Top Rated DevExpress Alternatives

I use Devexpress Winform and Office File API. Both sets are almost complete, especially Winforms. We sell software to industry where Windows is the operating system of choice. There is absolutely no reason to switch to any other type of development stack that doesn't even come close to Winform's completeness.
The support you get from Devexpress is world class. You not only get links to documentation, but they spend time coding working examples based on your own questions. You usually get an answer within 24 hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is actually nothing to point out as negative about Devexpress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like their products, such as DevExtreme, and their support.
Their documentation for their products is excellent. It gives you an insight into how they work and how you should use them. There is plenty of documentation on each, and the UI displaying the documentation is excellent.
Their support is top-notch! They always respond within a day unless they see an issue. Then, they will respond within 2 days with how to proceed. They are very understanding of the questions and do not make you feel bad for asking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Their controls allow you to do a lot of manual work, but some of the functionality should be automatically put into their controls. Then we have to manually add it in and that can be cumbersome at times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

DX Support is really good. They almost always get back to me within 24 hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Less than before. They are catching up with their feature set which is great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We needed a comprehensive widget set for our BISS/CAIGO application. After an intensive evaluation of several frameworks we decided to go for DevExpress and after several years of developemt we can definitely say that it was the right decision. We are using the Javascript widget set together with jQuery. The widget set and its functionality are very complete, feature rich and offer a very good UX out-of-the-box. The widgets are extremely flexible when it comes to customizing and adapting the functionality to our sometimes very special needs.
There is an extensive, well structured documentation with many useful examples. You have to get a bit used to the approach, how the components work but once you have mastered that, it is very concise and straight forward.
The components are very ease to integrate,
DevExpress offers an excellent support with very fast turnaround times and competent answers. Absolutely worth the money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If there is something that we think could be a problem in certain scenarios, then it is the fact that the widgets have a pretty large "DOM footprint" (i.e. consist of many nested - mostly div - elements). Thus creating a large number of widgets on a page may slow down the browser a bit. BISS/CAIGO offers a window mode, similar to the OS desktop approach and creating many windows with a large amount of controls in each of them sometimes may lead to sluggisch browser reactions. But that's the only complaint we have so far and we are using DevExpress controls now for more that 5 years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have a need to create nicely formatted reports for our engineering application. Most reporting toolkits are heavily biased towards database connections as their source of data. While DevExpress also has a bias in that direction (presumably because that is the majority of their customer base) it easily allows integration with business objects as the source of data, making it very useful in our application. As a developer, two of the nicest aspects of the tool is (a) ultimately you can always bypass the automated ways of creating a report and write code that dynamically creates/interacts with the report and (b) the technical support is excellent. This includes both their knowledge base of past questions as well as direct contact with the support team. I've yet to ask a question that they couldn't answer. The only negative aspect I have encountered with DevExpress is that the libraries are a bit "heavy" in the sense that when we create a report in our application, the JIT compiling takes a fair bit of time for the first report. Subsequent reports in the same session are virtually instantaneous. There are ways to embed pre-compiled versions of their libraries in the code, but so far I have not found that to be especially convenient. But overall this is a relatively minor negative. Controls are easy to use and with many functionalities.
You can mangle everything with just few experience and they are consistent among diffrente types of controls, so you'll find similar approaches even on new controls.
What I like most is the support. DevExpress support is top notch. Always ready to help reviewing your code and suggesting code snippets or workaround. Is like having a human coder by your side with total knowledge of the controls (and the language/framework you use) ready to help spot bug or explain how to do things even out of the ordinary. Nothing to dislike after more than 10 years with their stuff in my web apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The controls are extremely flexible, the documentation is extensive and generally you can easily find what you're looking for. When you get stuck the support is fast and very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing is perfect but I cannot think of any significant downsides to the products Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The flexibility to show, update and delete data from the table. Generally the tables only promote single entry editing, whereas the tables in DevExpress, Datagrids help in batch mode editing as well as row mode editing. The custom store also helps in further control over the data in each step of the process in update or delete operations.
The custom confirmation pop up of higher order function is an absolute developer's wish come true. We as developers now don't have to create multiple pop ups, just give in the options as needed and you can easily get the confirmation pop up.
TreeView/TreeList to show branching hierarchy is solving most of the developer's nightmare of branching data one inside other, just define the data properly and table takes care of everything, absolute blessing it seems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At some places, the grids seem to be in vintage styling unlike other libraries that offer modern designs. But I see this is changing and also we developers see DevExpress more as a functionality supporting library making the developer experience easy and fulfilling any type of user requirements over a gimmick to attract people in first sight through designs. We're using XAF to build our products. The DevExpress support is quick to answer my questions and help me solve the problems I am having. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Making apps using XAF has a big learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
DevExpress provides a full suite to simplify the development of business applications. Developers can focus on business implementations make any implementation faster, since the suite provides all typical functionalities that an enterprise application requires (reporting, Office API, etc...).
