I like how customizable it became with the introduction of the work flow view. It allows you to streamline various processes done in the system on a regular basis and names can be edited to something that makes the most sense for your specific business. It also helps when setting up new users that may not have a ton of experience with the program. I also like that you can't really delete anything once it's posted to the GL. It does cause reports to look messy if you enter something incorrectly and have to go back and fix it but that makes you focus on making all entires correct the first time and reduces the chance of malicious activity. I dislike the system doesn't have the option to use gross contract values with tax included in certain areas of the program. For example, in the AIA invoicing module you have to enter the pre-tax contract value of each line on your SOV rather than with tax so when the pay app generates it doesn't match our SOV approved by our GC clients b/c they want to see gross values rather than pre-tax with sales tax stated seperately on the cover page so we have to make our AIA pay apps outside of the system and when we post the pay apps in CE we don't even break out the SOV we just use one line for original contract and then a line for each CO so the system is really only used to track billing on an overall basis we can't use it to actually generate pay apps to send to the client. When integrating payroll with Deltek ComputerEase, it involves a combination of exporting files (jobs/employees) to FieldEase and importing time from employees each week. It involves multiple avenues instead of being centrally located in one spot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Deltek ComputerEase is very user friendly. It makes learning the use of the software quick and easy. There are help features available, and customer service/IT support is well trained and easy to reach out to. I use the software daily and feel that it's easy to learn. The biggest downfall for me is the practical training sessions for specific areas of using the software. I would like a class that focuses on using Qtools, I have not seen this. I would like specific trainging classes that I can pick and choose for what I need to work on understanding better. Otherwise it fits with our organizations' accouting needs. I would like the option to run a report, for instance, in AP which list all invoices for a vendor with payment information as well as open invoices. I've not found this report as an option, short of having to use Qtools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are alot of functions that Deltek ComputerEase makes immeasurably easier that manual systems - especially payroll and billing. The ablity to have it update and handle (non-local) taxes alone is invaluable. It is able to handle many facets of the contracting business in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The reporting functions can be all over the place and difficult to find and use. There is the ability to "build" some of your own reporting - but the desired outputs are not always available depending on from where the report generates. 3. Training new users is difficult compared to my experience with other similar softwares. It's just not the most user friendly software, and takes a lot of work on the users side to utilize the entire capcity of the software.
