**What do you like best about Discuss?**

Discuss.io is far and away the best video research platform available. I have tried many other platforms and discuss.io the best. The tech build is just smart and it is genuinely designed with research teams in mind. 

It has everything you could need in a platform and more. the interfaces for clients, recuriters, moderators and participants are all seamless and easy to use. The support teams are always helpful and prompt. 

I use it for every project, and refuse to go back.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

I'm not totally sold on the AI features yet. I'm excited to see how they continue to improve.

I'd like an easier way to send recordings to clients without giving them full accounts.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Discuss.io makes research easy and reliable. As a moderator discuss.io acts as my project manager keeping clients, participants, guides and stimuli organized. As a client, I love when agencies use discuss.io because I know they're intentional about technology and committed to creating a great user experience.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

One of the things I love most about Discuss is the customer service. They are quick to respond and helpful. I know that I can count on them, and that gives me so much reassurance when running projects. Most of the time, I have clients on the back end, and it is so important that things run smoothly. I also love the training resources and the newly developed Discuss University.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

Occasionally, I get a tech for my session who does not go above and beyond. I will leave it at that. Right now, the discussion guide questions do not provide everything I am looking for, but I know they are working on this. Discuss is constantly making its product better by listening to clients. I have seen so many improvements in the last year!

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Discuss makes collecting data and providing insights to client so seamless.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

It is very user friendly and has many great features for setting up IDI's and Focus Groups.  The video recordings and transcripts are ready very shortly after the interview is complete which makes it great for when clients cannot observe live so they are able to view the recordings right away.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

For outlook invites it does not have an option to set a reminder so interviews could be missed.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

I really like the Tech Support folks. They are superior to those on other platforms. I also like how easy it is to get up and started, as the user interface is very intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

The quality of the automatic transcripts is not as good as some other software that I use. The platform also does not support large, integrated audiovisual files. Discuss says it can handle these, but I'm here to confirm it cannot yet. With many agencies moving to more rich-media stimulus formats, this is something Discuss will want to address soon.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Other platforms either don't have a client back room, have poorer tech support, or are unreliable in terms of project management. Discuss addresses these issues.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

What I like most about DiO is the ability to connect with consumers on a specific segment or specific part of the world very quickly. This really helps to get valuable insights in an agile way. For example, if I have a burning missing consumer understanding needed very quickly, I can rely on finding the right consumer on a good timescale with DiO. It also helps not just CMI people but people in the whole organisation to get very close to consumers and talk to them directly.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

The flip side of this is the fact that you will need to find time for you (or a team) to do the job - the interviews and/ or the main learnings. It'd be great if we could rely more on automated reports to help us.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DiO helps our business in different areas such as innovation, culture and societal understanding, etc

  ### 6. User friendly - simple and easy research

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

The interface is very intuitive and easy for new users, clients, viewers to navigate.   Honestly, while "training" is available, it's not necessary!  Customer support if I have a question is always ready to help, friendly, and knowledgeable.  Love the new-ish Self Capture feature.  Really adds value to our projects, adding other layer of pre or post learning.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

I wish there were more features akin to what we are used to on Zoom and Teams... filters, blur or change the background.  Nothing essential, just nice to haves!

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can show a range of stimuli in a user friendly environment to get feedback on advertising, packaging, new product ideas.  It also solves the problem of client travel restrictions.  We rely heavily on online research with a reliable platform - all clients can participate, not just the 1 or 2 with permission to travel to "live" research.

Easy set up, fabulous tech support personel who just get it, rarely any tech problems, clear and easy to share stimulus, great to get respondents to provide individual and collective feedback.
I love the reassurance you get with knowing a tech person is on the other end to help out. They are always updating and improving the product. Innovation is strong.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

It's tough to figure out the best way to use the save tags, too many, too few, different titles, but once you know what you're doing it's great.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access to respondents, quickly, efficiently, easy to engage with and a broad representation from US and globally. Able to answer my clients questions quite well, love the video clip and tag insights feature to help generate quick verbatims.

Helpful - programming and launching polls is super easy; muting participants when they are too loud; accessing video clips for future analysis is also really great. I also find tech support to be super helpful and readily available when we encounter any participant tech issues. I found the learning curve to be very easy.

I think maybe accessing clips could be made even easier.

request to attempt a  'personal' testing of the site after official run through 2 weeks later was not carried out . It was just to confirm how to share my screen , so a minor thing so was a 2 min thing ...Request was declined . Provision of links (bot sort of solution) provided instead ...it was adequate but 'some of us' (old timers)  like the personal touch or human contact best, gives us more reassurance

giving us an alternative to Zoom , with technician present at all times, to iron out any technical issues

Receiving multiple emails, texts, and calls to ensure that I was prepared for my session; the link to my session was at the very top of the emails, not hidden in the body; and the date and time information were also very easy to find. I've used several platforms since, and Discuss still has the smoothest experience.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

I didn't have any problems whatsoever. From booking the session to preparing for the session to execution and ending of my session, it was probably the smoothest video meeting platform I've used.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A very attractive, streamlined and dependable option for video meetings with crystal clear audio and video and an attractive, easy to use interface. Discuss is definitely my favorite platform so far.

