I think the best thing about ComputerEase is the formatted reports and solutions provided by Deltek, which could also be the downside, the lack of customization Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As mentioned, the lack of customization is a big issue. I also don’t like that there’s no sorting or filtering for the GL accounts. I often tell people it feels like I’m doing accounting in a PDF.

I also don’t like how the Labor Distribution Reports only show the time that has been entered, not what is still remaining to be entered. We often run payroll by department, and a department can have up to 80 employees. I would like to be able to run a report that shows everyone in the department and the hours they’ve entered, even if they have zero, so I can quickly see who is missing. This week I missed paying someone, and if I had been able to see who had no hours in the department I was running, I could have caught the issue.

Also, we sometimes use the description field when time is entered in labor distribution, and the description will often include a job code that the time should be applied to. It would be helpful to be able to edit those descriptions after payroll runs. I don’t think that would be overly sensitive to change after payroll, and it could then flow into Qtools when we run time history reports.

We employ workers in a state that has multiple local taxes (municipalities, school districts) and Deltek makes it simple to ensure that the company and the employees are compliant with the multitude of taxes. This is especially essential since our employees work in multiple municipalities each payroll period.

As a union employer, we are required to comply with the rules, pay rates, fringes, and other details that are required of the unions with whom we are affiliated. Due to the nature of the construction industry, some employees work within multiple local unions in a given pay period, and Deltek has the essential ability to accommodate the varying pay rates, fringes, and misc. pay requirements.

When users are in need of technical assistance, Deltek has proven to be responsive and knowledgeable with our needs and requests, and have even consulted with our company regarding our specific, custom invoicing needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
