KBMax has one of the most robust documentation wikis to help with anything within the system, and the support team is super smart if you ever get stuck and need to submit a ticket. The development workflow and version control processing is built-in and very easy to use. Beyond the visualization capabilities, KBMax has excellent integrations with Salesforce, AutoCAD and Solidworks for lots of different output workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The underlying code for customization and configuration uses a SNAP rules engine developed by Google and is easy to use once you get familiar with it, but I find there's a bit of a learning curve to adjust to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like having the multiple development environments and the simple promotion through environments, this aligns with our overall technical approach. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Pricing structure is a bit convoluted and the professional services rate are a bit high for our liking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to modify the configurator without relying heavily on outside support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a bit of a learning curve. The documentation doesn't match the capabilities of the platform. I wish there was more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Excellent CPQ that improves the experience widely in terms of e-commerce. Excellent 3D graphics and CAD modeling that makes the experience unique and complete CPQ integration with salesforce is one of KBmax's strengths and it can have a wide range of configurations that enhance the user's shopping experience. Time savings in terms of engineering services are reduced thanks to this excellent structure tool. As part of the technical team it is really rewarding to be cloud based. It is complicated to install on Linux servers and I hope to improve the experience regarding this operating system. Editing complex assemblies can be a bit complicated with the features offered by perhaps migrating to other programs such as those offered by AutoDesk will result in better solutions. Training guides are scarce and it would be interesting to have a guide when using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

KBMax provides a toolset that we can easily program configurators for any of our products and create documentation in any format that we desire for all departments within our company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes bugs come up that are specific only to our company, so it's hard to get prioritization on our niche issue Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about KBMax is how the 3D product is displayed. With some tweaking the product does look very realistic. Also, the snap code is easy to use. You don't have to be a developer to understand how the snap code tool works. The training tools provided are helpful and often updated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We do struggle with a few items. Apparently creating a model of a hat is difficult. Different fabric types have different attributes. Being able to capture the shading of a distressed fabric or a product that isn't structured has proved to be a challenge.
I would also say 'scenes' section of the tool is a bit more complicated and requires some studying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I am pleased by the reliable features of KBMax.
I also like the way we are treated by the technical department with respect.
To me, KBMax is excellent.
It does not have downsides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It allows non-developers the ability to create a configurator product. The snap blocks make it easy to setup and understand. It was made so you don’t always need heavy IT resources and it can easily be maintained by the business users. The real-time updates are amazingly fast. The company is also great to work with and their support team are extremely responsive when problems arises. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not having the ability to track revisions well. We can create copies of configurators and make sure that everyone is following the proper procedures in place with making changes to the configurators, but the tool doesn’t allow you to look back at all the revisions made to the configurators or be able to revert back to previous versions. So, you have to be really careful about saving and communicating when you are working on the configurators with your peers to avoid any issues with saving over each other’s work. On the plus side, you have the three environments to work with. Dev, Test and Prod. As long as you don’t deploy the bad copy to your production site, you should be ok. Copy and pasting between configurators could also be improved. The other is not having enough documentation or tutorials (video) available. Although, they are constantly adding to their wiki page, it’s very limited today. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
