.

**Official Response from Jill DiNucci:**

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

good communication with the team for resolve problems

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

There have been a few mistakes and missed payments, and this really shouldn’t be happening. We need to be able to trust that our employees’ payments are being handled correctly and on time. We can’t be in a position where we have to track and double-check every payment ourselves.

We also shouldn’t have to manually provide information when something is missing or cannot be found on your end. I expect your team to work directly with the payment provider to resolve any missing information or payment issues.

Human Interest manages our employees’ 401(k) contributions.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really appreciate how easy Human Interest is to work with. They've been very prompt in their responses, and I've yet to have any issues. I love how seamlessly it integrates with Rippling, making things really smooth. Everyone was able to change their elections whenever needed, which was ideal, and switching from a regular to a Roth was perfect. Setting it up was a breeze—just signing a couple of papers and getting everyone to sign up. The automatic enrollment feature was also great, even catching those who didn't sign up on time. The integration with Rippling, who handles our payroll, saved me the hassle of figuring out a separate 401(k) plan. It's genuinely been very easy and efficient.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Nothing

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Human Interest makes it easy to save for retirement with a 401(k) plan and integrates seamlessly with Rippling, saving me time. Setting it up was a breeze, and they automatically enroll everyone, even those who miss the signup deadline.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Human Interest makes retirement planning feel much simpler and more accessible than traditional providers. The platform is intuitive and transparent, and it doesn’t overwhelm you with financial jargon—everything is laid out in a way that’s easy to follow. The payroll integration is seamless, so contributions happen automatically without any manual effort. That reliability, along with the overall ease of use, really stands out.

The main upsides of using Human Interest are accessibility and transparency, strong automation, solid support and compliance, and scalability as your needs grow.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

While the platform is streamlined, sometimes the simplicity means there’s less flexibility for those who want more advanced investment customization or specialized fund choices. The focus is on automation, which is great for many, but it can feel limiting if you prefer a more hands-on role in managing your investments.

Another challenge is customer support. Although generally responsive, there can be delays during peak times, and answers sometimes feel scripted rather than personalized.

Downsides of using Human Interest include:
-Limited Investment Options
-Customer Service Response Times
-Employer Costs

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest solves the complexity, cost, and compliance challenges of offering a retirement plan by automating filings, integrating with payroll, and simplifying the process end-to-end. For me, that means less administrative burden, peace of mind on compliance, and a straightforward way for employees (and myself) to confidently build long-term savings.

  ### 19. Effortless 401(k) Management with Room for Onboarding Improvement

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really like that Human Interest allows me to set and forget it once everything is integrated with my payroll company. I don't have to do much paperwork to maintain compliance for my 401(k) plan, which is great. Once the financial adviser is set and I'm onboarded, the payroll company takes care of the rest. It takes almost zero of my time throughout the year to ensure compliance and manage matches for my employees. My team finds it really easy and user-friendly to set up their accounts.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

At the end of the year, the process for filling out the tax forms feels a bit backwards. It seems like the data formatting and template should be the first step, not the last, which would make it easier. Also, the onboarding stages felt overwhelming, especially for someone like me who hasn't gone through this information before. It would be helpful if someone other than me, the owner, could handle it.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest for managing our 401(k), making compliance paperwork minimal. It's very much a set-and-forget system. Once integrated with payroll, it mostly handles itself, leaving me free to focus on other business tasks.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Human Interest is linked to our Gusto Payroll services so it has been extremely user friendly. It was simple to set up our plan and since set up it has required little to no work on my end for contributions by our employees enrolled to process. The application performs exactly as it should and I have never run into any issues with it. During the initial set up we received wonderful and personal support! Pricing for our plan has been fully covered in partnership with Gusto so that has been a wonderful added bonus.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I personally have not run into any downsides of using Human Interest.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They have completely taken care of our retirement saving options. It's something as a part owner in our organization that I do not have to worry any at all over. Also as someone who is personally enrolled in the 402(b) plan I love that my retirement savings is safe, organized, and taken care of.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

