**What do you like best about Discuss?**

Flagging comments and being able to label them to pull together for later use will be incredibly helpful in analysis. Great tech support!

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

There has only been one thing I couldn't navigate and it was using the markup tool, presenting new data and then coming back to the marked up page. I had to delete markups on the first page or they pull through to the other data pages I needed to present.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to capture notes at the end of each interview is a tool I will rely on moving forward. Three simple questions after each session will actually capture a lot in the long run.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

I appreciate how clear the Discuss platform's chat functions are; on some platforms it is hard to be sure you're typing in the backroom or a private chat. The Discuss support staff are also friendly and, in most cases, speedy to help resolve issues. The uploadable discussion guide features are unique and help organize the transcript; however, the use of this can be dependent on the time you have to upload the guide, and the moderator's comfort with multi-tasking (so it often doesn't get used in my experience)

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

When in the platform as a moderator, the screenshare and downloadable stimuli section can be hard to navigate / is not as streamlined or easy to use as other platforms. It is also a challenge to screenshare and maintain an eye on the chat bar, which cannot be pinned open.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Discuss is a solid platform that solves issues my company has had in the past with tech support and ease-of-use/platform friendliness. Using it, we've seen greater chat involvement in our clients, and tech support is more easily accessible during our sessions.

It is designed with the researcher in mind, not retro fitted to also work in market research. I can load my discussion guide, organize transcripts, and more easily analyze findings. I also like that I can preview respondents and their basic info in advance of groups.

The ability to have mulitple moderators without "showing" everyone to the respondents. Build in backroom functionality. AI autotagging and built in capture functionality.

It is expensive and can be cost prohibitive in a lot of cases.

Provides all of the tools necessary for interviews and focus group research in addition to AI and tooling that simplifies the analysis and synthesis phases.

Discuss seems to be an easier way to conduct meeting with moderators and observers than what we currently have.

It's new to me, so I don't know 100% how to use it to its best capability yet.

  ### 7. Technical difficulties after all went well during pre-session tech checks

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

I like that there is a live tech support individual there to assist, bring in the participant, and troubleshoot

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

Overall, I do not have control over many aspects of my experience and have had pretty severe technical issues each of the 3 times I've tried to use the platform. Below is a detailed description of my experience.

- When I first tried to log on to join a session as an observer, I had to restart my computer for any discuss.io pages to load. All other websites and apps were loading normally and working perfectly fine.
- I am unable to pull the chat out into a separate window.
- When I shrank the browser window to split my screen so that I could see the moderator guide, I was having issues where the bar across the top of the screen during the meeting (that has Discuss.io in the top left corner and buttons like "+invite observers") was covering up the slides, I was sharing.
-  I had technical issues with hearing random sounds in the background of my interview
- My colleagues were able to hear me typing VERY loudly when using my computer microphone, which I've never had issues with when using other video interview platforms
- After performing an overall tech check 2 days prior to moderating, then performing a tech check 30 min prior to the session I moderated, where all went well in both tech checks, I stayed logged into the meeting I was moderating, changed nothing about my setup, and then was unable to share anything (I would click the button to share and nothing would happen) and was unable to see the chat (I would open the chat window and there was no chat feed there, just a blank blue column). I had to exit the meeting and re-join as multiple session refreshes did nothing to fix this.

Not solving any problems for me - I was asked to use it by a client.

Easy to clip and tag important moments of the interview. Taking highlights notes is also very helpful for analysis.

So far, no downsides. I have used only once, so haven't explored all the features yet.

Participants on mobile devices don't seem to pass tech checks. Not sure if this is user error, but I would like to be able to take folks who may be on a tablet or phone.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

I really like how easy it is to set up projects on the dashboard with the ability to manage the respondents, observers and content with the peace of mind that our groups are also supported by a highly receptive tech team.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

Sometimes we have had to set up projects last minute.  We understand that we need to give 24 hours notice to obtain tech support on the platform.  Unfortunately, we've had to go without that on some occasions and have our moderators run this aspect.  This can be frustrating to our moderating team as their primary focus is the research.

