What do you like best about Daminion?

Out of the 9 Digital Asset Management (DAM) solutions that we compared, we found Daminion to be the most user-friendly with a brilliant support team. We are working on organizing our archive, and Daminion has proven to be a valuable tool for this task. What do you like best about Daminion?

The Software is easy to use and generates fast results in searching for Photos. I had the Standalone version up to now and uses mainly the search for keywords. The separation of the database and the actual mediafiles is a good idea. I like that the keywords are written directly in the media. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Daminion?

Updates are sometimes buggy. A better quality control would be helpful in this case. I hope this will improve in the server version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

in my business i need fast access to photos. This is easy with daminion. I don´t benefit financially cause this is not my main job. Indeed the business performance increased. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Daminion?

The handling is simple and intuitive.

After a very short settling-in period you get along very well.

Use only the server version. The standalone version is not maintained and has many bugs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Daminion?

I would like automatic version control.

1) RAW: 1234.cr2 => JPG 1234_LR.jpg => recognize as version when importing and link it.

2) Please note the sorting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Daminion:

Test and then decide.

The best thing is to create a requirements catalog and then verify whether Daminion meets enough requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Finally, I can manage my tens of thousands of photos reasonably good.

Erwin, thanks for the feature suggestion!

Version Control term is already used in Daminion for the management of file revisions. Edited versions of the same file.

We are going to add the "Variants" option so you can combine RAW + JPEGs or different variants (versions) of the same asset (logotype, ad banner, etc.).

After that, we will consider automatic versions/variants based on file names.

Most of all - speed, tags, individual export settings, watermark implementation. When You work with 10-15 new galleries every day - Daminion is a good tool for You! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