That Human Interest Integrates with my payroll company

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

When changes are made such as the 2.0 Act, I received an agreement to sign with no communication as to what exactly is changing and if or how it affects our company. When I was approached by Jan Russell to switch to your company, a lot of what Jan sold us on and stated was inaccurate or she failed to mention you offer certain things but at an additional cost. Also once I was transitioned into your company, I was never contacted by the person who handles our company 401K needs to introduce themselves, they never check in or as I stated they should pick up the phone an explain changes that will be taking place and go over those changes and then send in writing a follow email to ensure our understanding. The company I was with prior July services, was way more involved and I could actually speak with a person. Your company comes across as though you don't want to have communication at all with your customers.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I’ve found Human Interest incredibly easy to set up, which has saved me a lot of time. Their support team is great, and it makes the whole 401k process feel quick, straightforward, and effective from start to finish. I haven’t had any negative experiences so far. As someone starting a new 401k plan, I also appreciate the tax benefits, though the experience would be even better with clearer explanations around how everything works. It is also very cost competitive which was one of the primary drivers that drove us to choose Human Interest. Lastly the user interface is simple allowing for quickly switching between individual user screens and employer screens. Furthermore, the simple udpates for tasks needing to be completed are incredibly easy to follow and complete.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

There was nothing bad. As a new 401k plan, there are tax benefits which can be somewhat confusing. Anything that can make that as clear as possible would be great.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest for our 401k plans, which are easy to set up with great support, making the process quick and effective. Before Human Interest we did not have. a 401k plan. Human Interest's cost structure was compelling, which gave us ample incentive to start the plan. Immediately after starting the plan, our employees increased their contributions, further enhancing the value proposition of the plan. It has been very well received.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really like how Human Interest links seamlessly with our payroll provider. Even though we're not sophisticated 401(k) administrators, they ensure we are well taken care of. The seamless API links are particularly helpful; Human Interest manages the eligibility of our staff for 401(k) and aligns our payroll systems so that contributions are automatically taken when an employee becomes eligible. This is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The biggest issue that we've had was that the integration with Rippling has not been as smooth as it was with TriNet. It's not as seamless and there have been issues with the implementation. The setup with Rippling was more challenging compared to the very easy setup we had with TriNet.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We find that Human Interest takes care of the entire 401(k) contribution process, seamlessly working with our payroll providers. Their API links manage staff eligibility and align payroll systems, automating contributions. This is very helpful, especially since we're not sophisticated 401(k) administrators.

I use Human Interest for providing 401K benefits to my small business. It's super easy to use, which is crucial for me as a small business owner because my time is valuable. I really appreciate that it connects seamlessly with Gusto, my payroll software, and there are no fees for this integration. The simplicity of the initial setup was impressive; I barely had to do anything, and my employees were able to register with ease. This integration takes the guesswork out of retirement benefits and makes everything seamless.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

They mentioned they were going to start charging for their services. I will be very disappointed if they start charging because I will cancel my account with them. When I signed up, the person I spoke with said for the foreseeable future it will be free with Gusto integration and I expect them to stand by that.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest for 401(k) for my small business. It allows my employees to have retirement benefits and is super easy to use. The integration with Gusto makes everything seamless for me, saving time and eliminating the guesswork out of retirement benefits.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

It was great in the beginning and unfortunately their was an error made on their end that they owned up to their mistake however it cost my company over $1,000 extra, there was indeed out of pocket cost because funds were withdrawn automatically from our account. Thank you for your patience on this! You’ve got the right idea. During a recent review, we identified that some employee contributions weren't processed as they should have been. Because this was an error on our end, we’ve applied a Correction Credit to resolve it.
What this means for you:
No out-of-pocket cost: We’ve already moved the necessary funds into the affected employee accounts to make them whole. Since Human Interest covered the cost of this correction, there isn't a refund due to the company; instead, we used those funds to fix the discrepancy directly.

We handle the paperwork: When contributions are delayed, the IRS requires a specific filing called Form 5330. This is simply a report used to document the correction. Our team is taking care of the preparation for you.

Next steps: When the filing deadline approaches, we will send the completed form to you for a quick review and signature. You don’t need to take any action until then.

You can find a full breakdown of the specific amounts and employees affected in the Error Correction Reports section of your Document Library on the admin dashboard. We’ve also included summaries there that you can share with your team members if they have questions about their accounts.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I had a few minor hiccups during setup because I was both an owner and an employee, and they needed to merge my two accounts. It took a few weeks to get everything sorted out, but once it was resolved, it worked smoothly. After that, a few additional issues came up and were only resolved after multiple calls and emails with three different departments.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I absolutely appreciate the integration of Human Interest with Gusto, which makes managing employee benefits seamless and cost-effective for us. Setting up Human Interest was straightforward, thanks to the responsive support team and intuitive design. The overwhelming flexibility in choosing different retirement plans and configuring investment amounts stands out as highly beneficial. The simple and approachable interface distinguishes itself from typical financial software, providing a smoother user experience. Additionally, the discount due to our use of Gusto makes this service even more valuable.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I find it would be helpful if Human Interest offered more educational materials for employees unfamiliar with a 401(k) or its workings. As our team is relatively young and new to this, having those resources readily available could have been beneficial a few months ago.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest offers our employees retirement benefits, reducing tax burdens and boosting savings. Its integration with Gusto simplifies administration, making setup easy and efficient. The platform's design and flexible investment options enhance user experience, aiding talent attraction and retention.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

