I have been a loyal user of Dropbox for over 15 years now. I was immediately impressed by it, so much so that I proceeded to recommend it to all my family and friends a few days after I started using it it's how I managed to get quite a bit of free space in those early days when dropbox ran a referral program that awarded you 500 MB of storage for every referred friend who signed up. Ever since I signed up to Dropbox, pen drives became a thing of the past pretty quickly for me and I've never looked back since then. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing comes to mind. I quite like everything that it offers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Emails can only send an attachment with the max size of 20MB. One image can range from 12MB to 19MB so emailing more than one photo is impossible. In comes Dropbox. It's incredibly user friendly, a simple drag and drop and it uploads. I copy and paste the link into the email and the client is happy. And it's free! I use my Dropbox daily. I didn't do a ton of research on this but I don't know if we can customize a link. If that's a current option, great! I should start doing that but if it's not, that would be nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For a small business this is a great way to connect to my clients and colleagues. Avoiding additional emails, large file sharing etc and keeping it in an order that is efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the limit someone may have while locked into my dropbox. meaning they may not be ablte to add larger files from their server even though it is 'my' dropbox as it says their upload quote is full. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is easy to use. You can easily create folders, move files, drag and drop files. I like how you can easily change the layout from grid to list. It is great depending on what type of files (photos or documents) you are working on. The setup was easy and users were able to access the files for review. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When moving files/folders, it is not always clear that I have double clicked the "destination". I found myself doing extra clicks becuase the highlight is very light.
It would be great if there was a "living" document version of DropBox.
The mobile app feature is not as user friendly. I do not find it as easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like the best about Dropbox is that it is SO easy to use. You have the ability to share large files with others and also collaborate with them. HIGHLY recommend this software Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like the least about this product is the annual fee. I wish there wasn't an annual fee, that being said, I understand why a fee is required but wish it wasn't there :(. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love being able to share large files of projects I am working on with multiple people. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like that we have a very limited amount of space that is free access. 2 GB doesn't seem like much especially since with Google Drive we can use up to 15 GB. I work on very large Architectural Drawing Files and the size of the drawings can get really large quickly. If my files do ever exceed the size of my storage capacity - I have to use other types of programs to share files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's no cloud storage offering that's easier to use or works as seamlessly with more devices than Dropbox, and it's priced competitively so choosing Dropbox over other services is truly a no brainer.
Automatic desktop folder syncing across all devices, affordable storage, a fast interface, and plenty of features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly I think of many things, especially when comparing it to the negatives of the competitors. I do wish sharing was a bit more intuitive at times but I also realize that the options your given for folder control here are far superior thus require a bit more input from the creator of the file up front. I like the new features for editing and searching plus dropbox has always been my go to for sharing large files and sharing online files by link. Their desktop app for Windows has bugs or its just my system. I have had to reinstall it more than once. Just using website for now. I noticed the 3 major cloud servers (Dropbox, Google Drive, and iCloud Drive) cost exactly the same at the different tiers. I plan to use all 3 for different purposes at different tiers. Still working out which gets the top level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As mentioned the Desktop App for Windows has been glitchy for me so I don't use it now. And like its competitors there is no way to merge multiple accounts - but it is not so hard to download from one or another. And still cannot transfer files to or from other cloud accounts without downloading to a pc. And since I am not using the desktop app, the file manager on the website is a tad unhelpful. But I still have new tools to try out if they are available in my tier. I would suggest use the free trial and see if it works for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really like being able to work on files from any device. This has been especially key for collaborative design and marketing work with clients. I also really like the seamless integration with my Mac desktop/native file storage and folders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there was a way to make linked files accessible without downloading them from the cloud first - for example in Illustrator or InDesign, when images/etc are linked and I receive a packaged working file, I have to make sure all linked assets are downloaded before they can be linked in the project I'm working on.