  ### 12. Discuss.io as a platform for online qual interviews

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

As an interviewer, the interface is pretty straightforward, easy to use. If the goal is to have the platform transparent to interviewer and interviewee, Discuss.io is pretty close to ideal. Audio and video controls and quality are simple.  Quality of audio and video during the session were better and more consistent than other platforms, though not perfect. Quality of download file audio and video were acceptable. The clipping tool is exciting but with the volume of interviews we did, I'm not sure I have time to use it. Chat and support features are good, easy to find. Tech support was solid - we had them launch each interview and after that scarely needed them. Downloading session videos was likewise easy. Fortunately for me, our logistics people dealt with the project setup and logistics so I was spared of that. That said, they did not complain so it could not have been too bad. We did about 90 IDIs on the platform and there were no issues re volume, scheduling concurrent interviews, etc.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

The quality of the transcripts was not great - better than others, but not as good as some. Plenty of room for improvement in terms of consistency of formating (some were formatted properly, others were a single long unbroken paragraph), and in terms of dealing with crosstalk.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used another platform to do interviews and had some issues: reliability of the platform video and audio, access behind corporate firewalls, and transcripts that needed cleanup before we could release them to a client. Discuss.io was better on all these issues. Not perfect, but superior.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

Very easy to setup the project (shoutout to Erika who is a great Account Manager), the customer support in the beginning of the interview made sure everything ran smoothly, the people were well recruited and very articulate, and the AI summary helpful as a baseline for analysis.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

Not a dislike per se, but because I chose the DIY version, we ended up doing the moderation ourselves which was a great opportunity to speak to consumers but required quite a bit of coordination from my side. I know they do a self-reported option which I am keen to try out as well.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gaining consumer feedback on our product innovation ideas, producrt feedback or comms development.

As a participant, it isn't confusing to use Discuss. I don't feel lost on the platform, and it is straightforward to use. The person doing customer support was friendly and helpful. I continued to have positive interactions with Discuss.io, and haven't come across any problems.

In the past year, I haven't had to dislike.

Since I am a participant, working as an independent contractor, this question isn't too relevent to me. However, Discuss.io works well as a platform to gather and disseminate information from participants.

The best part about discuss is that it allows multiple window, one for a panelist while the other for the observer. I guess that's the best part for a smooth discussion without interruption of any parties with the another.

I guess the chat box should be a little minimised on the screen. It takes a way lot area when you open it during the discussion.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

I tried Discuss as guest user for some customer intereviews my firm was conducting as part of a client research project.  Their vendor provided a brief training on the platform, and I did see the benefits of using it over something like Zoom, which is what we typically use to conduct interviews.  In this instance, we chose to use Discuss so our client could observe the interviews live without the participants' knowledge, which is not possible on Zoom.  In addition, I liked how you could upload the visual stimuli directly on the platform.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

Whilst Discuss includes a lot of features helpful for qual research such as a "back room", live chat, option to share stimuli and recording functionality, I found the user interface to be confusing and difficult to navigate whilst conducting the interview.  For example, when I was sharing the stimuli, that took over the majority of the screen, and then I also to be able to  see the participant, the chat (in case my clients asked additional follow-up questions), and my dicscussion guide.  This felt crowded and  a bit overwhelming to reference all of these at once whilst also leading the discussion.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing us to conduct in-depth and recorded customer interviews whilst our client observes.

The most helpful thing has been to have a team of highly qualified professionals who are always available to offer useful training courses. Discuss.io offers an easy-to-navigate interface that makes it simple for users to set up, manage, and conduct market research projects. The platform also integrates various research tools like video conferencing, survey modules, and transcription services. These tools are seamlessly incorporated into the platform, reducing the need to juggle between multiple software solutions. Last but not least is the user friendly interface which is easy to understand even for people who are not part of marketing or research departments

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

The platform and its capabilities speak for themselves, to be honest. While we have used and trialed many different ones over the years, we keep renewing our contract with Discuss because of how intuitive and easy the platform is to use. Even our clients have multiple times pointed out how nice the interface is and how simple is it to log on and watch the groups. Given that we run up to 100 sessions per months, it is vital that if flows somewhat seamlessly. 

In addition to the platform, the people at Discuss are always a joy to deal with. Regardless if it's their support, their customer success team, or their product team, they always listen to our feedback and wishlists. They have developed multiple features in the platform after soliciting feedback from us and other customers. 

Lastly, the process of getting the platform up and running for new users is simple. It requires minimal training and integrates almost effortlessly into our overall insights collection process.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

I honestly don't have a ton that I "dislike" about Discuss. They continuously collect feedback from us, so I have already shared that I'd love some more "discussion board type" features. Last thing I'd say is that it would be great if it could double as the tech solution for in-person focus groups. Then, it would really be our all-in-one solution.