It’s frustrating not having access to support staff who can help employees change their contribution amounts, especially for those who aren’t very tech-savvy. This makes what should be a simple update feel unnecessarily difficult for some people.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Offering a 401K as an additional benefit, integrated with QBO, makes it very smooth to keep everything organized in one place. It’s easy to track all payroll information and stay on top of it without jumping between systems.

I have been wanting to add the benefit of 401K for my staff, had originally been contacted by my bank on how to set it up but the process was confusing and complicated and I seem to fall thru the cracks, when I spoke with my payroll rep he recommended Human Interest and we were luckily able to stop one sign up to Human Interest. Each member of the Human Interest group seemed to care, took the time I needed to understand and proceed appropriately and then followed up. The actual installation and set up, sign up and installation went smoothly, no hassle, no complications. Each of my staff members feel comfortable as do I.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Most helpful was their patience and ability to make it all understandable.

I like that they integrate with our payroll provider.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

It is very hard to get in touch with our account manager or any human for that matter. It would be nice to have a direct email to reach out to our account manager rather than having to go through the AI chat then having to go through the standard help email.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They really only solved our 401K issue. However, they have not been attentive in our needs and many issues have spiraled as a result.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Cost is fair. They are responsive to phone calls and emails. You can talk to a real US based person pretty quickly.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I have a few complaints. You can only make percentage based contributions and not dollar amount contributions. This was misrepresented to me during sales calls. Their backend system is limited in in its functionality. It is currently not possible for employees to take Emergency Personal Expense distributions per the Secure 2.0. It has taken them several weeks to allocate the funds received from our previous provider. They say you get a dedicated account manager, but those "dedicated" managers do not have their own email addresses. If you send an email, you could get a response from anyone in a pool of people. The dedicated account managers have very limited power to actually do anything. They really serve as middle men between the customer and other parts of Human Interest. A lot of questions are answered with statements like "let me check with the compliance team" or "I will let you know what the conversion team says". It will take several days and multiple emails to resolve anything.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They answer the phone and charge a fair and transparent price for their service.

**Official Response from Anthony Gomes:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share constructive feedback. We're glad to hear your feedback on responsiveness and support, and we appreciate your input on what we can improve. We are always looking to enhance our customer experience, so I'm passing this information on to our team.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Every time i have a question or need to make changes, their support is so helpful. I am not very familiar with 401ks, and they always take their time to walk through it and make sure I understand it.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I just am not familiar with 401ks so its nothing i don't like about them, its my own lack of understanding for how they work.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having everything in one place. I do not like having a lot of different platforms and I really appreciate that this integrates directly with Gusto.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

What I like best about Human Interest is how easy it makes offering and managing a 401(k) plan. The platform handles much of the administrative work, integrates with payroll systems, and provides employees with a simple, user friendly way to save for retirement. It allows businesses to offer a valuable benefit while reducing the time and effort typically required to manage a retirement plan.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

One aspect I dislike about Human Interest is that the investment options can be somewhat limited compared to larger 401(k) providers, which may restrict employees who want more control over their retirement investments.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest addresses a challenge many small and medium-sized businesses face when trying to offer retirement benefits. Traditionally, 401(k) plans can be expensive, time-consuming, and difficult to administer. Human Interest simplifies the process by automating payroll integration, compliance tasks, and employee enrollment. For us, this reduces the administrative burden, helps us stay compliant, and makes it easier to offer a valuable retirement benefit that supports employee recruitment, retention, and long-term financial wellness.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The biggest advantage I find with Human Interest is the full integration with Paycom, which allows me as an employer to grant employees the capability to handle everything themselves without being a middleman. The website is relatively easy to use and seamless, and the user interface performs well. Customer service has been decent, with relatively frequent replies. I appreciate that I don't have to set up or update employee four zero one k contributions manually, as everything is integrated and managed through the API.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I find it a major hindrance that there is no integration with certain financial management apps for our employees, like Rocket Money. I also dislike the fact that there's no actual app; instead, I have to use a shortcut on my home screen for management. Additionally, I find it limiting that Human Interest doesn't connect with a lot of other software that we use.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest seamlessly integrates our 401(k) with Paycom, eliminating the need to switch between platforms and automating tasks like enrollments and contribution updates. It allows employees self-service access, reducing my role as a middleman.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

