Top Rated FlexNet Manager Alternatives
Like other similar programs, the longer FlexNet is in use and properly maintained, the more benefits you can obtain from it. FlexNet is well established and has a proven track record of actually working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Older versions of it are very dated and a little bit clunky. Newer versions have improved, but some of the same problems persist. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Discovery of hardware and software assets using agentless algorithms similar to ServiceNow and compliance capability to reclaim the unused licenses. Also its providing best adapter for the citric xen app and EdgeSight to gather the users access rights and uses information on which management can work and control or optimize its use. Nothing as such but interface could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It allows a large number of integrations with other applications that allow me to get 100% out of this application in a fairly safe, practical and easy way, in terms of data accuracy, the information it provides is quite complete, solid and robust, ideal for make any type of decision that affects the future of the company, customer service is excellent at all times. Its interface has an impractical design and somewhat cumbersome to understand, so navigation turns out to be somewhat bumpy, not to mention that the performance is somewhat poor, since in many cases the system becomes slow for no reason or reason Apparent that can justify this reality, in addition, acquiring additional functions can be quite an expensive task to perform. When implemented with the FNMS Agent, the level of information that the system has access to really allows for some deep analysis.
With a wide array of reporting out of the box, along with the ability to filter and customise views of the data is a fantastic feature.
As we are using the cloud managed version. As such, the absence of any need to supply resources (both human and harware) to maintain the supporting infrastructure is of great benefit. We anticipate that the savings from the analysis of license spend will cover the cost of FNSM for our organisation over the next 3 years.
The integration points - both SCCM and ServiceNow - are of great benefit to our organisation. This allows us to gather both software, laptop, desktop and Server hardware information from a single source for IT Service Management (ITSM) purposes and utilise it to improve customer experience and change control.
We feel the tool will be a core element in our ITSM managment strategy for the forseeable future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The setup and distribution of the agent across a large organisation with multiple platforms can be a challenge. Planning and proper project controls, along with technical expertise is essential. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Overall the Flexera Software tool are good but some time we are facing platform specific issues.
When we face platform specific issues again Flexera Teams taking time for replicating the issues.
we need to plan specific platform changes in case existing package not covering those platform / OS.
In the meantime getting many escalations from customers (if resolution got delay). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The coloured "License Summary", which shows the deltas between "bought" and "used". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Two things. It is a "must" to have the possibility to split a higher number of bought licenses between different cost centers. To input one purchase detail several times to split a buying between different cost centers is a no-go! Second point, the upload functionality of "Documents" is not usable. We use Microsoft Teams ... and links from documents stored in Teams are too long for the input-field in FNMS. Also a movement from the files withing Teams/SharePoint will result in a loss of all linked relationships in FNM. An upload into the cloud is not practable beause of performance reasons by a growing database. The only possibilty for us is using "Physical location" which points to the one-drive cloud location of the document. But this will also result in a loss of the pointer, when there files will be moved. Maybe you think about an solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to quickly see the status of our licenses servers, and be able to receive alerts when something goes down. Having alerts being sent out is very useful and can save a lot of time bringing up a our license status when we are on call just to see that a normal reread has cause the server to lose communication and therefore trigger an alert. Also like the graphical interface as most information from Flexnet is presented in text box format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The lack of compatibility with other license managers such and RLM and LM-X.The reporting feature is seriously lacking. It can create reports, but system is very clunky and old school. Even when I create a report, I have to spend time in Excel arranging, sorting, removing fields I don't need and removing values that contaminate the end data.
Not being able to see other license managers prevents the software from being a one stop shop for all license server related issues. It is true that we are not using the latest version, but upgrading takes considerable time and effort to perform, and we have been trying to get it done since I started and we have not done so yet.