We wanted a simple solution, in a clean interface, that works globally. This enables us to do less training on multiple platforms, and it causes our IT and legal team to have to review more potential PII storage.

I use Discuss anytime we have online groups or IDIs.  It's so esy to use and even intuitive for clients who haven't used it before.  Nothing to download or account to create.  As a moderator, I can show any stimuli (images, video, etc.) easily or I can share my screen to go through a website, Figma, or anything along those lines.  Discuss's tech support is also fantastic - super friendly and knowledgeable.  Highly recommend!

I mostly do research in the US, but I have global colleagues who can't use the platform because their servers (not sure if that's technically the right thing!) are not in Europe.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to talk to people all over the country without having to travel, saving time, money, headache and stress.  We get a much better mix of respondents/feedback this way.

More problems with technology (sound, video) than other platforms like zoom. I had to go and search my computer for a specific file connected to Zoom and teams for it to work well. It was quite stressful to have problems during an interview.

I found the overall user experience of the platform really intutive and easy to navigate. The abilioty to upload the DG and then track transcripts can aid analysis  as responses are highlighted rather than 40 pages of continuous text. 

The interesting moments short video clips which are sentiment coded are a really useful and quick way to take short vieeo edits to add to your final report and bring to life findings with minimal effort.

Good customer support at the start of the call to undertake tech test with participants.

There is a nice takeaways sections which moderator and observers can add to at the end of each session which is useful for capturing thoughts in real time.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

One minor aspect that was annoying is if you try to remove stimulus for one interview it is then present for the next interview so you have to remove from the master stimulus list.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

The interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, and the ability to archive and search within the recordings and transcripts is very helpful. It's also great to be able to combine live interviewing with asynchronous activities. Respondents generally seemed to be able to join sessions relatively easily, and the tech support was good when there were minor issues.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

I would like to have more flexibility in structuring the asynchronous activities and facilitating different types of input from respondents, though it's possible that I just haven't fully learned how to use it properly.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a secure, HIPAA compliant platform for remote video interviewing that ideally would also allow for user diaries and other interview-adjacent activities. The platform needed to be easy to use for both respondents and researchers.  This platform seems to address those needs.

Love the autotranscription and AI features. The whiteboard and clip-capturing features while interviewing also make it much easier to look back at important moments for analysis.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

I wish there was a feature to toggle the search in the recordings tab. When searching currently, it searches for keyword matches across all projects, not just the current one. I rarely if ever need another project's matches, so they just clutter the screen.
Otherwise, More quantitative add-ins would be nice, but I know that the team is constantly working on new updates. I highly anticipate the asynchronous interviewing, quantitative, and evolved AI features that the discuss team is working on.

Pharmaceutical feedback for our clients. We research messaging, product concerns, ATUs, etc.

I really like how interactive the platform for is. From the public chats, polls and whiteboards for the participants to the backroom chats for the research team and other observers. It's really easy to navigate. I also like the ready availablity of tech support.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

There isn't anything that I actively dislike about it. The only problems that have ever come are due to user error on the part of the participants. That said, maybe some of the buttons for moderators could be a little more intuitive or just labeled with words instead of icons. When people are thinking quickly, recall for icons might be difficult, but reading a button that's labeled with a word might be more helpful.

We are using Discuss as the platform for our research focus groups. It allows us to save time and money by having focus groups virtually and still approximates some of the in-person activities with polls and whiteboards.

Discuss has been an invaluable tool for my team, it has allowed us to provide better service than something like zoom for focus groups. Providing higher value for my clients. My clients have generally found it easy to use as well.

I cannot speak too much to the technical end, though having used it before - some clearer notice when you are in the backroom vs the group itself would be helpful.

The project set-up phase feels needlessly convoluted. With an unlimited subscription, it is still difficult to set up an unmoderated or self-recruited live project. It seems projects can't be set up without going through a quote phase, which does not make sense for self-recruiting, no PM, or unmoderated projects.

Discuss has a very thorough platform with thoughtful features that allows users to easily engage in interviews, while also saving key clips and communicating with observers or tech help. The interface is easy to use for first-timers and brought a lot of comfort to the otherwise unknown experience of interviewing.

While the features and placements are intuitive to use, some of the pop up functionality blocks the screen and it was not immediately clear how to minimize/close - I almost clicked the wrong button thinking I would get back to the main view.

Discuss provides a painless collaboration tool that provides easy connection to consumers we are looking for and allows for scaled experiences with observers, transcripts and recapping functionality. User interface is not crowded, easy to use. Resources are easy to share across team members and our externally contracted moderator. Technical support is outstanding- very patient and supportive working with a whole range of participants in our studies. IDI studies aren't a core piece of our business, but Discuss makes it easy to pick up this project type again no matter how long it has been.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

How to implement a mobile screenshare study was not clearly communicated by customer support to our project manager and there was no demo offered. Managing interview invitations/links with several colleagues through the platform is unclear (but worth figuring out).

Discuss helps us meets the complex research needs of our clients via their flexible platform with multifaceted tools (transcripts, tags, timestamps)...
