What do you like best about JAMS?

My favorite feature of JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler is the in depth job tracking and reporting. That visibility into job statuses helps you as a team spot any issues you have when the job is running. I especially like the job status notification system, when a job fails or takes longer than expected, we’re alerted about it in real time. We no longer invest that much of our time in monitoring jobs manually, so we can better use the time on more strategic tasks. In general, it improves accountability and our operational efficiency. What do you dislike about JAMS?

The JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler downside is that it uses a lot of resources in a very short space of time. While it does a great job of job scheduling, we’ve found that it can get CPU expensive managing many concurrent tasks. That can, occasionally, slow other applications on our servers running. Additionally, it can be difficult for those that are not familiar with job scheduling systems to teach the learning curve as a new user. Once in a while, this interrupts our team’s facility to adopt the software rapidly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about JAMS?

The best feature I have found in JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler is that it synchronises large and complex jobs across multiple systems. This gives us the ability to automatically and particularly monitor the execution of jobs in the software. It has made our work easier especially in our operations since there is less interferences from manual adjustments and human errors. Also, the powerful reporting features offer useful information regarding the employees’ performance and the state of the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

Regarding the cons, it is not very easy to learn for newcomers and takes time especially to master due to its complexity which sometimes may drag productivity. Moreover, while the integration with other systems is mostly seamless, occasional syncing issues have been reported, and they significantly affect the timing of job execution. These challenges have at times interfered with our processes and have needed close monitoring and attention. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about JAMS?

What I prefer most about JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler is that it is very usable for intricate job schedules. The chances of facing interruptions have been prevented because of the features of automating and continuously supervising tasks. I also like the reporting capabilities of the tool that aid in monitoring job performance with potential problems addressed before they become severe. The estimated usage frequency has risen in the team we are working on because it is very useful in making work easier and effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

The most outstanding issue I have with JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler is that they lack a consistent user interface design. It’s not very intuitive, which hitches up operations and assignments, particularly where there is time pressure. The turnaround speed of this interface also sits well as a learning curve to which new comers have to undergo to make proper contributions. The effect is that instead of using time on a job, one may spend a lot of time dealing with software in order to accomplish it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Katie Thompson of JAMS

What do you like best about JAMS?

The best feature of JAMS is the job scheduling where job dependencies can be easily handled. There is also centralized management of schedules that will be very useful in creating the schedules in the different systems. It has significantly eased our work in a way that has eliminated many complications or oversight in handling and organizing our jobs. This aspect has greatly boosted our efficiency in matters concerning job scheduling in that it offers good clarity and control. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

However, one drawback of JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler is that it appears to offer a relatively outdated user interface in comparison to newer systems. It can also hinder natural navigation, and overall usability of the application. Moreover, the software itself has a lot of functionalities, but some of them could be quite hidden and can be difficult to apply efficiently from the start. These have at times led to slower uptake of the system, and overall, less efficient use of the system where needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about JAMS?

Without a doubt, the most noticeable aspect of JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler is its excellent work scheduling and management. This assists us in mastering and streamlining complex processes in various systems properly. There is a centralized and easily navigable interface that presents all the tasks we perform with a high level of flexibility. This integration has made it easier for us to complement the work of ERP and CRM systems through making certain tasks to run efficiently and on time. This has helped to boost our operations and reduce on some work that was manually done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

The disadvantage of JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler is that its installation takes place rather hardly. It is cumbersome and can be rather confusing especially due to the complexity of the various features that are present on the software. This made the process rather complex and it took a lot of time for our team to learn a new way of setting up the meetings. Moreover, while these features are robust, the interface tends to be somewhat clumsy in comparison and slightly less efficient when dealing with schedules and issues. What do you like best about JAMS?

The most visible and impressive facet of JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler is the fact that it does not find it strenuous at all to manage even the most complicated schedules possible. The many features such as the extra schedule and real time monitoring of the machines is strategic to ensure our operations work as planned. Also, there are numerous positive aspects of customers’ support which is very efficient and ready to help without delay. In our case, this tool has assisted in improving the efficiency of task management and productivity of the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

The biggest limitation of JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler is that the system may have hiccups when being updated. These problems have led to some interference of our operations particularly with tasks that require strict time planning. Furthermore, the first time of migration was slightly complicated and it took a lot of time as well as money. On the one hand, the number of features is vast, but on the other, it is confusing for beginners making it add to the learning curve. These weaknesses have at times hampered our progress particularly when things get tough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Katie Thompson of JAMS

We’re happy to hear JAMS can handle even the most complex scheduling processes to improve the efficiency of your task management! Additionally, it’s great to see you're enjoying the real-time monitoring feature. What do you like best about JAMS?

My favorite JAMS feature is that it can be extended using custom execution methods, written in C#, using their native libraries. These custom execution methods make it easy to schedule repeatable, customizable jobs which are highly tailored to our company's systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

As a counterpoint of what I like best, I'll admit that there is a learning curve for writing custom execution methods. While JAMS support helps get us what we need to know, I feel that more documentation or project templates could help new customers get up to speed at using this powerful JAMS capability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kevin Vliet of JAMS

Thanks for the stellar review, Rob! It's always exciting to see how our customers leverage the powerful and extensive capabilities of custom execution methods. Looking forward to seeing what else you and the team come up with as you continue your use of JAMS.
