I like the high performance of HiveMQ as an MQTT broker which is necessary for our IoT applications. It can handle a large number of messages effectively, which is crucial for ensuring proper device interaction. The scalability aspect of the software is also a major plus in that we are able to expand our IoT structure without compromising on performance. Our cloud platforms are integrated with HiveMQ to make data handling easier and more accessible. One of the unique options is the possibility to track and control the system with the help of the intuitive dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I still would like to mention the fact that HiveMQ might be relatively expensive in comparison to other platforms for small projects or startups. This can be a significant disadvantage for some organizations especially those that are just establishing themselves in a given market. Furthermore, the software’s stability is internally high, but outsiders may have to go through a learning curve to familiarize with MQTT protocols slowing the process slightly. These aspects have sometimes raised the issue of the cost justification and ensuing training necessary, particularly when the downturn is limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I primarily used the Edge HiveMQ solution. The HTTP interface that can be used to adjust bridge settings made configuration investigation easy. Deployment was simple, because of the JVM. The broker appears to follow MQTT protocol and was easy to integrate into our system. The support channel is quite responsive, and the history of previously asked questions saved me time. For most questions I have, search engines usually discover a high quality HiveMQ article with an answer or tutorial to answer them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Edge broker is written in Java, which, with the JVM, is known to have some computational overhead. Some expected differences for Java-based programs include higher memory consumption and less performance than lower-level languages like C, C++, Golang, and Rust. In my testing and comparison of brokers, HiveMQ for the Edge did use more memory, resulting in less performance than Mosquitto (written in C) on a resource-constrained device during high message volume. It's probable that many use-cases will find this performance hit neglegible. The configuration is XML, which can be less pleasant to read and work with than JSON, or YAML. Features to control files access and sharing permission for a better protection againts unwanted lurker. Simple monitoring that sent alert if IoT devices is tampered or performing unauthorized action that againts policies. Implement alert/notification that track overall devices health for proactive maintainance that saves time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Available bandwitdh tracker isn't as accurate that I was hoping. I still need to monitor it closely to get real-time data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the Reliability and Performace (Able to handle huge volume of devices) , Ease of use along with security features, Customer support , Sacalability and intergration capabilities with databases, analytics plaforms do help a lot to reduce development time Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The service is slightly on the expensive side and there are usability issues with some features like cost management, configuration, Documentation and user interface could be intuitive Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have used HiveMQ in two of my startups and have been impressed with the HiveMQ team both times. They're incredibly responsive and supportive, which sets them apart from others in the industry. Their product, HiveMQ, is top-notch, and the support team goes above and beyond what I've seen in similar offerings.
At Lumo, we are developing irrigation management solutions for food growers, where having a reliable and high-performing platform is not just essential but critical. HiveMQ Cloud has been the most effective solution for us, giving us peace of mind and the ability to run our operations smoothly without worrying about self-managing a critical piece of our cloud infrastructure.
Our HiveMQ account manager is extremely sharp and responsive when we need help. I've also had experience with their on-prem product (we installed in our own AWS) at my previous start-up (Flo Technologies), and the platform's stability, flexibility, and reliability helped us significantly to get to the acquisition.
The out-of-the-box integrations (Apache Kafka, Authorization, and PostgreSQL) are a huge time-saver and have significantly reduced our development time. All in all, I highly recommend HiveMQ and their team to anyone looking for a reliable, efficient, and effective platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is little to say here as I am a happy customer.
I think a minor improvement I'd like is the ability to see more detailed analytics in the HiveMQ Control Center, especially on the Kafka extension page. It would be sweet to see the message publish rate broken down to mqtt<> Kafka topic mappings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Everything that I need to manage and control devices workflow is available on HiveMQ, especially with IoT device. The visualization control help me to understand and view data easier and see how many connection is the network handling at one time. Real-time monitoring for client session is helpful in protecting devices security and protection from unwanted connection that pose breach/leak to network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Devices discovery isn't too accurate in finding new device that I can add automatically. Some IoT device need to be configure manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Great support from the customer support team that help with setup process. Features to monitor and limit IoT devices function to comply with policies in place. Data tracker and management to analyze IoT performance and usefulness. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have nothing to dislike with HiveMQ. Most of the tools is effective for our IoT operation and management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The way the tools is operating to simplify IoT connection and monitoring session. Auto-detection for device setup is brilliant and out standing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Reduce price for small/medium enterprise. The cloud plan for serverless is quite expensive even for a basic plan. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The flexibility in deployment options and strong integrations further enhance its usefulness by adapting to different needs and simplifying data management within the existing infrastructure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
HiveMQ isn't perfect. Sometimes find managing devices and testing connections to be a bit trickier than they'd like. If having a super user-friendly way to handle the devices and dig into detailed logs is absolutely essential for some project, you might want to check out some other MQTT brokers to see if they feel more comfortable. But for most projects, these quirks are pretty minor compared to everything HiveMQ does well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With flexible deployment options and strong integration capabilities, the platform seamlessly adapts to diverse environments, simplifying data management within existing infrastructures.
The platform's adaptability is enhanced through flexible deployment choices and robust integrations, streamlining data management and meeting diverse organizational needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
HiveMQ offers a robust platform, but device management and connection testing processes could be more intuitive. If a project requires an exceptionally user-friendly interface for device handling and in-depth log analysis, other MQTT brokers might provide a better fit. Nevertheless, for the majority of projects, HiveMQ's overall capabilities far surpass these minor shortcomings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At LMKR, we rely on HiveMQ Cloud for our critical irrigation management solutions. This platform's reliability and performance are indispensable for ensuring optimal crop yields. HiveMQ has been a game-changer, freeing us to focus on innovation without the burden of managing complex infrastructure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with HiveMQ. One area for potential improvement would be to expand the analytics available in the HiveMQ Control Center, particularly on the Kafka extension page Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
