Jams provides a number of features that make it very flexible and able to meet a number of our needs. The features that we take advantage of are the multiple job types, scheduling, and extensability. In my organization it is important provide end users flexibility with the technologies that they can use and customize. Jams allows us to meet these requirements and allow our users to use their preferred technology. Additionally, we're able to create customizations that further extend Jams capabilities and give our teams exactly what they need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While there isn't a whole lot that I dislike about Jams Job Scheduler, there are a couple of pain points we've had to deal with. Deploying customizations to multiple servers can be a bit of a headache, due to the time it takes to get setup for the first time. However, when deployed using an automated process, this is only a temporary discomfort. Additionally, I have had trouble with the online documentation not being up to date with the latest version. Although, that problem was remedied quickly by the Jams staff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

JAMS simple to use interface and functionality with JDE made it easy to implement and use. The dependencies on jobs and groups of jobs (setups) allows for the most efficient use of system time. Grouping jobs together as a setup allows flexibility to make changes very quickly for entire groups of jobs at one time. The projected schedule gives great visibility. Having windows scripts, FTP, and JDE in one place makes for easier system monitoring. Lastly, alerts give you the exception handling that is required to handle issues when they arise, without it propagating an issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I honestly have no dislikes of this toolset or the people that I have reached out to for help with any questions. JAMS has been one of the BEST solutions that we have put in place. It's positive effect on the Business Applications department has been fabulous. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to schedule Banner Jobs directly from JAMS is amazing. I also love their support! They are always thorough, quick to respond, and very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly the only negative thing I have to say about JAMS is some of the complicated procedures and dated documentation. We have also encountered a couple of bugs when copying over sequences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Jobs management with batch queues and Agents Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The windows in which we have to set properties are too small.
The application is not intuitive.
To be able to bulk modify jobs we have created multiple PowerShell scripts - the option should be provided in the application itself.
Failure action cannot set easily. Sometimes we feel that to create a new job, or modify one job the application is good. But, it is not good to migrate jobs in bulk because not all properties from the servers are getting migrated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best part about JAMS is the support staff. They are very prompt, usually replying to the initial request within 1 hour. They are extremely helpful and friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Still fairly new to JAMS Scheduler, but so far all my questions/issues have been resolved within 2 hours - I have no complaints about the excellent support I have received. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The JAMS help me in current company to start consolidation if all batches/etl processes in one place.
Make a proper dependencies, having a better alerting, history of executions.
The support is the best one, quick responses, resolution, jumping in to remote to help Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would not put any dislike for now, because we using v6 and there is already v7, which has a lot of new futures and improvements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We are very new to JAMS. Currently we are just in the process of converting all our scheduled jobs from our legacy scheduler into the JAMS scheduler. This process has gone very seamless making our conversion go smooth and quick. We are easily making our deadline due to the fact that JAMS has everything our current scheduler has and so much more.
The other thing I like best, and it's probably the most important is the support we have gotten. Your support team is on the ball, ready to answer all our questions. It's helpful to have the chat windows when searching for something. If your support team is unable to assist through the chat, they are quick to call or request a webex to review what we are trying to do. So far there hasn't been an issues we haven't been able to resolve in less then a few hours (max!) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far I have to say I really don't have any dislikes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
JAMS Job automation provides options of Workflow or Setups and both are very impressive in terms of an automation solution/approach they provide.
However, here at our organization we have considered Job-Setups combination and its very flexible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing which we have come across as of now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can use Power-shell to automate everything and the support has always been prompt and spot on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing at this time. I always look for new ideas on how to improve automation so I will continue to look for this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
