What do you like best about HockeyStack?

HockeyStack was a suprisingly quick implementation (our SFDC instance is a bit of a hot mess, so I fully expected it to take longer).

Attribution modeling in the platform is simply fantastic, the platform allows marketers to showcase the value-add of marketing activity. The platform is simultaneously able to provide at a glance KPIs and deep insights into channel, activity and tactical performance.

The implementation and customer success teams are amazing. The core strength of HockeyStack is that their team is fully committed to successfully delivering value and it shows in every interaction you have. What do you dislike about HockeyStack?

It took us a long time to pull the trigger on the tool, and we went back and forth on our own assumptions of timing.

The onboarding was a little clunky, but that was likely due to our team transitions. I think a more widespread, generic training at the start would have been helpful in the first few weeks to increase initial adoption across the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

HockeyStack is helping us track what was previously considered the dark funnel. We have insights into activities I previously thought were immeasurable and unable to be tracked. With this information we have been able to justify ToFu marketing spend and also narrow in on what initiatives are working or not working. We have also been able to consolidate all digital spend into a single platform and view associated metrics for all ad types and platforms, which our previous BI tool wasn't fully able to do. What do you like best about HockeyStack?

Hockeystack provides our team powerful insights that no other tool we have found can uncover. There are unlimited use cases for this tool; every team can find a way to utilize the data that comes from it.

Reporting that used to take me months in our CRM can take me less than an hour in Hockeystack due to their design on the backend with timestamping. It has been a gamechanger and life saver with our rapidly evolving board metrics.

What do you dislike about HockeyStack?

Updating this section of my review due to the complete attention and care given from the Hockeystack team. This team truly cares about their product, reputation, and customers. Their customer support is up there with how our current CRM's used to be a few years ago (those who know, know).

Set up is a huge learning curve. Lily was amazing in helping us! But even if you get a great CSM, it took weeks for how things work to "click". If you are the one setting up the tool, be prepared to block off your calendar for at least a week to fully dive in.

Find an internal champion (or a few) to learn the ropes and teach/help others as the logic some reporting is not as intuitive as other BI tools or metrics platforms. There are reports that appear to be working, but if you're in doubt check with their support team as you may still have set it up incorrectly due to the advanced backend they have runnning.

As with every start up SAAS product, there are some bugs that need to be worked through, but Buğra and the rest of the team work over time to fix it all. Also, they are hiring more engineers every day and are rapidly working on improving the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is HockeyStack solving and how is that benefiting you?

With our CRM we struggled reporting across objects and Hockeystack makes it way easier. Also, seeing journeys for one company in one place saves us tons of time because we don't need to flip from one place to another. Hockeystack also brings all of our data to one tool so we can see actions like LinkedIn Engagements, Google Ad Engagements, etc, way more than we could before. What do you like best about HockeyStack?

The most helpful thing about HockeyStack is that if you're crafty with your CRM and other third party tools, you can plug them all in seamlessly to see your whole GTM department's performance in one place. That place, HockeyStack is also a perfect suitor for communicating performance to your board. It's the best data tool I've found in 5+ years to communicate GTM data up, down, and across your organization. What do you dislike about HockeyStack?

What some might dislike about HockeyStack is actually something I really like about it. They are a startup. That means what might be normal to you can be an edge case for them. All of these instances have been swiftly addressed and customized for some needs. If using a more enterprise company as my GTM BI tool, a 1-800 number would be stuck in my face and I'd have to hire consultants and a dedicated GTM BI professional who would take 6 months+ for me to even look at something to review the first time. Many scaling enterprises focus on dialing in their third-party tools and plugging it into a platform like HockeyStack is an afterthought. If you're not plugging into a platform like HockeyStack, forget about plugging into a data warehouse down the road and treating it as a business asset. In the first 3-5 years of a new busines, even when it's going to plan in terms of revenue, most GTM leaders and users are focused in the year in front of them. HockeyStack can enable them to document performance and strategically plan for years to come, not just in terms of the tactical benefits of HockeyStack but also in terms of how it enables a broader more professional GTM data architecture to integrate with the business as a whole and thus transforming data into an asset. What do you like best about HockeyStack?

Based on my experience with attribution systems, there were two choices:

• Hire a team of engineers to design, build, and implement a system (which will often be broken both intellectually and implementation-wise unless they are experienced in attribution systems).

• Or engage HockeyStack, who has obsessed over the B2B attribution problem for years, to implement a flexible attribution system in 4 weeks for a fraction of the cost.

The team was on top of things (Shirley & Buğra) and were super knowledgeable about both the product and B2B attribution; my speed was often the blocker on implementation, which was a refreshing experience!

The problem of being a super flexible and customisable tool is that there isn't a lot of out-of-the-box features. Everything needs to be built from the ground up, including segmentations, goal definitions, touchpoint definitions, etc.

With Hockeystack, we've been able to make thoughtful decisions around which marketing tactics are producing impactful results on pipeline and closed-won business. We use the tool on a daily basis to measure performance against goals, highlight themes/topics resonating with prospective buyers, and proof out the value of marketing investments. Since many stakeholders work outside the platform, it can be tough to embed or export reporting elsewhere for broader visibility. In the future it'd be fantastic to be able to embed reports in external presentations, or export .pngs to be embedded in slides. What do you like best about HockeyStack?

Over the years, I have had the pain of trying to get really good mixture of analytics and attribution when it comes to letting me know how much our marketing efforts are influencing and what impact its having. HockeyStack is the best for this to date and here is a few reasons why:

1 - HockeyStack, paints a much better strategic picture when it comes to understanding the impact of all our marketing efforts and it' connect to revenue. Not only does it help us understand what's working, it enables us to make quicker data driven decisions to scale quicker.

2 - HockeyStack brings all our paid efforts in one place. The marketing performance tracking by the platform gives us a view of influence and lift beyond metrics provide by other data providers and delivers insights which we can confidently action on some.

3 - Strategic Support and Collaboration . For us, this is a huge benefit. Our company is looking to scale at an sustainable pace and having Hockeystack is almost as an extension of our marketing team, which has been great. They take our data and collaborative with all our team in achieving our marketing goals. Not many providers offer such.

4 - We have seen good value with the intent feature offered by HockeyStack when it comes to indentifing our traffic and mathcing them to our ICP. This has saved us from more tool bloat in this area and our revenue team is now enabled to grab this data and act on it. Understanding where a potential customer is in the buying journey allows our BDRs and AE's to personalize their approach and focus their efforts on those prospects most likely to convert. This increases sales efficiency and effectiveness that consequently impacts revenue growth.

Conclusion:

HockeyStack proves to be an essential tool if you seek to improve your marketing and sales effectiveness through insights compelled by data. With its ability in detailed attribution analysis, performance tracking, strategic support as well as intent tracking, it's quickly becomming our best friend at a marketing level. What do you dislike about HockeyStack?

Potential users should set aside time not only for the initial setup with the HockeyStack team but as well for carrying out an ongoing collaboration which will help scale efforts strategically. It is time-consuming, but one that can bring immense benefit to those prepared to invest the initial hours or so required.

One of the aspects of Hockeystack which I find somewhat of a dislike is the loading time for the reports. It provides priceless insights at the platform, though takes a little bit of time in generating reports and sometimes won't load at all. This causes certain delays to manifest during presentations, leaving room for awkward pauses and needs to be addressed. With Hockeystack, we can figure out a long standing pain point, identifying which of our marketing moves truly work and which don't, enabling us to scale smarter.