We are using self-capture for a lot more pre-assignment work and Discuss.io has a very user friendly way to capture videos, clips and uploads from our Consumers.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

What I like best about Discuss is the easy UI/UX. Everything you need, is in front of you. There are not many reroutes or unnecessary features, it keeps it simple for anyone to use.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

The only downside of Discuss is the layout when viewing the participants. It's currently set to default as a gallery view, but I was there was a way to pin specifc participants.

Discuss does a great job of finding high quality participants, who will give you their time and effort for a full session. I know this isn't always the case, but i've experienced the least difficulty when using Discuss versus other competitors.

I had never used Discuss before and my experience was very good. The fact that we can have our guideline close by and being able to tick what we have covered already is very useful and agile.

I honestly didn't see a lot of downsides, but maybe one thing that can be improved is the fact that, when you want to record a highlight, it doesn't show if it's recording or not and that can be a little confusing in terms of securing the information.

Being able to speak to consumers in a confidential manner, without them knowing we come from an specific brand and that helps us a lot with the biased issues we sometimes could have.

I like the support providers who join the chat and don't leave until everything is set up. I also like the backroom and private chats. The observer, moderator, and respondent roles are also nicely divided.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

I dislike that the backroom can become distracting for moderators during the interview. I think there should be a chat for observers and then a chat with observers+moderators, with each being clearly labeled.

Discuss allows us to conduct online interviews in a seamless and easy-to-navigate platform. It is like ZOOM but with specific functions for research. So, it allows us to remain confidential and have a barrier separating clients from respondents.

Discuss let you index the conversation as it is happening. Then, once your research is done and it's time to write the report, you can not only reference back to specific points of the discussion but also check and edit the video clips it automatically creates.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

The platform could be faster when it comes to cutting the videos, but that is a not a deal breaker, especially as it helps you save time by creating the videos with the themes you select.

I use Discuss for Marketing Research. On my side, the platform makes it for me to schedule and conduct video interviews. On the consumer (interviewee) side, it makes it intuitive for them to know what they need to do and join the sessions I moderate. 
The video clipping/editing  tool made my reporting significantly more efficient.

Discuss.io provides great tools for qualitative researchers. Overall, the tool is designed with professionalism. The tech support does a great job to chase down the respondents. Compared to Zoom, Discuss has a backroom that allows the client and other observers to not be seen and are able to hold their own conversation in platform hidden from the respondent which is great

The tool works great for what it is designed for. There really isn't much to dislike about the tool; it functions as advertised.

The problem that Discuss solves is that it give s a professional way to conduct online qualitative research. It provides us with a tool that offers more support than zoom for conducting these efforts.

The technical capabilities are everything we are looking for. The added value that the customer service team provides is what really sets Discuss IO apart in my opinion.

I have yet to experience any real downside. There are some instances where respondents can't access the platform but the reason for that is usually their VPN or own device.

We conduct research with the intent of providing market research insights to our clients. This platform has provided easy DIY tech platform that is simple enough for almost anyone to use.

Ease of use. A moderator was available as soon as I used my email link and logged in. They checked my connections and off I went to the waiting room.

I found no downsides using this platform. I had used it for the first time through a wi-fi connection and had no issues or problems.

The guidance from the questions that has to be done was really helpful, also the fact that any email address is shown also helps as I have a corporate email that would be a bias.

There was not a site for me to send notes to the moderator, I didn´t find a way to communicate with the moderator as an observer because of a few things that suposed not being said

Consumer information regarding his life habits, aspirations, personal information, joyful moments, and so on. It benefits me because I need to send this information to another team that evaluates it.

The quality of work that was delievered and hands on support the day of our sessions was wonderful.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

I wish more platform training was given to clients. For example I work at Unilever and there are plenty of collegues who have used the platform before in our greater parent company, but everyone within my specific brand/team hadn't used the platform before so it was a sharp learning curve. There wasn't a kickoff call, it was more of a generation of an invoice and I had to ask a lot of questions, set up the calls myself as the client, etc.

