The software is capable of running stills, videos and apps. It allows me to create playlists for each of our locations, from a central point. Our communication is specific to a location, and easily modified. We provided an increase in communication during COVID (2020) and the signage helped. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside is the time difference between my location and the UK when I need assistance. They are very responsive to questions, but we occasionally have to wait overnight for a response. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We like the ability to remotely add and control content. Our favourite features include real time news, weather feeds and conditional play options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The site's pages are somewhat slow to load. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We are a VAR and we use the embed DS platform to support many of our clients' communication needs. As a Samsung partner, we supply state of the art AV equipment. The embed DS platform is designed to work with the latest Samsung equipment but also allows us to support legacy users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We don't have any negative comments to make. The system is user friendly. Support is quick. Billing is transparent. The technology is robust and reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being able to control media around our campus remotely is great. It means that we can easily change what to show our students and even people walking outside on the street.
It's also great that everything can be automated with on and off timers and I can publish it and not have to worry about whether the screens are on or off at certain times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's very slow when using the editor. Loading times are incredibly slow. Not just while editing but also for loading media on screens. The caps for file size and resolution seem really low, and I don't know why it takes so long for media to load to the screens.
The interface of the editor online is also a bit quirky at times, with things not offering a great user experience. Things like not having a 'fit' option for zoom or making the steps more gradual, not being able to unlock global zones for a specific page, limited design style customization, multiple clicks just to get to changing something like text. The media menu being a whole different menu so you can easily make quick changes to media while editing a layout is annoying too. Adding on the slow page loading times makes it even more frustrating.
Adding some good mobile functionality would be great. The sizings and options and position of things when using a browser on mobile is tough to use. A lot of the time I want to be standing in front of the screen to see the changes I make and make sure things are adequately implemented, so being able to use it well on a phone would be helpful. We really really enjoyed the customer service that came with the product, Embed Signage. They (a representative) reached out to us regularly to make sure we were getting the best bang for our buck. I enjoyed knowing that I would have somebody that I could reach out to should I encounter a problem. Oftentimes, when dealing with an online program, you feel like there isn't a human face to the company, but this was not the case here, with Embed. We did not end up upgrading our subscription to paid, but if we did, I would know who to contact with any possible questions or concerns that I needed answered. We did a ton of research into different providers for the service we were looking for. I was first drawn to Embed by the name of the company, as I was interested in a video feed that would be embeddable on our company intranet. Unfortunately, it was not possible within our budget. While no product on the market could do this at the pricepoint we were looking for, we found options for digital screens that were a better fit for us, and easier to use. We ended up choosing one of Embed's competitors because it was intutive to use and very welcoming as an interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The seamlesness of how it's working and the complexity of how you can set up your devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The structuring of folders ( for different sites ) could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Once you get into it Embed is relatively easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can't say I've fully explored the software, but so far there's not much to dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The product is very flexible and comes at a reasonable price. Many of the competing products I evaluated had much higher costs, required special hardware, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UI can be a bit complex to get accustomed to, but once you've got your signage up and running, things are easy to manage and update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
