What do you like best about JAMS?

Drag and drop modules and tasks make scheduling complex jobs a breeze. Integrations such as File Transfer Protocol, PGP encryption/decryption, and compression tools are all the great features and add significant value. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

Desktop client is resource-heavy and more work is needed to make web-client more useful. I would also like to see full-feature set become available for Unix agents. Documentation also needs improvements which is behind competition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about JAMS?

It has the flexibility to create all types of jobs.

It has both and thin client so that we can add as many users as needed to run their own jobs.

The software affordable compared to other packages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

The software is not as intuitive to populate properties. To find some features it take a lot of hunting to find out. The documentation should be better so that do things ourselves. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kevin Casey of JAMS

What do you like best about JAMS?

The software is flawless. I can see job success, failure, and current. The ETL team set up data feeds, server connections, user logins - and every new client is easy breezy to get it up and running. The dashboard overview is very useful and makes my job as a dba better. I can see the job, the criteria, and 99% of the time the trouble can be identified without further investigation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

The yearly purchase and license update is a bit of a pain. The price leaves you with a little sticker shock - but it’s worth the price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kevin Vliet of JAMS

What do you like best about JAMS?

The sequence design is very good to implement batch jobs with dependency, running in a serial or parallel way. This saves time and smoothes batch operations in a complicated environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

Ftp file transferring is not supported between agents, especially across platforms. Besides, it will be better if JAMS has an agent (not agentx using ssh) for UNIX/Linux servers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about JAMS?

We run hundreds of jobs a day internally for our company. From accounting to IT and most importantly for our shipping and receiving department. Upgrading to V7 has made this even more flexible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

I am really enjoying V7. There are a few things that do get under my skin a bit. One, tooltips get in my way when trying to save my work on a job. Two, while I was upgrading from V6 to V7 I would get these error messages and they are really tiny scroll windows with no way to expand them. I've seen the same issue in other areas of JAMS V7 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kevin Casey of JAMS

Feel free to reach out to JAMS Support if you find that you need any type of assistance with JAMS. Thank you for the awesome feedback once again.

What do you like best about JAMS?

Monitor screen

credentials stored in the application

History inqury.

Sequence jobs are handy.

The whole purpose of JAMS, getting out of scheduled tasks is why we purchased it. Gives us the benefits of a single place to look and manage regular tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

Credentials are onboarded with incorrect security in a shared/team environment, i.e. adding a service account. it's a major pain to manage that. Other team members often forget to fix the security.

Parts of the UI arent great - found v6 slightly better. There a trace dumps in places where a user tries an action and they don't have the correct security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kevin Vliet of JAMS

Thanks for the review and feedback! It's great to hear that you're getting the value out of JAMS that drove you to purchase it in the first place. It really is a great tool for centralized scheduling and management of jobs across your entire environment. It also looks like you raised a few concerning points where we may be able to improve on credential security as well as user experience. If you don't mind, please reach out to JAMS Support so we can discuss these topics in a bit more detail. Let them know I suggested you reach out!

What do you like best about JAMS?

I can use tasks to execute based on numerous triggers or combinations thereof. There are tasks that can be done with PowerShell programming and other functions that have modules already built. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

Debugging scripted tasks is a little bit cumbersome. I wish there were better capabilities to debug within the Jams editor. It's possible to debug things, but not as easy as it should be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kevin Casey of JAMS

Thanks for the great review Mike. We always love hearing from our Customers and take suggestions to improve the Product. Automating to cut out the manual work is a great timesaver and is a great use of JAMS. If there is anything we can help with, any further suggestions you may have, please do not hesitate to reach out to Support.

I love how it is customizable and you can see all jobs in progress and the history of the jobs when you click into one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

The only thing I would say could be an improvement is, I would like to be able to see a live timeline of daily jobs I have set up to see visually what is due. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kevin Casey of JAMS