Extremely user friendly and intuitive, has the most features of any of the platforms, is both DIY and comes with support options, transcripts are fantastic. Bottom line it's the best platform out there and offers some of the abilities of a zoom, adobe, etc. but with much better capabilities

The tech support could be a tad better and the project manager is probably unnecessary for most projects - since most stuff is doable in a DIY fashion. Wish I could patch in a call for myself though to my phone which I sometimes have difficulty doing

1. Support is very good. All participants are called and checked in advance. This way you never have problems with bad streams. And you can see the screener in advance, it is also viewable for the moderator!
2. Very nice and clear view of the participants. Allows for very good moderation.
3. Good transcripts, so that the moderator only has to record the most important things.
4. Very good that you can save stimulus, so you don't have to share the screen awkwardly.

Discuss helps me in making quick reels out of my highlights. Decision-makers may rapidly select their desired niche audience and determine findings, allowing brands to discover insights and establish customer interactions with greater empathy and knowledge.

The chatrooms are very inconsistent. At times they work fine , at times the testers don't understand which room they have joined or are supposed to join.
Their Subscription models are not very friendly for Ad hoc projects.The subscription models are very high priced for small projects or organisations.

Discuss reduces our research time by half, reduces manual efforts by 75%, and provides a new depth of richness to our research. Creating reels or clips from highlights is like a quick 2 mins job which helps us create amazing and enriched insights.

The Discuss.io platform is, first and foremost, intuitive and user-friendly, for researchers, participants and observers. This allows everyone to focus on the conversations.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

There's nothing I dislike about the platform. Perhaps one area of improvement would be providing more video recording options.  Currently, there is one video recording option: a split screen including the interviewer and the interviewee(s).  I would like to be able to download the video of just the interviewee(s). Also, I'd like to be able to see/download another video that will toggle back and forth to the person who is speaking.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Discuss helps my business because it boosts my productivity.  The Discuss.io toolbox includes 3 key features: the integrated Discussion Guide, the Save Moment button and the drag and drop Highlight reel assembly functions.
The integrated discussion guide allows moderators to upload the guide and, by clicking boxes during the interview, insert the discussion guide questions into the transcript, in bold.  This enables researchers to quickly scan transcripts, to find particular sections.  The Save Moment button allows the moderator and observers to save 30 second clips to capture important moments of the interview (15 seconds before and 15 seconds after a click). The drag and drop functionality helps users quickly assemble themed reels.  Creating clips no longer requires cutting based on audio, but rather simply selecting sections of transcript.  The automated transcript is almost always accurate enough to capture the sound bite needed.

I really liked the ability to search through all the transcripts within the platform. This helped me analyze the findings quicker without compromising quality. This platform is easy to use and a real hit with our clients.

Some of the technicians are not as good as the others and you can really see the difference. Getting staff on the same level would improve everything greatly. Other than that no complaints.

Qualitative Panel of Discuss is very effective with its on platform DIY method of creating a research study.
The add ons like training & Mobile screenshare are super helpful from respondents standpoint.

Their tech licensing fee is crazy high and not affordable for conducting bulk studies and most of the times their word cloud are not seggregated by emotions.

Discuss helps me in conducting IDI and FGD's at teh easy of their 5 click platform with their range of target audience panel. Discuss also takes care of teh administrative work like invitinga, training and incentive managaement of the panel leaving me to handle other aspects of the study.

I like the respondent hub. Before starting a focus group on the platform, it gives me a snapshot of all the information I need before proceeding. Compared to its competitors it is a lot more user friendly and easy to access

The interface does not allow me to bold or highlight any information on the guide (either before or after it has been set up). Allowing formatting would go a long way towards making the platform more user friendly

It allows me to execute my research projects. A dedicated backroom (which participants cannot access) allows me to ensure that the interview can be fine-tuned or that additional questions can be asked based on observer input.

Discuss is built by someone familiar with qual methodologies. It has a full feature set: built for qual, backroom, ability to annotate, edit clips, sentiment analysis, etc. The recruiting and PM services are huge time-savers. I've already recommended it to colleagues and clients.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

The discussion guide is helpful, but I wish you could move windows around so you don't have to look to the right of the screen to review the discussion guide. Building a discussion guide isn't as easy as it should be. New questions get added all the way at the bottom, so adding a question at the top of the guide is a pain.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a more professional way to do remote IDIs and it was taking me too much time to analyze them on the back end. This allows me to do more in less time for the part of my process that takes the most time (by far).
