Does it's basic job well, fairly easy to use. Pricing is high for what it is, but not nearly as bad as some of the competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Fortra seems to be just milking the JAMS licensing fees. The technology is very old and there are numerous features (some fairly trivial) and non-critical bugs that should be implemented or fixed that Fortra does not seem inclined to fix. They are happy to take ticket for the bug or feature, but will not commit to fixing any of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
To have only one tools that can automate my entire process for variety of jobs , the process is visible to all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The lack of some tools that we need to install manually on the server manually, and hopefully they can be added on next version such as PGP , SQL Management tools, more template for cloud and so on Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
JAMS enables us to easily automate all aspects of our business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We haven't found anything to dislike about the scheduler aside from upgrading to the new version being more involved than we'd like it to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The notifications that occur when a job fails and the knowledge that it is continually testing is re assuring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The syntax changes in migrating to the latest version. I see the benefits of the changes but it is a little painful to have to change so many of our jobs to meat the new syntax. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The support is excellent, and replies are prompt. Issues are nearly always sorted in the same day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It could be more straightforward to deploy agent upgrades Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have been using JAMS for about 8 years. Mostly my jobs consist of PowerShell jobs, and they allow for parameters to be used so I can make common functions and create jobs quickly. It allows me to do a lot of specialized jobs for my customers. Their support is excellent, and they get back to you in a reasonable amount of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am using JAMS 6.x and have not had any problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The menu is flexible and intuitive. I like being able to customize it for myself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some features are not visible depending on menu selected. i.e. would be nice to view history straight from definition, and likewise view the definition from history. In some cases, we have multiple set ups with the same name but located in different definition folders.
Also would like to see the definition location in the job log file as well as and job completion notifications (I did stumble once on something that may allow this to be configured but can not locate it now in the help).
I believe the SQL Agent Method is fairly new and it seems to have some issues with jobs running in a continual repeat cycle. We are working through testing solutions for that, but I don't think the support team is well versed in all the advanced details to resolve issues and possible bugs. Since implementing JAMS 3 years ago, it has been the most problem-free solution of all that my team supports.
The layout of definitions and the ability to add comments at multiple levels of step build within properties are very helpful.
Controlling the failure severity notifications is a plus.
Log file review is convenient in diagnosing connection issues and general debugging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is very little to dislike about JAMS. The only drawback is the apparent limitation on security to control the definition views. We have several different support teams using JAMS in our organization and sometimes it would be helpful to not see the entire organization's listing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Overall, we are delighted with the flexibility of JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler and the ability to leverage technology to further integrate into nightly batch processing and automate upgrades/fixes for core business applications to release through our project lifecycle (DEV, QA, UAT, PROD). I can't say enough about their support. Most companies have forgotten what customer service is and the importance of having great help. I can say that is not the case for this solution. They have an excellent support bench able to assist you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With all technology, I am sure you can find something that needs to be changed. Through our partnership, we share what needs to be changed, and the company works to add this to their roadmap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The cost to run dev systems has been too much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