It’s easy to use and integrates well with the platforms we already use (Gusto and Quickbooks). Support has always been prompt, and the pricing has been straightforward. The program runs smoothly and performs exactly as it should. The intelligence in investments takes the guesswork out and makes the process feel much more clear.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I wish it provided more education to me on the "why" behind the investments. I also wish there was more active participation from my relationship manager. In fact I think my relationship manager changed and they didn't inform me.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allowed me to provide important benefits for my employees. I cherish my employees and want to provide the best benefits I can. It assists with rollovers so it took that completely off of my plate.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The onboarding team was easy to work with, and the overall process was smooth. I also appreciate working with a knowledgeable support team—they’ve been responsive and have resolved all of our issues so far.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Sometimes I wish I could just pick up the phone and call someone, but it’s still nice having a dedicated account manager. Because of that, I don’t really mind waiting to hear back from him.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were informed during the onboarding process that we needed a separate sub-account for the business owner. That turned out to be wrong and we had to remove that sub account and request a refund of duplicate withdrawals for that owner.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I use Human Interest to run my 401k plan and I'm very pleased with the low cost index funds and the type of fund companies available. I love that it syncs with my QuickBooks payroll and doesn't require me to remit the funds, as Human Interest takes the funds from the checking. I appreciate the 'set it and forget it' feeling it provides.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I'd love to see them offer lower assets under management for higher balances. Once assets in the 401k pass 500k or 1M, the AUM fee percentage should drop and incentivize me to roll traditional IRAs, etc., that have no fees. Because I started a new company and still had the old company, it was complicated to have the same plan cover both.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to run my 401(k) without managing funds manually. It syncs with QuickBooks, deducts funds directly from checking, and offers low-cost index funds, enhancing returns.

At G2, we prefer fresh reviews and we like to follow up with reviewers. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

What I like best about Human Interest is how easy and user-friendly the entire platform is. Everything is straightforward. From managing contributions to accessing account information, which makes the experience really simple for both employees and administrators.

I also really appreciate that Human Interest partners with a third party to help facilitate rollovers. It takes the stress and confusion out of the process and ensures everything is handled smoothly and correctly. That level of support makes a big difference and is one of the reasons I think the service stands out.
I’m a current customer of Human Interest, and I'm writing this review in exchange for a $25 gift card incentive, which creates a material conflict of interest as it creates a financial incentive to write a favorable review.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I don’t really have any significant dislikes about Human Interest. My experience has been positive overall and the platform is easy to use, the support is helpful, and the rollover process is streamlined with the third-party partner.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest is solving the problem of how complicated and time-consuming retirement plans usually are for both employers and employees. They’ve created a platform that makes everything from signing up, to managing contributions, to handling rollovers much easier and more accessible.

For me, the biggest benefit is how streamlined the process is. I don’t have to deal with confusing paperwork or long wait times, and their third-party rollover support takes all the stress out of transferring funds. Overall, they’ve removed the usual headaches that come with retirement accounts and made it really straightforward to stay on top of everything.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really appreciate how easy Human Interest made it to set up our 401K account. They work directly with Paycor, our provider for HR services, which made the process seamless. Once they got things set up, I didn't have to deal with anything else, and that was very nice. My favorite part is that it's all managed by the employees themselves. They make their own selections, so I don't have to get involved with the details. I just receive the report and forward it to whoever needs to handle the payments and everything gets taken care of. Also, the setup process was very easy. I contacted the company online, and the rep got in touch with me to start everything. Human Interest was very good at waiting until everything was up and running smoothly, even with Paycor's integration taking some extra time.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I have nothing bad to say.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest made it easy to set up our 401K account, working directly with Paycor for HR services. The employee-driven process means I don't have to manage selections, just forward reports. Despite some Paycor integration delays, Human Interest ensured a smooth start.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

We’ve had a very positive experience overall, so there isn’t much to dislike. If I had to point to one area for improvement, it would be having more advanced reporting and customization options for plan administrators. That said, the platform’s simplicity and ease of use are among its biggest strengths.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest solves the challenge of offering and managing a 401(k) plan without creating a significant administrative burden. The platform streamlines enrollment, payroll integration, and ongoing plan management, making it easy for us to provide a valuable retirement benefit to our employees. This has saved our team time, reduced complexity, and helped support our employees' long-term financial well-being.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The platform is very easy to use and the onboarding process was straightforward. Plan administration is simple and the interface is intuitive, which makes managing a company 401(k) much less cumbersome than expected. Customer service has also been consistently responsive and helpful whenever questions come up.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The biggest downside is the investment lineup. The fund options are fairly limited and not especially compelling compared to other retirement platforms. In my case, the portfolio was heavily allocated toward a Russell 3000-based strategy, which felt like an unusual allocation even for an aggressive investment profile. Overall, the investment choices could benefit from better diversification and stronger fund options.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest simplifies the process of offering and administering a 401(k) plan for a small business. It makes setup, compliance, and ongoing plan management much easier than traditional providers, and the user-friendly platform helps both administrators and employees manage their retirement accounts without needing specialized knowledge.

I like that Human Interest is all streamlined, which makes managing the 401k process easier. If I need help, I appreciate having a customer service rep to talk to. The transparency they have is really nice—everybody can see exactly what they have. Additionally, the initial setup was easy.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Getting a hold of customer service could be faster rather than having to schedule an appointment. I think having a direct phone number or email to our rep would be a great improvement.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest simplifies offering 401(k) plans and onboarding employees. It streamlines processes, invests funds, and provides transparency. I appreciate having one place for everything and the availability of customer support.

At G2, we prefer fresh reviews and we like to follow up with reviewers. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Switching to Human interest was a truly simple process. We had a dedicated account manager who helped us to transition away from our previous service. This account manager was tremendously helpful in troubleshooting and finding solutions.

Now that we are all the way set up, I appreciate the simplicity of administration. Human Interest connects to Quickbooks for simple implementation - meaning that after the initial setup there is very little time required for ongoing maintenance. Any time I have had an issue or question, I have received prompt and useful support.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Human Interest has been an outstanding platform and there is very little to dislike. If I had to highlight one possible issue, it would be that their support chat uses an AI bot and sometimes the bot can give repetitive answers (meaning it seems like it isn't picking up context from the previous messages in the chat thread).

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest is our 401k solution - it's fully automated and all online, but we are able to benefit from an in-person advisor.

It is simple to navigate and our staff loves that they are able to be as self-service as they would like to be.

In addition to being a better solution than our previous provider, it is less costly to administer.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Even though Human Interest is one of the leaders in 401K services, to them you are not a number or dollar sign, you are a person or an employer that could use their help. Their customer service is fantastic and their ease to use and do things on their platform is the best, especially the performance and speed of it. Cost-wise, they are much better than our previous. Their integration and transfering of data from our previous carrier was super easy.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

There is nothing to dislike about Human Interest. They have been great every step of the way.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What they help us solved is getting out of a costly plan from our previous carrier and helping us and the team understand retirement plans and 401K.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I find the customer service at Human Interest really helpful as they effectively resolve issues. This is especially valuable for our small team, which handles dual roles, as it reduces the burden of answering individual team members' questions about enrollment. Additionally, the initial setup was easy because Human Interest seamlessly pulled everything from Rippling.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Communication about the account paperwork needs improvement. It would be nice to get an email that takes you directly to where you need to go, but usually, it just tells you to log in, and then you have to navigate. It would also be helpful if there were little blurbs about the purpose of the paperwork and what you need to do.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest handles 401(k) management requirements for our state, and their customer service is helpful with resolving issues. This relieves us from managing team inquiries about enrollment, allowing our small team serving dual roles to focus on other tasks.

I did struggle with the actual general ledger flow of the Human Interest draws but that is a different for each business. Maybe a little more guidance or options of how to code the actual bank draws for the invoices.

Meeting all the regulations and rules required for a 401k for my employees!

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I love the way that Human Interest makes things so simple. From set up to the administration of the account. As a business administrator there are always something on my never ending to do list. As a small nonprofit we can't offer many benefits to our employees, so when I got information from our payroll company Gusto about Human Interest I set up a meeting to speak with one of their representatives. All I had to do was profit them some information and they did the rest. When everything was set up, they called me and make sure that everything was going well. It has been a pleasure working with them.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

There is noting that come to mind right now.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They solve the problem of us being able to offer a benefit to our employees even though we are small.
